This used to be my Holy Grail of eyelash curlers, but I think they changed the pads from a fat rounded pad to a straight edged silicone, and it does NOT work as well, if at all. It is now comparable to Shisedo’s eyelash curler and IT doesn’t work either. I’m not one with straight Asian eyelashes (I’m not even Asian, but I understand the issue, ) and I never used to have a problem with curling my lashes…Am going back to try Revlon and Tweezerman for curlers that may work. I’ve spend $$ on Shisedo (sp) and Shu, and feeling ripped off as I will toss them in the garbage. I think it’s ALL in the rounded rubber pads, and that isn’t being done anymore with these two brands. Their straight silicone pad doesn’t work to achieve any uplift or curl at all. Any other opinions? Thx. Best.

This is the absolute best eyelash curler I’ve ever tried. I have large eyes and don’t care for eyelash curlers that are flat as opposed to curved a bit so this one is absolutely perfect for me. Also mine has stayed in great shape, it’s about 16 years old and still performs exactly like the first year I got it.

Easily five stars. I have typical Asian eyes – almond shaped with a slight to almost non-existent double eyelid and flat features aside from my nose (I also have Arab blood and my nose shows it). Before purchasing this, I tried Shiseido as well but I loved how Shu creates a natural looking but dramatic curl without that awful 45 degree angle sharpness (taco lashes, as someone hilariously and accurately described a few reviews below mine). Shiseido for me unfortunately gave me taco lashes. Shu does not. I have short and fine lashes and these curlers makes them look super voluptuous especially after some light coatings of mascara (Lancome Hypnose waterproof, the best for me). Sometimes I do not depend on just a single curler use per eye. I often “walk” the curler along my lash bed to grab the lashes that did not catch the first or second time, and curl again. Works all the time, this is sensible advise for anyone who complains that the curler doesn’t grab each and every lash. “Walk” the curler and curl again! It only takes 5 more seconds. A definite must-have for me.

I bought this a couple years ago due to the amount of rave reviews that it has and its been sitting in my drawers since. First, I have almond shaped eyes and the curler itself is too curved for my eye shape making it virtually impossible to get a full curl from the root. Second, the opening to this curler is very small that I can barely grab all my lashes from inner corner to outer corner.
I do not recommend this lash curler to anyone with similar eyes to me. I think that this would work better on someone with rounder eyes.

This is a great lash curler! If you already have long ashes look out… I’ve had to learn exactly where to go in for the fold lest my long lashes look like tacos! Comes with a few replacements pads, and With proper care and cleaning it’s very durable. I’ve had this longer than any eyelash curler I’ve ever owned & eyelashe curlers are my favorite implement.

I have used an eyelash curler for over 20 years. Revlon, Loreal etc. Whichever one was in the drug store aisle. I didn’t actually understand what the hype was over this one because I assumed they were all the same. I was wrong.
This is a bit of a different shape, making it extremely effective and somehow easier to use. I find it much easier to get close to my base line, and get all of my lashes…even the side ones.It is a bit flatter than the others.
I do not have great lashes, so I need all the help that I can get !!! This helps.

Best lash curler I have ever bought. It was a little daunting to use at first but I managed to get the hang of it and now is my go to for curling my lashes. Very comfortable to use, unlike the other ones where you were in danger of accidentally crushing your eyelids if you placed it too close to the lash line. I have recently discovered this brand and their products and their lash builder is the best as it made my lashes look longer and thicker and this lash curler did not disappoint!

To summarize, I think this is a sturdy, affordable, and budget friendly eyelash curler.
But if you’re an eyelash curler aficionado (me), an owner of perpetually straight lashes (also me), or just someone who doesn’t bother with mascara unless it’s waterproof (because how else can it hold a curl?) keep reading.
I bought this as a personal replacement for my Kevyn Aucoin’s eyelash curler (which is now in my professional kit), and I can say for myself that this is a better fit for my Asian, double lidded eyes than both the Shiseido and Shu Uemura eyelash curlers. (On that note, I think the Shiseido eyelash curler is better suited for “flatter” eyelids, especially for those who have monolids.) But mine are more “curved”, so to speak, and so I need a more concave curler.
The Muji eyelash curler is capable of curling all of my lashes in one go, which is fairly impressive considering most eyelash curlers on the market don’t. However, it’s not as comfortable to use compared to Kevyn Aucoin which is why my rating is not a five. The pad isn’t as “squishy” as the Kevyn Aucoin’s either, which means that my lashes look a bit more “crimped” than naturally fluttery. I also feel like this eyelash curler could potentially pinch me a lot more often if I wasn’t super used to using eyelash curlers.
However, I do like the design quite a lot. The body is silver with a black pad, and no logo. It appeals to my minimalist tastes. The other great thing is that Muji sells replacement pads for 1.50 pounds, which is pretty eco-friendly as that means you don’t have to buy another eyelash curler. That option puts it above a lot of the luxury eyelash curlers that claim that you have to replace it as soon as you run out of pads (insert me rolling my eyes.)
So in a nutshell, I think it’s not a bad product for someone who wants a non-fussy option for curling their eyelashes. The price is great and hard to complain about (seven pounds!) But to those who are a little boujee about their makeup, and don’t mind investment pieces, I really do suggest going out to the department stores and trying out eyelash curlers to see what’s the best fit for you. Eye shapes are all different and it’s hard to know what eyelash curler is best for you unless you try them in person.

