Great product! So much better and gentler than the clarisonic

Well isn’t this little gem a surprise? I’ve had a sort of interest in the Clarisonic from all of the hype- I say sort of because I was really put off by various reports of it being a bit strong for daily use, causing broken capillaries (I am prone). I was in Boots one afternoon and they had a small display for the Visapure with all the various brush heads. I couldn’t believe how soft and gentle the head for sensitive skin was. So I just went for it. Bit of a gamble at £150.
The Visapure itself is slightly odd looking. A bit phallic but a very pretty peachy pink. I know people have had problems with it in the stand because it’s top heavy but I don’t store mine in the stand anyway and for charging all it requires is that you don’t knock it over. It’s reasonably ergonomic and fits in the hand well. I do wonder why it is as long as it is though….
It actually rotates slower than I thought it would and doesn’t make that much noise which is nice. It works like my Oral-B 5000 toothbrush in that it operates for a set period of time (1 minute) with little pauses to encourage you to switch facial zone (3). I love this because it takes all the guesswork and effort out of cleansing.
So the biggest surprise of all is how gentle the Visapure is and how little time you actually need to cleanse your face! It has made me realise that I must have been scouring my face to hell with a face-cloth before. I used to suffer a perpetual cycle of minor breakouts before and I never knew what to blame- the cleansing, the makeup, the moisturiser? Well I am fairly certain now it was definitely my overzealous cleansing. For now I have stuck with the sensitive brush and the first (slower) speed setting and it is a working like a dream. My skin is left feeling clean- not abraded -and is clearer than it’s been in ages! I don’t know how well the Visapure would hold up for someone wearing an awful lot of foundation- I suspect you’d need to use a more thorough cleanser (I use Cetaphil) or do a double cleanse- for the timebeing I am not sure because I am wearing no skin makeup at all because my own skin is looking so good!

After seeing all these rave reviews for facial brushes like the Clarisonic I decided to give it a try. I chose the Visapure as it’s slightly cheaper than the Mia 2, and the replacement brushes are half or even one third of the price of the Mia 2 replacement brushes. Oh, and Philips is a Dutch brand, and me being Dutch as well… 😉
I’ve been using it for a few days now, and I love it! I don’t wear an outrageous amount of make-up, just bb cream, blush, mascara and something on my lips, but still I wanted this because of some minor blemishes and enlarged (thus grubby-looking) pores on my face. The cleanser I use with this is the Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser, which seems to be made for this :)! Up till now I’ve noticed small improvements, like softer skin and a healthy glow, can’t wait to see what it does after longer usage!! Will update in the future.
UPDATE: I still absolutely love this! I use this twice a day and my skin has never looked and felt better (well… Maybe when I was a baby ;D). I normally get a little hormonal acne around that time of the month on my chin but the last time I stayed almost completely clear! Also the milia I used to have are gone, gone, GONEEEEE! Whoop whoop!
