I’m not a fan of the Turbie Twist. It doesn’t seem to absorb very much water out of my hair and actually seems to halt the drying process.

I am dumbfounded at these positive reviews. I purchased this recently and have used it several times now, and it is nothing more than a glorified piece of microfiber cloth, made in China, that one can purchase at any local dollar store or other general store for $1-2 versus the $5-6 that the ‘Turbie Twist’ retails for. If the product actually worked, and reduced my hair’s drying time and/or reduced frizz, it would at least have some value, but it didn’t. I could kick myself for buying this scam of a product. The person who ‘invented’ this (i.e. took cheap microfiber cloths and slapped a Turbie Towel logo tag on it), is laughing all the way to the bank.

Time to donate or throw out the old T-shirts! Shopping at the grocery store and saw this towel in the hair product aisle as I contemplated stocking up on something else that I didn’t really need, but just planning for the “what if?”. 🙂 (What was the other other item? Goody Pin It Up pins for rollers, which I have discovered prevents snagging of my hair when used as bobby pins. Finally! That’s another review.) This microfiber towel is such a simple design, yet effective. Just as it’s described – should be suitable for all hair types and (head) sizes. The shape, makes it easy to wrap your hair and the loop keeps the towel in place. Yes, it’s very absorbent – no drips running down my face as typically occurs when your T-shirt becomes soaked. Paid $5.99 USD. Made in China. Dries fast, remember to follow the care instructions on the label – I plan to also not use fabric softener on it (that’s the typical care instruction provided for microfiber cloths that I use to clean my car.)

OMG! If you have wavy, curly, or frizzy hair, you owe it to yourself to try this!! Make sure it’s the microfiber version (not cotton) and don’t bother with any of the cheapy knock offs. I stumbled across this at Big Lots for $2.50 and have been reading about how great microfiber towels are for facial cleaning, home cleaning, and hair drying, so I thought why not?? At this price, I’ll give it a try.
I’ve used this over the last couple of hair washes and my hair has just been getting better and better. 90% less frizz, tons of shine, and BOUNCY curls. The Turbie has impressed me so much, I went out and bought 2 more at CVS (they had a BOGO sale with a free in-pack wide tooth hair comb).
I just squeeze any excess water out of my hair in the shower (always squeeze, Ladies, never wring your hair!), put on the Turbie, and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. It gets sopping wet depending on how much hair you have. Then I just comb through with a wide-tooth comb, apply my favorite smoothing product (at the moment, the generic version of Sebastian Potion 9 from Sally’s), and let it air dry.
What an amazing difference between using regular cotton towels on my hair. <3

I picked up a microfiber version, hoping it might do a better job drying my hair than the 100% cotton version. It does wind up sopping wet, but I don’t really see a difference in the amount of water that remains in my hair. It also does not seem to dry any faster than the 100% cotton version. It takes between 4 and 6 hours to dry.

Love my turbie twist! It really cuts down on drying time and drastically minimizes frizz. Would definitely recommend!

I like this little towel because it is an easy way to get my wet hair out of the way after a shower. It does help in cutting down drying time but not drastically. Unfortunately I read the advice on not using a fabric conditioner on it too late. Apparently it makes it less absorbent as does bleach.
I do notice some improvement in frizz although I am using a bunch of new products at this time so it could be due to any of them. My only issues are that it should be available in a larger size for long hair. They should also have a way of tying it so plopping is possible.
I hate piling my hair up on the top of my head – as they advise – when its wet as it makes my already too voluminous hair even bigger. I’m going to try tying it backwards so the hair twists at the nape of my neck and then folds up.
Ironically, this takes ages to dry!

I have two of these microfiber towels. One I had for forever and the other I recently bought. It’s not this brand specifically but they’re the same style and made out of microfiber. Let me just say I am in love with these! Great because you don’t need heat to dry, I don’t use heat anyway but if you’re looking into no heat hair routines this is a nice alternative. Love love love how easy it is to just wrap the hair right up and let it soak up the water. When I take the towel out my curls are damp-to almost dry, frizz free and beautiful! I love this

I bought a two-pack of these for my daughters, who have very long hair. This is a life-saver for me! Towels never stayed wrapped on their small heads and they were always getting my furniture wet with their hair. Now they love to comb thru their hair and wear the fancy “cap” to allow their hair to dry. This doesn’t fully dry their hair — it just makes it a lot easy to keep it contained while drying. I am really happy with this purchase and if they break down or don’t absorb after a period of time — I would definitely purchase more.

I use to own many of these in different colors and still have some in my linen closet . They are so easy to use and keep my hair up and out of my face so that my hair can have a chance to dry. I usually prefer to let my hair air-dry since my hair gets puffy with a blow dryer. These hair towels cut the drying time however there is a major con to getting them. I made the mistake of washing these and using a fabric softener on them. After time they lose their absorbency as do cotton towels in general if you use fabric softener on them. I now use flour sack cloths or cotton t-shirts to dry my curls. Sallys usually have these on sale and they are less than five dollars. In summation, they work and will last a long time if you care for them well. I just think there are better, cheaper options.