Best eyelash curler I have found so far! I have tried both Shu & Shiseido and Muji ranks #1 for me (Shu #2, Shiseido #3). It seems to fit my eye shaper better. I found the Shiseido one too flat. The Shu one is a bit too long for my eye shape. Muji is just right. Plus it is only $10 Cad!

Just bought my second pair of shiseido curlers – I left my last pair which I had for 6-7 years on holiday. I’ve tried various brands in the past but these have been the best. I have slightly hooded eyes and straight eyelashes (seriously look like I have no lashes when I have no mascara on) and whilst other curlers do curl my lashes the same – these are the only ones which hold curl and added bonus of not pinching my eyelids.
I love that you can purchase refil pads for them – means you can keep them for years and years (as I have done in the past, and will do with this pair too!).
If you’re living in the UK – I’d recommend Shiseido over Shu’s and tweezerman – they’r easier to get refills from and work better IMO.

The hype on this is real! It really does a good job on curling my lashes! I paid $22 for it but i was getting lash lifts every other month and that was like $75 and I’m not going to do that anymore so this is actually going to save me money in the long run. It can pinch if you don’t do it right but overall I am very pleased with it.

My eyes are medium/small not pronounced and my lashes are fairly straight/unremarkable/fine. With the shiseido curler I don’t even need mascara it’s a huge game changer and it makes me look so much more awake.
I was deciding between the Kevin aucoin, shiseido and surratt curler for quite some time and chose this because it seemed to receive higher reviews among smaller set/smaller sized eye shapes and for those with straight fine lashes (me!). I am not at all disappointed with my choice and wish I had gotten rid of my tweezerman ages ago.

This is my go to eye curler. I have several, but this is the one that works the most. It is the most structured to my eye shape. When I use it it can feel a little tight, but that is only because it can get in closer to the ends of my eyelashes than every other curler ever has while still having the perfect curl. And it shows too! I have done one eye with one curler with the other with another and although the other curler doesn’t feel tight on my eyes for a few seconds, as this one does, it has very less impressive results. It also seems to separate the lashes better whilst curling too, some other curlers will make the lashes uneven, sticking/pushing sections together then you then have to separate and even out the lashes with your fingers. My shiseido seems not to do that as much as my other curlers. I bought it a while ago now after searching and reading very much on the best curler, and I am very happy I purchased this one.

I have been using a Revlon eyelash curler for months and have been underwhelmed by the way my lashes look lately. I thought something was wrong with my lashes and even looked in to extensions and Latisse! Then I realized I might be using a bad eyelash curler. I got the Tweezerman Classic eyelash curler in Rose Gold and was shocked that with just ONE press, my eyelashes were perfectly curled. With my other curler I would have to pump it five or six times to get a decent curl and it was probably damaging my lashes. This one was great, and I like that it comes with FOUR pads – one in the curler already and another three as extras. Yes, the curler is more expensive than most at 15.00 but when you think about the fact that you get four replacement pads it makes it totally worth it!

This curler was great for about three months. I was able to get very close to the root and reach lashes on the outer corner. Got a really great curl. Now it won’t curl at all, as if I just can’t get it to squeeze down enough even with replacing the pads. Such a bummer! I’d expect this to last much longer. I may repurchase to see if it was just a one time fluke, because when it was really a great curler while it lasted.

I bought my first tweezerman eyelash curler when I was 15 and went on to use them for 6 years until they broke. Obviously I had to change the pad every few months but that was easy to do as they were readily available at almost all drugstores and were quite inexpensive. After my first curler broke, I purchased the famous shiseido curler in hopes that it would be even better – but nope, it wasn’t. Fast forward 2 years and I’ve purchased a second tweezerman curler because I just can’t stand the shiseido one anymore.

