I don’t know if it is actually doing anything for my skin, but I like the texture of it. It is great and gentle on the skin and i use it with my foaming cleansers.

Gave it a fair chance broke me out more than usual…..though, I only washed my face with water and this. Doesn’t do anything your hands can’t do. Feels gimmicky tbh and the price is a BIT HIGH BOSCIA. You aren’t missing too much by not trying this but hey if you want to can’t hurt too bad compared to other tools

I used this product after returning from a sunny vacation because my face looked so dry and dehydrated!!!! It was also windburned. Let me add I was living in a very dry climate and I don’t and really haven’t exfoliated in a few months. I washed my face with it in the evening and noticed my face looked quite, now this is very hard to explain, but after using this sponge it looked quite thick and spongy. My face is fair and freckled and I have always been very good with keeping it moisturized but not at exfoliating. After using this to cleanse my skin it looked, like I said, thick, in a very weird way. My pores looked really deep and the few acne scars I had on my face looked really pronounced. I put on my moisturizer and then went to bed. Keep in mind I didn’t use this product for exfoliation, I was using this product for just cleansing because I am quite sensitive to most cleansers and wanted to try something chemical free. I want to emphasize again that prior to using this product my skin was very very dehydrated and there looked to be fine lines everywhere. I had travelled for 15 hours on a plane x 2, went on a sunny vacation, and live in an already dry climate. After using only this product and then moisturizing I went to sleep. Woke up in the morning and my face felt very very very tight. Funny enough I actually ran to the bathroom not knowing what I was going to see :/ I splashed some water on my face, started gently rubbing and the amount of skin that flaked off my face was UNREAL!!! UNREAL!!! It wouldn’t stop coming off, but in a healthy way. The superficial layers I guess just need to be shed off. It was kind of dramatic. I actually said “WOW!” out loud. I was left with very very happy skin. Not irritated, not tight, not dehydrated. I was actually in disbelief and still am. I am writing this review about 2 years after that experience and I can’t believe I have only used the sponge just that once. I had forgotten about it actually. My skin needs some TLC right now and I am hoping it is because it needs this sponge again. I wish I would have taken a before and after because the difference was actually unbelievable. Hoping it will work the same way! Keeping my fingers crossed. Way to go Konjac sponge, way to go! Btw, I used the white coloured one without any cleanser.
Update: I used the sponge again for the first time in 2 years last night and the results were definitely not as dramatic. I will keep using this solely as my nightly cleanser maybe every other day or so and report back with results.
Update: As a daily use product this is a no go for my already dry skin. Maybe it worked wonders the first time because my skin was about to shed anyways from all the wind/sun/dryness and this sponge just gave it a boost. Maybe I will use this every once in a while. If I find something else and forget about this sponge I obviously will not be repurchasing. So, I guess I will use this product again when I want to speedup the shedding process. I have sensitive skin and wind/sun really dries it out to the point where the dry skin separates from the fresh skin underneath so if you relate then use this sponge when you need to reveal fresh skin underneath. In the meantime, I will be trying to find something else to cleanse with.

This is my nightly gentle exfoliation. I use mac cleanser oil and rub that into my skin for a few moments to remove my make up then I take this sponge that has nice warm water soaked into it and I do small circles all over my face removing the makeup & cleansing oil while exfoliating at the same time! My skin is dry, prone to flakiness & breakouts and I also have rosacea. If I do not exfoliate on a regular basis I get either flaky or I break out or both!! Ugh! So I decided to try the ‘plain’ version of this sponge because weekly exfoliating with a scrub was too harsh and just not regular enough to see real results.
This wonderful little sponge solved it all! It’s soft yet it really does the job! I actually skipped using it on twice because I was in a hurry (just used a m/u removed wipe) & the next day I noticed the flakiness starting to come back already!! So I know this is making a huge difference. The box says this will last (I believe) three months and I will tell you that after using I just rinse mine with plain water, squeeze it & then squeeze it again into a towel and hang to dry. Done! Doing this, each sponge has lasted me 5-6 months. When they are finally ready to be replaced then I keep the little ones (they shrink with use) and use them on my elbows & feet when in the tub!! They are $20 each at Sephora. You get points as a member…and if you wait they have sales where you can get 10-20% off! I stock up then…and I currently have 6 stashed away so I never run out!! Great stocking stuffers too! Your friends will love you for giving them the gift of flake-free skin!!

