I purchased this for my mom who’s on the never ending quest for the perfect foot file as she deals with dry/cracked heels and callouses, thought it would be a game changer! All I need to say that is we were both literally laughing as she was using it because of how small and flimsy this is as well as the oh so disappointing ability it has at actually filing. This gives the same effect as a dollar store foot file, and for $50 cdn? Returned

I have a LOT of foot files and buffers, from several emery ones to the Ped Egg, Tweezerman’s Pedro and a metal rasp by them that I believe was discontinued ages ago, as well as the battery powered Micro Pedi and my beloved (but hard to find) Heros Chiropody Sponge. This rasp from Diamancel beats all of them. It is thin, easy to use to get into small areas and to buff the side edges of my feet. While this is called a callus rasp, I use it for my whole foot area, adjusting the pressure as needed. It gets off the hardest, nastiest skin on my heels but also polishes and buffs other areas of my feet without hurting or being too harsh, simply by adjusting the pressure. This is on the pricey side for something fairly small but in hindsight, I wish I’d not wasted money on all those other foot files, pumices and buffers (except the Heros sponge) and just bought this. Believe me, it is so worth it!

I bought this after being frustrated with sandpaper-type foot files wearing out after one use and the ped-egg leaving my heels feeling fuzzy from leftover, un-sloughed skin. While I was initially leery of this file being so lightweight, it has serious exfoliating power, not taking much effort to make a big difference, and stands up to frequent use. It leaves my rough heels smooth and although the edges of this file are a little sharp, I’ve never cut myself on them. I love that I can sterilize it (I wash it with soap then let it soak in rubbing alcohol). I wish it came in a better, more durable sleeve, as I tuck mine back into its plastic sleeve after it’s dry. Well worth the cost ($38), I will be buying a second one for my husband.

While this little gem is pricey ($38) in my opinion it is totally worth it. I do not like the idea of using the razor callus removers. I find the idea of having to soak and/or treat my feet with a product containing alpha hydroxy acids too time consuming. Foot pumices, the ped egg, and other foot buffers just weren’t effective.
I love that I can buff my soles while dry, I find that I am better able to determine how much I need to buff without taking off too much skin with this tool. I’ve had it for about 6 months and see no signs of wear.
My feet are very happy!

Phenomenal foot file.
It seems flimsy and is very expensive, but it made my skin impeccably smooth on the first try.
I callous very easily and very badly… much worse than any man I’ve known. This has made me self-conscious for years.
The #20 file has changed my life.
It does take some time to file my feet down, but the result is pain free, even and buttery-soft, even before I apply cream. Just magnificent. Highly recommended.

after spending a week walking around nyc for miles in hot but rough-on-feet boots, my feet were a disaster. calluses, cracked heels, you name it. just awful. and that was this past winter. add to that a summer of sandals and we’re talking major cracks filled with city dirt and grime that no pedicure could heal. so i decide something needs to be done, and i happened to spot this file at my local sephora. too expensive? i thought so. then i read the reviews and literally rushed out to buy it. i couldn’t wait to get home to try it out. BE PREPARED FOR MAJOR EXFOLIATION. i had flakes coming off my feet for about an hour! but i literally couldn’t believe the results. we are talking baby skin! on my HEELS. without huge effort. i was so nuts about it i gave one to my sister who got rid of some calluses on her little toes that she claims have always been there! is it expensive? sure. but when you think about how much we spend on foot things (my list of purchases in the last year include bliss socks + salve, barielle/naturopathica foot creams, various sea salt scrubs and misc. buffing things, none of which worked), this is a STEAL. you need a simple lotion to get your heels in spectacular shape, for less than the price of most nicer pedicures. your body lotion will do. it is amazing! get one!
Tip (updated) – couple this with Amlactin for ridiculously smooth heels.

This was the most effective callus rasp that I found when I decided that enough was enough and the dead skin had to go!
So, my calluses had calluses. To top it off, I discovered that one of the calluses was a plantar wart as well. My heels were so dry that you could hear them snagging the sheets all night long in bed. It was awful. I tried Vaseline, shea butter, Bliss foot creams, DDF foot cream, Neutrogena foot cream. No foot cream could penetrate my reptilian heels. Then the skies opened up and a Diamancel rasp arrived via the man in the Big Brown Truck. The first rasp was the Diamancel #11. I tried it out. It produced copious amounts of foot skin dust but there was more work to do even after HOURS of sanding. A little online research, a credit card and a couple of days later the man in the Big Brown Truck came with the Diamancel #20. The #20 meant business. It was much tougher and worked much faster on my particularly abused feet. Needless to say, reptilian feet aren’t easily cured, but after a few HOURS of sanding with the production of a great amount of foot dust (gross gross gross), my feet were smooth and unrecognizable. There were still a couple of long calluses on the balls of my feet and the plantar wart was untouchable by the rasp because it was painful and not really meant to be rasped at, but everything else was gone, gone gone and beautiful but slightly rough skin was now exposed. I continued to use the Diamancel #20 on a weekly basis for awhile, but I developed an effective foot care program in the shower and I no longer need to use the Diamancel and my feet are baby bottom soft.
So, if you have truly problem feet, this is the bomb!!!
You might not really need it if you have nice feet to begin with.
PS – Don’t be scared of the price – – – it costs about the same as a pedicure or two and it beats pedicures even with “callus removal” by the pedicure girl. Pedicures are too short to actually get rid of reptilian skin. It’s gonna take elbow grease – – think sore forearms – – and the Diamancel 20 to make a difference.

Great product! I am on my 3rd year using this tool. I was very cautious at first due to the price, but clearly it’s been worth it. My feet are 49 years old, and look lovely due to this device (and Bliss Softening Sock Salve). I use it following a shower, after drying my feet well.
To clean, after each use I brush with a soft but stiff brush – it’s really an e/s brush that I cut short so it would have stiff bristles. I keep the brush in the same plastic sleeve so they are always together.
It’s well worth the investment.

I’m absolutely in love with this product. After mulling over the numerous foot file reviews, including #11, I decided to go with this one. #11 sounds more like a medium to fine file, which is just an expensive version of my favorite, Mr. Pumice. As directed, I first used this on completely dry feet. I was bit disappointed with the lack of progress. The second time, I used it after I showered and my feet were a bit damp. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Dead skin just sloughed off, like a snake shedding it’s skin. It worked even better the following trys, when I used it after a shower, but with dry feet. I have to say, my feet are the softness they have ever been. Even softer than after a professional pedicure. Also, I don’t have to use any other foot files anymore, just moisturizer. My only complaint is the flat handle, which is hard to keep a firm grasp on. All in all, I am very happy and look forward to using it everyday.

My HG foot file! I’ve had extremely dry, cracked (and *painful*) heels almost my entire life and I’ve used many, many foot files trying to get them into bearable condition and none of them (not even using my husband’s Dremel tool with a sanding attachment) came close to the effectiveness of this file.
It doesn’t look like it would do a good job of tackling severely dry heels since there’s only a very thin layer of grit on the file, but it got more dry skin off my heels and did it faster than anything else I’ve tried. It was also gentle enough that when I slipped and ran it across the un-calloused part of my foot, it didn’t hurt the way traditional files would have. I also liked that I didn’t need to use a buffer on my feet afterwards to get rid of any ragged edges or ridges since the little circles of diamond grit seem to act as a buffer and file all in one.
Thanks to a combination of this and DERMADoctor’s Feet Accompli (I got them together through the DERMADoctor website, otherwise I never would have heard of or tried this file), my feet are in (comparatively) amazing condition within just a few days and with very little effort.