Goodbye Shu Uemura, Hello Kevyn Aucoin! I used Shu Uemura for years, but decided to give the Kevyn Aucoin product a try. The first thing I noticed about this eyelash curler is how snug you can get it to the entire lashline. My lashes from end to end fit beautifully in this curler. The length and curvature of this curler closely parallels the human eye. Most other eyelash curlers are a little shorter and have a more severe curve, so you curl the middle lashes fine, but end up pinching both ends of your eyelids. Not so with this one! The Kevyn Aucoin curler has a smooth gliding motion, and the pad itself is excellent! The pad in the Kevyn Aucoin curler also doesn’t collapse like a foam rubber pillow when used, which leaves your lashes stuck in it, so when the curler is removed, lashes come out with it. It curls your lashes with very little pressure, so you look fresh, bright-eyed, and ready for the day! I couldn’t be happier, and I hope this product is never discontinued!!

I find this eyelash culrler performs better than a drugstore curler but I prefer other brands.
The curl with the Kevyn Aucoin is not very attractive looking on my eyes. I much prefer the Shiseido curler and the Shu Uemura over this.
I have had my Shu Uemura one last over 7 years and my Shiseido over 5 . Both give a very lifted doll look to my lashes . I slightly prefer the Shiseido for slight more lift but really those two curlers are about the same in quality and performance.
I really dislike how you can not buy replacement pads for the Kevyn Aucoin curler. I replace my pads every 4-6 months and this would mean this curler would be thrown out in a year.
I can buy replacements pads from Shiseido and they are reasonably priced. I like to keep my expensive lash curlers far longer than a year so not only poor curl performance but also not a long term product.

This is a solid eyelash curler and was my first foray into the high end lash curlers. Prior to buying this one I always used Revlon, ELF or whatever brand caught my eye at the drugstore or grocery store. While I wouldn’t call this a game changing curler, I will say it’s better than drugstore brands.
I find it helpful to follow Wayne Goss’ technique for lash curling by holding and pressing it for 30-60 seconds and lifting it a bit. My problem is that my lashes initially curl really well but a couple of hours later, not so much. This curler didn’t really make a difference on that score.

I recently noticed that the pad on my trusty Revlon red curler was split in two. Having been down that road before and having no desire to accidentally snip off my eyelashes again, I quickly went on the hunt for a new eyelash curler. After doing minimal research and reading reviews, I picked up a Shiseido curler at Ulta. While it gave a great curl, it was too flat for my eye shape and didn’t reach my lashes the way the Revlon did and the way I want it to, especially for a higher end curler. I went back to the Internet and scoured reviews and read Reddit tutorials. I decided to try the Kevyn Aucoin curler based on my rudimentary eye measurements and the fact that it has similar measurements to the Revlon curler, which worked very well for me in the past. (I couldn’t find the Revlon curler and figured I’d try higher end anyway.) I’m very happy with the decision. The KA curler fits my eye shape beautifully (for the most part because apparently my eyes have subtle shape differences) and gives a fantastic curl that can almost be TOO much curl if I’m not careful. It’s a bit expensive; however, it’s easy to find at Sephora or other higher end retailers. The mechanism is very basic and smooth and does exactly what I want it to do. I’m a bit disappointed that replacement pads aren’t available after the extra one provided with the curler is gone, but I understand the company recommends replacing the whole curler at that point. I like the actual pad better than the Revlon pad and find it to be firmer, hence giving a better curl with less effort. I definitely plan to repurchase.

I am blessed with long lashes and rely on eyelash curlers to keep them …. curled! These did absolutely nothing. They felt like there was no “Spring” attachment and they simply clamped down. They felt really cheap and nasty tbh. My 2 favourites are Mr Mascara and Tarte eyelash curlers and both are cheaper. An expensive bin product.

Not a bad eyelash curler, at least it doesn’t yank my lashes out like some of the others I’ve tried. At first it was rather stiff and the metal part that sits in front of your eye lid seemed large and awkward. But after a few trials, the curler loosened up just enough to work well. I’m sure it’s no Shu Uemura but for an inexpensive alternative you could do much worse. As with many others you do get a replacement pad which is always nice although I’m not sure I’ve ever seen cause to use it.

That said, I was pleasantly surprised by this.
I will say the only other eyelash curler I have ever tried was the Maybelline one, back when I was a teenager..that thing was nasty!! But onto this one..
It did a decent job curling my lashes (very good actually, imo), no pinching whatsoever…and my lashes stayed curled at the end of the day, some 8+ hours after I curled them. Very pleased. I only held the curler closed on my eyelashes about 10 to 12 seconds. It worked very well!!