I purchased the Konjac Sponge Mini Trio during the sephora sale and exchanged them for the big clearing clay one because they’re too tiny and useless. I’m not in love with this sponge yet because it’s too soft and doesn’t really do anything. Will update…

I got my boscia konjac cleansing sponge a few months ago, the black charcoal infused one. Initially for cleaning the sponge is quite gentle and effectively exfoliates the skin, but after a while I’ve started to fear that there is a buildup of bacteria in the sponge and have decided that I don’t think it’s the most sanitary thing to put on my face.
There are many more effective exfoliants; the clarisonic I find can be just as gentle, as well as other handheld brushes similar to the clarisonic for a fraction of the price (such as olay’s electric cleansing brush)
This product was pretty expensive considering it’s just a sponge… I won’t repurchase it but I don’t regret trying it out to see what the hype was all about. Spare yourself!

This is a great product, but why pay the exorbitant price when you could get a product of equal value and performance for a fraction of the price? Boscia is capitalizing on its name and yet Ecotools has a perfectly good identical product.

This is so great for my skincare routine. I use it with the cleansing oil. Basically, I rub the oil all over my face and then use this sucker to get every little bit of my makeup off. It’s a gentle exfoliant, but it feels sooo good. It’s a very consistent exfoliation, too, it doesn’t matter if I press hard or not, so it’s easy to use. It’s gentle enough that I can use this on my eyes and get the remnants of my mascara off. It seems to somehow grab the makeup residue and lift it off. I rub it on my forehead, then rinse it, do one eye/cheek, rinse it, etc. and sometimes go back if I missed anything. It feels really good on my lips too for just a little exfoliation. It does come wet, in the packaging, which some people have been confused by (according to reviews on Julep’s site), but that’s intended. I don’t use mine in the shower so I just use the attached string to hook it onto my faucet. It dries most of the way in 24 hours, but you just toss it under the water to rehydrate.
I’ve bought all of the options – white (kaolin clay), black (charcoal), green (green tea). They’re all good but I like the white one the most.

Love it. Works great for everyday use because it’s not harsh like a scrub, and sometimes I’m too lazy to use my Clarisonic Mia. Smell reminds me of a natural sponge fresh from the ocean. The Julep version of this sponge has charcoal added, which I think is really helping to clarify my oil-overproducing stressed out skin right now.
I love that it comes with directions on how to use it (very simple…almost intuitive even), and love that it comes with a suction cup holder to hang it up and have it air dry.
I bought this as a add-on from their Maven program, so the cost was less than $10.

I recently bought the Boscia konjac sponge infused with complexion clearing clay and it’s been a month or so, and so far I love it! It’s good for everyday gentle exfoliation and I feel that it really does clean your face and prevent breakouts. I don’t use this everyday though! Just because I think it’d be to harsh on my skin for everyday. I use it on days where I wear more makeup than usual or on days I go to the gym.. Just to really clean all that sweat and dirt of my face. I think it did make a little difference in my skin and although it cost me around $22 at sephora(tax and everything) I would most likely repurchase 🙂

My sponge is white & round, the basic model! I like to use in shower in morning, a gentle facial cleanse. Pleasant way to start the day. Nothing dramatic, just feels nice.

I used this (the black one) until it disintegrated after about 2 months of daily use. Little pieces started to rub off where the string was attached. I finally chucked it and decided it was too expensive to repurchase. I may repurchase if I can get it for $10 or less, but I will definitely not pay $15 for this. I used to use a Clarisonic until it stopped working, and before this gently used the Salux Nylon Wash Cloth. The texture is fantastic at first, and then it quickly softens to the point where it’s doesn’t exfoliate as well. I think 1 month of use is best. And that’s too expensive for me.
Other than exfoliation, I didn’t get much else out of this. I recently bought a similar one from the drugstore at less than half the $15 Sephora price tag, and it’s too soft.
ALSO, these come in different colors depending on what it’s infused with. The black one is infused with Bamboo Charcoal, for example.
