   Spiffing,great,remarkable product.imnot exaggerating,its true.no matter how many layers of mascara i applied to my lashes,the heated lash curler will kind of separate them and hold the curls.i use it even on my lower lashes and i didnt get burnt at all.However i wish that the lash curler can be more delicate.its way too huge to me.

   I got this online and know that it was fairly inexpensive. I’ve used other heated curlers before and liked them. I love this one. First of all, if you have lashes like mine (straight, short, sad), then you’re probably already using a curler and waterproof mascara. I use a Shu or a Shiseido metal crimper first, then apply mascara, THEN after completely dry, I use this. It’s also great for touch-ups during the day because no matter what I do (and I’ve been working on my pathetic lashes for more than 30 years now), they always go a little flat/straight later in the day. This curler puts them right back where I want them very quickly and easily. I think the people giving it low reviews are using it on clean lashes. I’ve tried this and really, it doesn’t work which is why I’ve kept my metal curlers. You need to have a good coat of mascara on first.

   I too have straight asian lashes and this curler managed to give my lashes a nice sweeping curl. The key is the apply a good amount of mascara FIRST, let it dry, then curl. You have to hold the curler near the base of you lashes for about 10 sec then slowly my up to the rest of the lashes. It does take some practice with the right technique, but it doesn’t take too much to get the hang of it.

   I don’t usually review products unless I am absolutely sure that I love or hate them. This product has certainly surpassed my expectations. I’ve been using it nonstop for the last few days and have stopped wearing eyeliner to “show off” how long my lashes appear. I am also Asian, short, straight lashes. I don’t normally wear mascara or curl my lashes because they ‘droop’ after a few hours. The strength of this curler is that it actually maintains the curl for 8+ hours. I curl once before I apply mascara and afterwards as well. I’m using a random Clinique mascara that I found and it’s surprisingly quite good. I would make sure to allow the mascara to dry on lashes before curling…otherwise, you may encounter the “sizzling” effect which can’t be good for your eyelashes. Another “plus” is that post-mascara, I don’t have to worry about losing a clump of eyelashes while curling (which I know is a big no-no, but everyone does it!) However, I did notice that when I was removing my mascara, that a couple of eyelashes fell off. This might be due to my “over-mascaraing”.

   With regards to the heat – yes, it is warm, but I didn’t find it getting too hot. My trick is to place them near baseline and tilt it up as if I”m trying to get my eyelashes to touch my eyelids.

   It’s worked well thus far and certainly worth the $16.95 US (I found it on eCrater)

   I am Asian, I have eyelashes which stick straight downwards (though luckily they aren’t too short) and need some serious curling power in order to open my eyes up. I have relied on my Shiseido eyelash curler for YEARS before even deciding to give this a try. The only reason why is because the Eyecurl eyelash curler has had so many good reviews and because I don’t know if its because of me getting older or what, but I seem to notice fewer eyelashes than like, ten years ago(!), and since the Eyecurl curler proposes to eliminate the common issue of tugging out any eyelashes you have in the process of curling lashes (unlike the usual metal clamp-type curlers like the Shiseido). So I gave it a try. Luckily I bought it for cheap off Ebay, it cost me only about £7. Well I eagerly heated it up and placed it on my lashes. Wow, it sure feels hot. I’ve got sensitive eyes and this curler really felt like a hot iron being placed close to my eyes. It was seriously uncomfortable, my eyes were starting to tear a little… and my lids actually started feeling a bit itchy?! Besides, let’s get to the second, and the most important point about this product. It DOES NOT CURL my lashes at all. Nope. Aside from the discomfort that the heat from the Eyecurl curler causes to my eyes, it takes ages for the Eyecurl to even get anything like a semi-lift on my lashes. After fiddling around with it for a few minutes, and I still see hardly any curl on my lashes (but am now getting a rather itchy and irritated lid with slightly teary eyes), I ditched the damn thing and picked up my trusty little metal clamp-type Shiseido eyelash curler, and voila, in seconds, I get the curve and the lift I need on my lashes to make them look beautiful!

   Honestly, all this product has done is to make me realise that I didn’t know what a good thing I had – i.e. the Shiseido curler, until I tried out the Eyecurl crap.. I don’t mind losing a few lashes from using the Shiseido curler now. At least, it does what its supposed to do, and it does it so well! And I don’t think its very likely I will lose all or even most of my lashes from using it. … But Eyecurl… gosh… I really don’t think its such a safe product you know, with all the discomfort it causes to my eyes. It gets seriously hot at the maximum temperature, plus it doesn’t work well at curling lashes at all! Maybe it would work, if I placed it on my lashes for longer, but I just don’t have the time to fiddle around with this for 10 minutes a day before I rush out of my house everyday.