If you want this to work, it won’t. Your lashes will not be curled. If you bought this and are as unhappy as I am, heat it up with a hair dryer until you purchase a new one. That works for me.

Sadly this is the only eyelash curler I have ever used. Up until now I thought they were all the same but after seeing what higher end ones do I am purchasing a better one. This seems to do next to nothing for curling and it pinches a little. I get a curl after going over them tons of times but when I put mascara on, its gone.
I figured this is what all curlers do. Apparently not, its just Revlon’s brand and some other cheaper brands that do this. On the flip side, this does last a long time. I have had two of them for 10 years with no loose parts or any damage.

This curler puts a strange crimp in the lashes on one eye and does a reasonable job with the other. I previously used the regular Tweezerman curler, but it wasn’t wide enough for my eyes. it also pinched. While the TMc doesn’t pinch as badly as the Tweezerman, the pad doesn’t span the width of the curler; therefore, some of the eyelashes are left out of the device when I use it. The curl isn’t as exaggerated as it should be either. The Tweezerman, with its faults, placed a great curl. The Trish McEvoy is too expensive for the lackluster performance.

I’m very happy with this eyelash curler. I bought this on a whim to replace my Shiseido curler that I had bought replacement pads for a few times before. Eyelash curlers really depend on your eye shape, but this is a nice one!

Best curler I’ve ever tried *for my eye shape*. The key to liking vs. not liking an eyelash curler is how it fits the shape of the eye. The Shu curler, which seems to top the “best of” lists, does not fit my eye because the curve is too shallow. In contrast, the Trish curler has a deeper curve; hence, it wraps around my lids well and curls all the lashes and doesn’t pinch. It also curls easily – one good squeeze is all it takes. I agree with the grip below that can’t buy the refill pads, but the curler is go great in every other way I can’t knock off points for it, especially since I used my old Trish for a couple years a before finally replacing with a new one last fall. (tip: to double the life of the pad, when you feel it’s time to replace, take it out and flip it upside down – voila! new pad at your service).

I have a love/hate relationship w/ this curler. Let me start off by saying that I love it and feel it’s the best one out there. I have almond eyes that have stick straight lashes. This curled them w/ minimal effort, no pinching or pulling and they actually stayed curled hours later. I can’t believe this curler doesn’t get more hype. However it doesn’t come w/ refill pads anymore and you can’t purchase them separately like you can w/ Shiseido’s. Seeing how expensive it is, I think it’s a real kick in the butt about the refills. Basically it was a deal breaker for me. I don’t want to have to keep buying a new curler when all I need is a new pad. That is why I quit using it. The story has a happy ending because I found Shesiedo’s curler and love it.

I have long upper lashes. Unfortunately they go straight down over my eyes. Forget curling mascara. I have been “curling” my eyelashes over twenty years with Mabelline, Cover Girl, and Revlon curlers. I figured the more expensive curlers were all hype, how difficult could it be to manufacture a good curler? I was wrong. This CURLS my lashes. I haven’t tried the other expensive lash curlers, so I can’t compare this to them. Until the drugstore brands fix their products, I strongly suggest trying the more expensive ones.

I grew unimpressed with the results I was getting out of my old Shu Uemura curler that I’d been using with Shiseido refill pads for years until it seemed to start getting bent out of shape – and I disapprove of Shu Uemura not selling any refills of their own, it just seems so wasteful, so wasn’t eager to buy another. And thus I read up on all the 4,5 to 5-lippy-rated eyelash curlers on MUA and bought this instead.
Well, the people who say that this is better than Shu Uemura are not wrong.
It is a fairly standard curler with a cute paintjob and a purple silicone pad. It fits my large European eyes with thick lids just fine (I’m lucky that I’ve somehow never had any issues with curlers pinching, so I cannot say if this pinches more or less than the others). The thing that makes this curler different seems to be that the pad is harder than usual, so you don’t get that kink in your lashes that curlers with too-soft pads tend to give. The curve this gives me looks very natural, and yet it’s higher and more intense than anything I could get out of my old Shu.
The only minor downside is, while I don’t think I’m anything near sausage-fingered, the loops for fingers on this one are certainly made for small, delicate hands. It takes a second to make sure my thumb is where it needs to be, but I’ve improved with practise.
The packaging mentions just 900 yen as the recommended price in Japan; getting it from eBay cost me ~22 € with shipping, which I still consider within the medium range, and quite reasonable given the quality. Would definitely buy again.

