i have this in the silver packaging from 2019
this has NEVER pinched my eyelids and is a lot better than both the Shu Uemura and Shieseido ones ive owned. The rubber on the Chanel is more sturdy and harder while the other two have a “gummy” texture. I much prefer the Chanel’s harder material because it lasts longer and it curls my lashes in a C shape rather than the hideous L shape i get with the other curlers.. The handles are more loose on the Chanel and its easier to clamp with a bigger opening and also it is easier to control. The Shu and Shiseido feels more constricted and harder to use. This is very understated and seriously a hidden gem. i am never going back to other curlers. It gives me pushes up lashes and never crimpy or that L shape ive stated above. I highly recommend this!!

I got this when it was a limited edition piece at Covent Garden pop up boutique.
It just feel so luxurious and curls really well. It comes with 2 replacement pads – which are easy to replace – the Shiseido ones fit too.
It also came with a velour pouch to keep them in when not being used.
Really lovely piece by Chanel – hope they make it available again!

I had to call 4 chanel counters to find this, but it was totally worth it.
I don’t know how TSA DENTED my eyelash curler on my trip to vegas, (in a hard suitcase mind you) but they did. Therefore my Tarte one needed to be replaced and it was only a few months old. It worked well but I wasn’t in love. I heard that the Chanel one gives a strong curl. So I figured I could spend the money since it’s a tool like a brush and something that you’re not constantly repurchasing.
When I finally got it, I was super excited, and it didn’t disappoint. I have long lashes, but they’re not very voluminous. My bigger problem is I have VERY deepset eyes and curling my lashes lifts my eyes and opens them up/brings them forward. This curler is strong, gives a good curl and HOLDS it. I love mascara too, so it gives a lovely effect.
I’ve had this for at least 6-8 months and have yet to change the pad (haven’t needed to) but they give you extras (1? 2? Don’t remember) for when you need to. This is great so you don’t have to buy another. The pad makes a big difference in how well the curl comes out too. The shape of the curler itself fits deep set eyes well too, a hard find.

Honestly every Asian typical eyeball girl should try all 3: Shiseido, Shu Uemura and Chanel… and just pick whatever is the best shape for one’s peepers. Shiseido flirted with me for several pinchy months, then dated a Shu for a year until … tonight… I married Chanel!

After a few weeks of using this I’m left thinking it’s…alright. Didn’t pinch my eyelids like the Tarte curler I was using before. If you have almond-shaped/Asian eyes, Chanel’s curler will work wonderfully, but I’ve never used a Shu curler before so I can’t compare. Reviews online have said Chanel’s is comparable to Shu’s shape-wise or slightly better. Chanel’s curler is lightweight, but doesn’t feel cheap, and is comfortable to hold. It *is* quite expensive for an eyelash curler, but keep in mind that a) Shu’s curler isn’t as readily available in the US as it was before and b) the Shu only comes with one pad and you can’t buy replacements–you have to buy a whole new curler. Figured I’d be saving money in the long run by having the Chanel that comes with three pads though costs more than the less expensive Shu that only comes with one pad.
The one major gripe I have with Chanel’s curler is that despite the sleekness of it being all-black, it’s annoying when you have black lashes and can barely see them against the curler. Unless you have a magnifying mirror with a light it can be *really* obnoxious trying to see what you’re doing. For that reason (and having enough pads to last me for quite some time) I won’t repurchase, but would if Chanel released a version that wasn’t black.

First off, I have never owned a Shu Uermura curler and the Chanel curler I purcahsed was to replace a very battered and rusty Manicare curler that is several years old. This probably mean any curler I purchase will be an improvement on what I already used ;p
This is a lovely curler. Very sleek black lacquer finish. It comes with a total of 3 pads (2 refills) which is necessary as this item is limited edition. I have read on some blogs that people have been able to substitute the Shu refills on the Chanel curlers although i cannot confirm this.
The curler does it’s job. It doesn’t pinch. It grabs all the lashes. It doesn’t appear to overly crimp or damage the lashes if used to hard. Te curl is perfect and lasts. I cannot fault the curler itself.
I am very disappointed however that there was no Chanel velvet pouch or protective pouch/bag considering this is Chanel and costs approx AUD$42. Thus I am terrified of leaving it in my makeup drawer for fear of it being scratched and losing the lovely black lacquering. I keep it in a disused Mimco jewelry pouch.
This is definitely more a collector’s piece and I am glad I purchased it.

Better known in my neck of the woods as an eyelash curler, this is now replacing my shu uemura. I have used and loved the shu for many, many years, but it never really fit my eye shape. This Chanel eyelash curler does fit my eye shape, and that is what makes the biggest difference. I have basic round eyes, and with this curler I can get at all of my lashes easier. Plus, the curl holds well for me.
It doesn’t crimp, and I can curl from the base to the very tip of my lashes with ease. Ease is important, and this curler makes curling my lashes actually fun instead of a chore. It is just so very easy to use. I love it.