   OMG where do I start??? I am Asian and everyone knows that we were given the short end of the sticks when it came to luscious long lashes 🙁

   I wear falsies all the time but there are days that I just feel like going natural. However, I do NOT like the straight and boring short lashes. I’ve tried the Revlon curler – BOOO – thumbs down. It not only pinched my eyes but it also crimped my lashes instead of curled them. So back to the drawing board – read that Shu Eumera was the “ideal” curler for Asian lashes. OK off to Ulta to pick one up. I was soooo excited to get home and try this…so I tried it on my son LOL. I had falsies on so I couldn’t test on myself. He was such a trooper! Ok, it curled his lashes and I was so stoked to really try it on my eyes. Next day – applied clear mascara and warmed up the curler to curl my lashes. Must’ve done something wrong – my lashes curled/crimped straight up….oh NO! Definitely not the look I was going for. Tried this curler several time and decided the squeezer/curler was not for me.

   I researched and researched and read up about the heated wand curlers. Very skeptical – “wouldn’t it burn my skin or lashes off”. I was browsing Walgreens when I ran into the Revlon heated wand on clearance for only $4.96 – nothing to lose so I tried it. Love it!!! OMG – the heated curler was PERFECT!!! However, didn’t like the Revlon’s battery life at all. You pretty much have to use 1AAA battery per usage in order to maintain a stable heating temperature. So I looked on youtube for heated curler and the EYECURL II showed up! So eBay was my next stop (couldn’t find it anywhere here in the US). Got it for about $15.

   BUY the EYECURL II – you will NEVER go wrong. There is a proper way to use it. You do not brush the wand like a mascara but instead, you put the heated tip right at the base of your lashes and hold it in place – in less then 10 sec – your lashes curl up!! I LUV IT!

   Here’s a hint – once your lashes curl up and since mine was still straight – I gently use the wand toward the tip of my lashes and pushed it down to give it a more natural curl. They look like falsies! I’ve been using it for over a month and my lashes are still intact 🙂 I love it! LUV IT – LUV IT!

   FINAL VERDICT – go BUY it!!! It’s the best investment. I actually ordered another one just in case the one I have dies on me. I don’t want to go without this thing!!

   I don’t have the same problem some people do. My lashes aren’t stick straight and they don’t point down. Mine are just a little crazy. They grow every which way and are extremely hard to tame. My bottom eyelashes are as long as my top and when I use a normal eyelash curler, a few of them always manage to get stuck in with the top ones. So, I have to deal with my top and bottom eyelashes sticking together all day. Fun!

   So, I thought this little tool would be the answer. First off, you can NOT use this after you apply your mascara like others have mentioned. It simply melts it off onto the curler and creates a disgusting mess. So then you just have to reapply your mascara anyway, so why even bother applying beforehand??? You kind of comb it through your lashes veeeeeeeeerrrry slowly and then hold it to set the curl. You can also use it on your bottom lashes to tame them, if they misbehave like mine do.

   Bottom line: It works, IF you have the time to mess with it. It takes a while to achieve a nice effect. And it does last for quite a while, but not nearly an entire day. I’m saving mine for special occasions. =)

   I have naturally long and thick lashes (considering that I’m still young). I was told to have beautiful eyes heaps before but I never believe them because what I really want is to have a curl to it. The problem is, the regular eyelash ‘curlers’ never curl my lashes. Instead they bend or crimp them creating an unnatural look and making those ‘curls’ look so fake. Another problem is it rips my lashes tons before and it hurts like…. URGHH! I’m not done yet! The ‘curlers’ also pinched my sensitive skin around the eye area and I cried before because of it! Maybe its just me? I used the Shu Uemura by the way. How I just wished I have bambi lashes!

   I heard about Eyecurl II somewhere in the internet and was tempted to buy it online but never gets the chance. They’re kinda expensive but I’m willing to try it to see what the raves all about. One day, I went shopping with my sister and went into SASA outlet and guess what we found?! One of those Eyecurl II’s hanged on the shelves. I immediately bought it for RM49.90 which is approximately $USD14 . Went home and tried it out!

   Works like a charm! I got a natural-looking curl and it just look sooooo natural! This is how I use it. First, I curl my lashes with my Eyecurl II and put mascara on my lashes. I use Maybelline Great Lash in clear btw for a natural look. And then I lock them up by curling my lashes with the Eyecurl II once again. That sets my lashes curled all day! I threw my Shu Uemura so-called eyelash ‘curler’ (Seriously, they should change the name to an Eyelash Crimper or something) as soon as I found out how great this nifty tool is.

   Although it kinda ‘burned’ my skin once or twice, I’d rather get ‘burned’ than get pinched my those thongs! Its sooooo worth the price! Glad I found it! =D

    I hate to be the one to bring the ratings down but I have to be honest. I purchased this product off of ebay, brand new, because of all the rave reviews here. I was sooo excited. I was expecting it to be a cheap quality (and it was) but I was also expecting it to work way better than regular eyelash curlers (and it didn’t.)

    I really think this was a waste of my $15. It curled my eyelashes half way. I also waited for a good minute to have the eyecurl heat up and even after 5 minutes of usage my eyelashes barely even curled. It just didn’t work on me. I didn’t even have any mascara on whatsoever. All in all this product was a waste of my money. Time to save up for a Shiseido lash curler. =(