I am now on my second one for this curler. I have small Asian eye shapes and it is difficult to find a curler that will fit properly. I loveeeeeeeee Anna Sui! I tried Tarte and had to return it. The space on the top isn’t too wide so it doesn’t hit my eyelid. Hard to explain but this thing is soooooooo worth it. Got mine from Korea both time! 🙂

I’ve tried several eyelash curlers by Revlon, Koji, Shiseido, and Shu Uemura, and this one by Anna Sui is the best one. There is no pinching at the skin and it makes the perfect curl. The rubber silicone piece is nice because it’s softer which helps curl the lashes without putting too much pressure. It’s about $19 but I would repurchase it again when I need to.

Cover Girl Eyelash Curler fits the curvature of my lash line to a T. I don’t have to ever so carefully place the curler on my lashes, nor worry about pinching. For the record – I have medium sized, deep-set, almond shaped eyes. That info might help someone out with the same shaped eyes.
I’ve been blessed with clear skin, but not blessed in the “long lashes and prone to curl well” department. To those of you born with luscious, long lashes…..Oh, how I envy you. 🙂 The spring in this curler isn’t very tight, so I have to curl my lashes twice to get a good curl before applying mascara. Bought a tweezerman curler this past winter, and the spring is so tight feel as if I am going to rip out lashes. Thank goodness it never happened, but the tight squeeze makes me uncomfortable. CG curler never feels as if it’s going to rip out lashes, and don’t feel it’s an inconvenience to curl lashes twice.
Purchased my most recent CG curler at the grocery store on sale for $3.99. Can’t beat the price! The only reason I have a tweezerman is the local d/s didn’t have the CG curler on the rack, so I purchased the tweezerman for $13.50.
CG curler pads are no longer sold separately, but for the price of the curler, purchasing a brand, spankin’ new eyelash curler is a non-issue for me.

I’ve been using this curler for as long as I remember. However, now that they no longer provide refills, I’m going to have to move on. I bought some Maybelline refills (which are silicone, not the old-school rubber) and they don’t fit quite right, and end up bending some of my eyelashes down, instead of up. The silicone pads are curved on top, and the original pads were flat, so the metal doesn’t hit it right. I’m going to get a Maybelline curler (to fit the pads I bought); hopefully that will work, and I have pads to last me a while!
Cover Girl: if you’re going to discontinue the refills, you might as well discontinue the curler itself.
btw, it seems from comments on Cover Girl’s website that they changed this curler, and it’s smaller now. Those of us who bought them a long time ago are probably more satisfied than more recent purchasers.

PROS: Well, it’s an eyelash curler. That’s about it for me.
CONS: Pinches easily. Doesn’t curl well. I prefer almost any alternative out there.
ALTERNATES: Shiseido has one that has less curve and whose curl lasts a lot longer than this one. You can also buy Shiseido replacement pads without having to buy a curler. If you don’t want to spend that much, I thought Revlon’s Extra Curl Curler was much better than this Covergirl one.

I like this a lot. What negative complaints am I missing? It curls great but my only con is it takes a few uses to get curled lashes & it punches sometimes. It was 6 bucks at Target and has lasted me almost a year. I’d repurchase.

My first eyelash curler and I don’t have any complaints or anything to compare it to, but it curls my lashes, and its pink and cute. If you want to try it out, BUY IT. I mean it was $3 and it came with an eyelash and brow brush. Thumbs up 🙂 But next time I would try a new one.

I really wanted to like this one, but I guess it was stupid to expect miracles from a cheap eyelash curler. The first problem I had was its shape as the curler just wouldn’t catch all of my lashes. And no matter for how long I kept holding it, this thing just wouldn’t curl my lashes at all.

This one is awesome!! I found this at Shoppers, and that SDM is a special beauty boutique, so they carried Shiseido as well; since Shiseido’s get’s excellent reviews, I decided to compare this w/ the Shiseido curler. And guess what? These two were SO identical to each other, if the curler did not have the brand name labeled, I’d def. mix up these two! I went for this one, because it was few bucks cheaper on sale. Now I have been using this for a few months, I am very satidfied with the product, I’ll def. buy is again and again. BTW I have tiny, flat asian eyes!

