Lancome says its “precise curved design fits any eye shape and easily captures all your lashes”. But as with all lash curlers NO size and shape EVER fits all. For my large almond almost round eyes with very long fine lashes its the worst curler I’ve tried. I’ve never had a problem with other curlers but can’t I can get this to successfully curl my lashes at all. I currently use the Shiseido and the Tweezerman ones and a few generic ones with no problems. So it was a surprise to me my new Lancome one does not work for me at all.
Its too short to fit the width of my lashes and is design is too curved. This makes it that I can’t get close to the base of my lashes, it misses most of my lashes with each try, and pinches my eyes no matter what angle or tricks I try. Very painful
Apart from the size not suiting my eyes, the opening is very narrow. It doesn’t open very wide so its difficult to get my long lashes in through the opening, I have to wiggle it around and push them in. If you have long lashes this might not be the one for you.
I’m not saying its a bad curler. I just think its not very versatile. Probably only suited to shorter lashes and a smaller, different eye shape. The build seems sturdy and fine.

LIke the reviewer below, this also fits one eye but not the other! Strange, I know. It does take two or three closures to get a curl, but the curl is great and natural looking. It really opens up my eyes. The curler doesn’t open as wide as the one I used to use (which, coincidentally, came with a Lancome GWP a few years ago.) I wouldn’t say this new one is HG. The pad is very spongy, which I think makes it more difficult to use because you have to press harder when you close it. Also, I am not sure why, but I can’t get as close to the base of my lashes with this curler. All that being said, I plan to keep it and keep using it because I like the curl it gives me. But, when it is time to buy a new one, I think I will try another brand. Update 1/10/16: I have been using this for three years and have not had to replace the cushion at all, although I have taken the cushion out to clean and sanitize it several times and it is still in great shape. The cushion is now not as spongy and I like this now more than when I first bought it. I think this curler is going to last me for years and years. I have grown accustomed to using it and can curl my lashes lickety-split without any pinching.

I needed a replacement for my 8 year old Shu Uemura curler stat (RIP). I was told by a Sephora sales associate that Lancome bought out Shu Uemura and had the rights to the original curler’s design. I will say right now that this & the Shu curler are NOT shaped exactly the same. I feel that Le Curler is rounder. Oddly enough, it fit my right eye but pinched my left. This is just a warning to be sure to keep your receipt!

I’ve been using my Shu Uemura curler for years, but heard all this hype about this new curler from Lancome. This product immediately went back to Sephora. For the price, it acts like a cheap drugstore brand. Unlike my Shu, it did not curl my lashes on the first swipe. I also had to watch out for pinching and I could tell if not careful you’d get that ugly 90 degree straight stick-up. I tried pumping my lashes a few more times but stopped because holding a curler for longer periods/harder or having to repeat the curling just to get the curl you want = lash fallout! Trust me, make the investment and get a Shu curler (see my review). It curls so much better than this and in a much easier, shorter amount of time.
