Who woulda thunk that the SAME dish soap I have had next to my kitchen sink for YEARS would end up cleaning full coverage foundation out of my brushes in one try? This completely cuts the dirt from the brush heads, loosens oil and debris and makes your brush hairs like new again. Truthfully, I was astonished. I should have known that something that tough of grease would work for my foundation. And to think I went with the baby shampoo for all those years and then the expensive brush cleansers by MAC and Clinique. So glad I have seen the light. I love finding new uses for old favorites. Will continue to purchase and use for foundation brush cleanings.

Thanks mandymann for your review! I do the exact same thing LOL when cleaning my m/u brushes and they have lasted MUCH longer than my old ones when I used m/u cleaner. I also find Palmolive gets rid of the grime, etc alot more effectively, while preseving the softness of the brushes…Palmolive smells great too! Cheers 🙂

Okay this probably will sound sickening but I have to give this tip…. Get the “antibacterial” version of this in the mini bottle (or pour into a smaller bottle) and keep in your shower to use to wash your armpits and you will not stink if you sweat – the only reason sweat will stink is because of bacteria, and this takes care of the prob. 🙂

You do know that you can use Palmolive Dishwashing Liquid for your fine washables, right? It works so much better than those schmancy fine washable detergents and costs much less per use!
I tried washing my makeup brushes with them and used less of the soap than I would shampoo. It lifted off the makeup quickly and thoroughly. It even lifted off all traces of the MAC Paint on one of my eyeshadow brushes!
Before you buy yet another jar of expensive brush cleanser, use this instead. Dont be afraid to use them on your expensive brushes.
How To Use Palmolive to Clean Your Brushes:
1. Fill a cup with plain warm water and wet all your brush heads in the water. Empty cup.
2. Pour a small amount of Palmolive (size of a dime) and fill cup half or two-thirds the way with warm water. Use enough water to completely submerge the brush heads.
3. Submerge the brush heads (you can wash four or five or whatever at a time). Swoosh the brushes around for a few seconds to dissolve the detergent and loosen the soil.
4. Let your brushes soak for a minute or two.
5. Rinse each brush head thoroughly in cold water. Squeeze out exess water, reshape heads and lay brushes flat on a towel to dry.
6. Let brushes dry overnight.