I don`t like it, the curved part does not fit my asian eyes (and it`s supposed to to fit asians nicely since the company is being run by mostly Hong Kong ppl!) and the metal part on the bottom jabs me in the cheek. Used it once and into the junk box it went! UPDATE: I have found the best eyelash curler ever–>Shiseido’s! 🙂

This is my favourite eyelash curler. I have two different Shiseido ones as well, but I prefer this one. It doesn’t pinch, it gets all my lashes at once, and opens wide enough but not too wide. The result is always a nice curl, never a crimp. I’ve been using it for years, and now the pad finally needs replacing. I don’t think it included a replacement pad.

I’m a slave to eye lash curlers. I have very straight lashes and this product curled them fine. What I do is that I curl with curler, apply mascara, dry then re-curl. This curler worked and price was great. So worth it and comfortable to use.

I think finding the perfect eyelash curler is kind of hit and miss until you find the one that fits your eyes the best. With that said, this is actually the first eyelash curler I bought. Since then I have bought 3 other curlers (Shu, Shiseido, and ELF) and I prefer this one over all the others.
I am Asian and single lidded and this curler fits around my eyes almost perfectly. The length of the curler is about the same as my eyes and the curvature is just about perfect. Note here that this curler is almost IDENTICAL to the Shu Uemura curler. I have both so I compared. The length and the curvature of the head is identical. And even the clamps and the loops you put your fingers through match up O.O Though you can’t pull the Shu curler back as much and you can kind of feel the metal scratching when you clamp down.
The pad of this curler is also a bit softer than the Shu curler, so make sure you don’t clamp down on your lashes too hard or it’ll look more like a crimp than a curl. I usually just clamp it on the inner most part of my lash once, and then go outwards clamping it down once each time ~3 or 4 times. I don’t hold it there, just clamp and release. And these pads last for a loooong time (unlike the ELF pads -_-)
In comparison to the other curlers and why they all aren’t as superior as this one:
1. The ELF curler is too curved for my eyes and the sides dig into my eyelids. The pad gets almost sliced in half after like 5 uses. Well, you get what you pay for
2. The Shiseido curler is way too flat even for my eyes… The middle of the curve pokes me in the eye every time I use it. The pad is nice and bouncy though so I might just take it out and use it on my SK curler once my SK pads are worn out
3. The Shu curler is my favorite after the SK curler. I have this one at home and use the SK one at school~

I love this eyelash curler. It certainly does the trick with curling my short, sparse eyelashes. It doesn’t pinch either. Easy enough to buy at Target. As usual, SK makes another good implement.

This seems like a nice eyelash curler, it is probably the most I have spent on one, it doesn’t pinch and beats the sally hansen one. I still want to give the mac or even the Shu a go if I can one day, but for now this works just fine.

Have been using this for over two years now. Very dependable, sturdy tool; better than any other eyelash curler I have found at Target prices. Never pinches or pulls and no gaps between the clamp. Does the job!

I am half Asian and have a less rounded eyeshape and straight eyelashes. I’ve been using the Shu curler for years but recently bought the SK curler at Target when I left my makeup bag at work over a weekend. Before purchasing, I compared it to a few others in the store and found it to be less curved from the overhead view. It most reminded me of the Shu curler so I went with it. Works great for me! No pinching or any other issues. I use with waterproof mascara to hold my curl. I curl (pump a few times, then hold for about 5 seconds) then apply mascara.
Mine came with a little clip containing refill pads.
To keep it clean I swipe my Ponds facial wipes on the metal and pads.

This is a really well made tool. The product I bought came with a refill pad. It curls my lashes really well and fits nicely in my hand. I’ve always used a Revlon curler but I was unhappy with the last one because the pad frayed soon after I bought it. The SK one looks like it will last awhile.

This is by far the best eyelash curler I have ever used. I have tried so many and even spent tons of money on the high end curlers and just was never impressed. I read the reviews on here an bought one and I was blown away. This curls my lashes great and the curl last almost all day. It is so affordable that I’ve bought a couple. One to keep at home and one for my purse and will buy more just in case they discontinue it. Couldn’t live without it!!

Been using this curler for years. I have gone through MANY — Revlon, L’Oreal, Covergirl (sucky, sucky, and sucky) & even Japonesque (liked quite a lot, but not enough to rebuy over this). This curler does the job it is supposed to. Curls well & cheap. I buy from Walmart, a couple at a time. I have never had one break, but like to replace them anyway. Highly recommended!

I had this eyelash curler for more than two years and still hasn’t broken down on me. I have gone through E.L.F, Tarte and of course Revlon eyelash curlers and I come back to N.Y.C. This was my first eyelash curler and works just as good as I bought it from the start. I have to say though, the replacement pads didn’t last. So, I replaced it with a Sally Hanson one and it hasn’t been worn out at all!! The price to this is affordable and I love overall look to this product. Highly recommend. It beats out the high end ones in my opinion. Stop looking and get this one as fast as you cannnnnnnnn. (Taylor Swift quote lyric from Dear John on that last few words.)

