These are very so-so sponges. I don’t like the shape of them, it is very difficult getting into the creases around the nose. I wouldn’t buy again, I rather the triangular wedge sponges I can get from Priceline that cost half as much for 12 or so sponges. I also find when I am trying to build up coverage using these sponges, they tend to dab the foundation off the skin instead of building more up.

Sponges have since the introduction of flat/angled and fibre optic/duo fibre brushes been deemed an old fashioned, 80’s/90’s way to apply foundation and concealer.
What a very foolish, unjust notion. I have used these so called duo fibre brushes to apply, stipple and “buff” my foundation into place and they leave just as much streak and paint brush marks as do the original standard flat/angled foundation brushes. You then have to go back and blend the streaks! Why bother when the direct control, application and ease of a foundation(damp will absorb less or none at all) sponge, applied in the middle of the face working towards the perimeter of the face is so easy I don’t understand why people have such a problem with it.
Laura Mercier is one of the few brands besides M.A.C that actually sell sponges for make-up application. The only time you will get a sponge with a foundation included is when it happens to be a cream to powder foundation or compact powder.
These are non-latex, durable sponges that don’t pill, don’t aborb an insane amount of foundation (all sponges absorb foundation to some extent and personally with these new wave fibre optic/dou fibre brushes or even a standard flat/angled foundation brush they too can absorb foundation, don’t tell me they dont) and cleans easily.
To extend the life of these fantastic sponges, clean after each and every use. The way I clean my sponges, I first use a cleansing oil, yes cleansing oil, I figured if cleansing oil can remove makeup without leaving a residue and being harsh to skin why should it perform the same on sponges and brushes? I then follow with a dish washing liquid detergent, as I have heard from Cosmetic Chemists that this is the one of the strongest detergents you have in your household next to Laundry liquid. Pat dry with a clean cloth, leave to dry then spritz with Isopropyl Alcohol or standard Hospital grade Alcohol.
Overall, a nice thick, durable sponge, doesnt absorb an insane amount, easy to clean, applies foundation beautifully, perfect for blending and a decent price. What more could you ask? A make-up artists’ essential.

Echo all the reviews below. After buying a foundation that just wasnt looking great applied with a brush, I harkened back to the good old days of foundation sponges lol, saw the reviews here and dropped by Sephora. Really nice sponges and foundation looks great and smooth. Im finding that brushes just arent working in the thinner, newer foundations very well in my skin and leaving the color catching in my pores – these solve the problem. Love.

These sponges are the beez neez. They’re cheap (relatively speaking; they’re under 4 bucks a piece, where as Ulta’s sponges are 5 and Sephora’s beauty blender is 20), they’re reusable, and absorb much less product than the other two mentioned. I wet it the tiniest bit, and it makes even my cheapest foundation (revlon colorstay) go on like a dream. I wouldn’t say it makes my foundation last too much longer, BUT I have noticed that my foundation wears down a lot more evenly, and doesn’t leave behind the dreaded cake face I get after hours at my very physically intensive job. The texture is soft and doesn’t leave my face itchy like some others (although my face is just really sensitive). I will never use a brush again. HG applicator, fosho.

These sponges are perfect. They absorb hardly any of your foundation, and are easy to clean. They also last a very long time. I have been using the same one since I bought it in probably May and with regular cleaning and shampooing it has not come close to falling apart yet! I like to use them to blot my foundation onto my skin to get a perfect finish. They are the exact same size, shape, and texture as the Sephora Collection Multi-Purpose red sponges that they have discontinued – but the LM ones come in the 4-pack for $19 so they happen to be a much better deal. Personally, I don’t like the beauty blender style rounded sponges, and I hope they never stop making these LM ones because it’s impossible to find anything similar anywhere else!

I never knew what a difference it would make to use these sponges for apply my foundation. It gives me a flawless finish! This is definitely a staple for me.

I can’t even remember when I first bought these, suffice it to say, I keep a steady supply. I also have my daughter and her friends on the LM Sponge train.
When Sephora has the 20% off, I buy multiple packs.
My dirty ones goes through the laundry. They don’t come out great but good enough to keep reusing till they fall apart.

I love these large oval shaped sponges. They apply product wonderfully. I use it for my Colorstay & also Clinique makeup. Things don’t get cakey with this application.
