This is one of the best products coming out of the Estee Lauder Companies. Launched around 1986 and has been available since. Although in the past 10-15 years it as been possible to get hold of in a few countries only (Germany, France, UK and US) it is definitely worth a try if you happen to have the possibility.
I have been a devoted user back in 1991-96 and newly repurchased it after remembering its exceptionally hydrating ability.
It has a lovely creamy, easily applied consistency that is absorbed into the skin after about 10-15 minutes.
Although the actives (most of the amino acids) have been removed that were originally present in the formula, the structure of the formula (along with the fragrance) remained (basically) the same. (It still contains Soluble Fish Collagen and Proline.)
It is mainly based on oils of natural origin (surprise, surprise! remember it was created before the age of silicones): Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (which is coconut oil), Sweet Almond Oil, Isostearyl Neopentanoate and Squalane.
Contains Butylene Glycol as the main humectant and an emulsifier-blend (of organic origin) that was and still is used in pharmaceutical products that are mainly intended for patients with dermatological problems (as eczema). What it truly important is that this product has a “unique” (not so usual for cosmetic products) structure, namely it is water-in-oil-in-water (or a triple emulsion – hence the name). This in itself has the ability to maximize delivery of both the oil-phase ingredients and the water-phase ingredients. This will result in maximum and very rapid hydration and nourishment of the skin that lasts!
It used to state on the packaging that it contains 5% Spring Water and 18% Moisture regulating agent (meaning: oils).
As a previous reviewer has pointed it out, it can be left on the whole night more as a night mask, rather than tissuing it off.
It is still an amazing product that does deliver its promises! The colour is a pretty pink and the fragrance is powdery and very pleasant. There truly should still be more products like this around!

This cream mask is as lush as its name suggests. It’s my winter skin indulgence, often applied at the end of a home facial with Clarins products.
EL recommend that the product is applied thickly as an intensely hydrating moisturising mask, to be tissued off after 10 minutes. Dry dehydrated skin will soak up what it needs but instead of removing it I find it works best if the remainder is massaged in and left on as an overnight treatment. It also works well if you apply it before getting into a warm bath; the steam really helps it to sink in. I find that this mask gives my skin a real boost in soothing winter dryness and tightness, leaving it feeling smooth, soft and glowing.
The texture is very rich and thick, but melts on to the skin. Some EL products are too highly scented for me but this has a very pleasant scent which to me is something like melon and double cream!
Note: this product has been around for a long time but most EL counters won’t have it (or a tester) on display.

Got it as a gift from a friend. The scent is the most thing I love. This mask does hydrated my skin and leave it soft and moisturized after use, but it’s just an average mask for me. Won’t buy it considering the price.

This is my HG moisture mask. I use it once a week on clean skin by putting on a nice layer and relax for 15 minutes (or even longer). Most of the mask sinks into skin and you wipe off the rest with a tissue. Leaves my sensitive combination skin moisturized for a long time. The only thing I dislike is the packaging, because it comes in a jar while I prefer a pump bottle or tube. Oh well.