I really haven’t have any other eyelash curlers, so I’m wondering to myself: What makes a good eyelash curler? I’m guessing the material. The material on this is metal and lightweight, but not flimsy or bendable. So, this eyelash curler is (1) made of good material and (2) curls eyelashes. What more could you want?
I got this for free because my aunt was a MK consultant, but looking at the price online, I see it’s selling for $5 which I’d say is a good deal.
I gave this a 5/5 on the packaging because it didn’t come in any special packaging, and I keep that bitch nice and tucked away in my makeup bag.

This is like an average eye lash curler and maybe it was just mine by mine was crooked because it did not curl properly! My curler was poorly made but it was GWP so I’m not complaining, however if I had to pay for this I would not purchase it. I have given mine away.

this review is for the metal eyelash curler. i just received this in a swap, and i am majorly impressed! it does just what an eyelash curler should do- gives your lashes great, precise, stand up curl. it doesn’t pinch and doesn’t seem to leave out the lashes on my outer lid (a big pet peeve of mine!) so i don’t have to reposition it and do multiple curl sessions. lately i had been seriously thinking about chucking my old Maybelline e/l curler and investing in a Shu, but since buying the NYC one and this one, i see that’s so unnecessary. would def repurchase.

My mother got this curler for free with one of her Mary Kay orders, I think. It’s pink, white and pastel green plastic with silicone pads. My mom doesn’t wear any makeup, so it just sat unused in her drawer. A couple of months ago I stole it and tried it myself.
The only other curler I’ve owned was a pink sparkly plastic one from NYC, and I don’t remember it being much good. This one on the other hand gives a nice curl to my lashes, and when I apply mascara after I’ve used it, I notice a big difference than if I hadn’t used a curler.
My only issue with it is sometimes I’ll catch my lower lashes in it by accident and it pulls on them and it hurts. But that’s probably just because I lack skill. Haha. I like it enough that I use it about 95% of the time. If I’m in a huge rush, I’ll skip it. But I really like the extra oomph it gives to my lashes.

After I started to realize what a difference using an eyelash curler on lashes before applying mascara could make, I decided to go out and buy a curler! I picked up the Revlon gold curler to begin with, because I thought it would be the best option since it seemed to be the most expensive at CVS. This was before I was aware of Makeup Alley though..or else I would have never bothered! I noticed it pinched my eyeballs and the curl wasn’t that great…Being unhappy, I decided to try my roomate’s Mary Kay pink handled eyelash curler one day because she always has great lashes (even though i know she doesn’t invest much in mascara) and wow!
I just used it today with some CoverGirl Fantastic Lash, and it has held my lashes beautifully! They are still in a perfect curled shape, that my Revlon curler never gave me. I wish they sold this in stores, I would definetely run out and buy it.

I have deep set eyes and this curler doesn’t work for me. The upper plate is too large for me to be able to put the curler close to the roots of my lashes. The maximum I can do is to curl the lash upper half. Not a flattering look from the side, no difference from the front.
Completely useless tool for deep-set eyes, like any other lash curler I ever bought (MAC, Shiseido, Talika, and some from Amazon).
P.S. I think the shape of this curler generally fits Caucasian eyes better than Shiseido since it’s more curved. For monoids, Shiseido will be the better option.

Yes, it really is that good.
The shallower angle of the curved part (facing the eye) allows you to clamp lashes close to the roots, creating more lift. I held off buying this for so long as I couldn’t see what it could have over other curlers, but the shape of it allows better inclusion of all your upper lashes when you clamp them. Only cost me £8 too, but I’ve only had to replace the pad once since I bought it 5 years ago.

I’ve been looking for a good eyelash curler. I usually just buy the drug store one but I decided to splurge and both the shisedo eyelash curler at Macy’s. Boy what a waste of money. I have hooded Asian eyes which many of the reviews lead me to believe that this would be perfect. It’s not. It curls my lashes in all different directions with huge gaps between the lashes. This has never happened to be before. I’ve had this over a year and I can not make it worth for me. It’s terrible. Also, it gives me horrible looking curls. I doesn’t give me the nice curve to the curls. Don’t waste your money.

I can’t believe I haven’t tried this eyelash curler earlier! I’ve used cheap drugstore curlers and ended up using the MAC eyelash curler the past couple years after a nightmare of an experience with Smith drugstore eyelash curler that ended up ripping out the lashes on my right eye.. this Shiseido eyelash curler is perfect if you Asian like me. The Mac curler was great but always kind of poked the outsides of my eyes with the frame because it’s more curved than the Shiseido eyelash curler. I love this one it works wonders for my Asian almond shaped eyes and gets all of my lashes unlike any other eyelash curler I have tried.

I’ve owned this eyelash curler for years now. I also have the Shu Uemura one. They look pretty the same and you can buy Shiseido pads for both of them. HOWEVER! There is a teeny tiny difference (besides the price, hhhh) that makes me like the Shiseido curler more. The upper part of Shiseido curler is a bit smaller which makes it a better option for deep set\hooded eyes.

Insider tip: I snap a few of these bad boys up for $12 each at the Makeup Show. My first one lasted for a year (I used both pads) and would gladly pay full price ($21) if I was pressed to do so. Thankfully, I don’t have to.
My eye shape can be seen if you check out my pictures on this makeupalley account. I’m Asian with double lids and my eyelashes are pin straight, so curling my lashes before applying waterproof mascara is a must for me if I decide to wear makeup. My eyes are asymmetrical but this eyelash curler works well with both.
I’ve never ripped out eyelashes with this curler, even on the very very rare day when I decide to curl my eyelashes /after/ mascara application. It doesn’t pinch my lids either.
Curlers I have tried in the past: Koji No. 73, Revlon, e.l.f. , Shiseido, New York Color.
Kevyn Aucoin beats all of them hands down in terms of ease, results, and comfort. Holy Grail.

I was a die hard shu uemura curler user for YEARS. This year, I decided it wasn’t worth the effort of trying to get another one since they are harder to buy in the US. Kevyn Aucoin is a fantastic replacement. I honestly think it grabs more of my lashes than shu. Great curl. Only complaint is that the replacement pad doesn’t come in plastic but oh well.

I’ve been using the same, not great, eyelash curler (La Cross) for years and years for my stick straight, fine yet long eyelashes, and finally am hunting for a better one. This isn’t it. While I find this does do a much better job at curling my lashes, after going over each eye roughly 2-3x, the chrome on the back of the curler has already worn off after about 2.5 weeks and now the metal leaves a dingy residue on the skin under my eyes where the metal rests during curling. Ugh. Hence the 2 rating for the “packaging quality.” I never had this problem with the La Cross. The residue that is left behind is hard to remove, especially since I curl my lashes after applying foundation and under eye concealer. I’ve cleaned the curler just prior to use and it still happens. It’s like the base metal itself is transferring color to my skin. I do love the cushy-ness of curler, though. Maybe I’ll just try transferring the pad back to my old La Cross. Prior to this I tried an ELF eyelash curler, which I threw out after 3 uses. The pad stuck to my lashes after I curled them and pulled them out each time.
I’m saving my pennies for a Shu Uemera.

I bought this at the Bergdorf beauty event, only because the Trish SA swore that this “new and improved” version was much better than my beloved Shu curler. I am glad that I took the chance, because it works much better for my eyes, which are large, so it reaches the entire row without pinching at either end. On the other hand, the curl does not last all day unless I squeeze it longer than I did with the Shu curler, but perhaps that is only because it is new and the rubber pad needs to be broken in. So for now, it gets five lipsticks, if only because of the whole no-pinching thing.

I am surprised so few people had tried this curler.. it is sooo underrated as compared to its other Asian counterparts like Shu Uemura and Shiseido.
I tried plenty of lash curlers cos I am obsessed with nice, curly lashes.. and let me tell you, this one is the best!!! many times better than shu or shiseido, and even my previous HG Sana lash curler paled in comparison! I just need to do a tiny pinch with this curler and my lashes will point right up and stay that way the whole day…
Are I impressed? Impressed is still an understatement here!

I have tried many eyelash curlers and all before this one have failed me. They pinch my eyelid and don’t keep the curl the lashes on my asian eyes. I’ve been using lash growth products so my lashes are no longer sparse and short but I think the lash curlers did not make those curlers for asians. I suppose they thought we didn’t have enough lashes to curl anyways 😉

Takes a few tries before this eyelash curler actually works due to the stiffness of the silicone pad it comes with. However, it’s a decent eyelash curler. Probably wouldn’t repurchase due to the fact that this costs $5 when there are other ones out there that cost $1 – $2 and give the same results.

When i look at tutorials on using other eyelash curlers, it seems like they curl a lot better than this! I only thought that it worked for like 3 days since it was my first one! URG! it is not very good!
