The texture of this is crazy. Its very liquid and runny at first as you apply it. But it dries on the skin and tightens up pretty quickly. Its weird to think that a clay based mask like this would actually hydrate the skin, but it does for me. I find it does a great job at hydrating and plumping skin. My skin always looks amazing in the morning after using the night before.
One of my favorite masks to use once or twice a week.

I’ve really been struggling with my skin lately. I’ve always had super dry complexion but lately it’s been rough, red, acne-prone with HUGE pores. After some research I determined my skin is sensitive, dehydrated, combo and a consult on MB website recommended this mask.
I like the scent and that it dries quickly. It was easy to apply with a foundation brush and I left it on for twenty minutes. When I removed it, my skin looked better than it has in at least a year. My pores had disappeared, my skin was smooth but not tight and dry, and my serum went on like silk. To be honest, I was shocked. I didn’t expect it to work that well. At this price I can buy pretty much as needed (it’s way cheap compared to my usual brand) and I definitely won’t be without this in the future.

So, I’m 22, started noticing fine lines under my eyes slowly were growing, so i decided to purchase an anti-aging/ collagen mask. I bought this on a whim and while I will admit that after you wash it off you can feel a bit plumper in the face (I’m guessing this is because of the collagen) it quickly fades. I also read somewhere that this mask doesn’t even have enough collagen to make even a real difference in fine lines and wrinkles. It was very expensive at 18 dollars and it comes in a super small messy jar. I would not repurchase this. I’m not mad about it, it feels nice and smells good when you put it on, i just noticed minimal/ to no results when using it. If anything now, I will just apply it under my eyes and leave it on for a while to see if that makes a change.

I am a little skeptical of pricier masks. I’ve had such great experiences with super cheap masks that have the exact same beneficial ingredients of the more expensive versions. I bought this one for myself as a treat. It was sort of in the mid-price range at Ulta.
It goes on smooth and creamy. No minty tingles, nothing harsh or overbearing. Then it dries, and i wash it off, and I feel pretty much the exact same as i did before applying the mask. I might not even remember ever even applying it. It’s like nothing even happened.
I mean, I am not looking for a facelift in a jar. But I’d like to feel extra clean, or extra hydrated, or just experience something a little special for hanging around with stuff on my face for 20 minutes. I’ve gotten that plenty of times with cheaper drugstore or homemade masks. I wouldn’t say this is terrible or that it had any ill effects – it just doesn’t seem to do much.

I’m going to agree whole-heartedly with the reviewer below me who acknowledged this mask is pleasant and inoffensive, but wasn’t blown away by the results.
I’ve worn this mask about four times, all in close proximity, and can tell you two things about it: 1) It doesn’t have any major pitfalls or leave my skin feeling irritated, broken out, dry or oily; 2) It doesn’t add any plumpness, firmness, hydration or glow as far as I can discern. There are literally face masks I’ve come across at the 99 cent store that achieve that end, although I’ll admit this mask has some fine ingredients and may be doing something “undercover” that I can’t see yet.
The smell is a bit “earthy” but not bad, and the texture is rich and sea green in color. It dries quickly on the skin. Considering this is a prestige brand, I will admit I was expecting bells and whistles when I washed it off, but it didn’t really seem to do much.
My skin is normal, not dry but not really oily, not prone to acne and really not sensitive even to skincare products that normally irritate others’ skin. It is possible that this mask is just a little too mild for me and would really work well for someone who has sensitive skin and struggles to find a good mask. If you fall into this category it wouldn’t hurt to try this. For me, I will continue looking for masks with a bit more muscle.

I would like to start off by saying that I absolutely love the Mario Badescu line. This product on the other hand, not so amazing. It’s okay, but when I reach for a facial mask, I want something invigorating. Something that leaves a more apparent difference in my skin as apposed to my everyday skincare routine. When I reach for a mask, I want to be glowing when I take it off. I want to feel and see a visible difference in my skin. What I like about this product is that the clay absorbs excess oils in the pores, but isn’t over-drying because of the collagen. I wish I saw more of a “plump” appearance in my skin after use because of the collagen, but it mainly only surfaces my white or black heads. Also, it was jelly-like in texture when I initially opened the jar for my first use, but over time dried out more and more. I used it up completely in about a month with 6-7 uses total, but it kept drying out more as I used it. So if you do buy it, I suggest you use it up within 3 weeks before it dries and you have to use more product to spread evenly. I liked it, it was comfortable, nice texture, smelled nice, but left no “wow” result like I like to see in masks. And I wish I could have gotten more uses out of the jar.

I’ve always been pleased with Mario Badescu’s products but never blown away by them. I go back to this brand now and then. I was looking for a new mask to try in preparation for the colder months. My skin tends to dehydrate yet still stay oily once the temp drops and the indoor heating comes on. I was browsing Ulta reviews on masks and ended up with this one. What made me decide on this one was that many reviewers said that you will get overnight results with this mask. Hmmm well okay then so I bought it and I have to agree with the glowing reviews! I tried this mask last night and right after I took it off, I did notice a pretty significant difference. So much that I had to lean into the mirror and examine my skin in shock.
Okay, so about the mask itself. It is the color of crème de mint. It smells kind of funky and it is a bit on the runny side. It contains kaolin, collagen, oatmeal and algae extract. (full list: Deionized Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Collagen, Sorbitol, Oatmeal (Avena Sativa), Propylene Glycol, Talc, Seamollient (Algae Extract), Zinc Oxide, Wheat (Triticum Vulgare) Starch). It dries fast, in about 5 minutes or so. I left in on for 30 minutes. This mask is for mature skin that is on the sensitive side. It claims to firm and tone as well as clear out impurities and tone down redness. I have all of these issues. The most annoying issue with my skin is probably my cheek redness and around my nostrils. I also have large pores that are often clogged. This mask is perfect HG for my skin needs.
After removing the mask, I noticed NO redness at all. It was almost a complete shock not to see any left behind. My forehead is usually an oily mess even a few minutes after I cleanse it but after this mask, my forehead looked matte and extremely smooth. Every purifying mask that I’ve tried leaves my skin tight and dry but this one didn’t. My skin felt hydrated yet it looked matte and calm. So pleased with my first time results. The packaging states to use this 2-3x a week but I’m so tempted to use it again tonight and every damn night after. I did however ruin the results by applying tea tree oil after and my face got all red again. So, my advice would be to use this mask as your very last skin care step before you go to bed. This mask would be perfect to do before going out at night or going to a special event.
The only con would be the actual size of the product. The price isn’t that expensive at $18 but for the amount you get which is 2oz. I just feel that it is a bit disappointing. But, I definitely will be repurchasing this until I die.

I recently really got into Mario Badescu products after watching a KaraKendell Video on youtube. While I do not believe this actually does anything in way of Collagen aid, I think they just put that word in there actually because Collagen is too big to be put into the skin through a mask and be actually beneficial, it does suck the redness out of my skin and sort of plump the acne scarring I have for a period of time.
As someone who typically does an Aztec Healing clay mask this is in no way as intensive or strong. I do this mask after a Turmeric and Rice Powder mask for exfoliation to help draw more impurities out with the clay.

I really like this mask. I have combination/oily sensitive skin but did not react at all to this mask. I personally also like the slight minty scent. My skin felt smoother and soft after using the mask. I would describe it like a less intense clay mask. It didn’t produce any miraculous results which is why I only gave it 4 lippies but I do really enjoy using it and it has some nice effects on my skin.

have used this mask three times — so far so good! it’s a very sticky, thick texture, fresh minty green! a bit difficult to spread on your face, and doesn’t smell particularly amazing, but it definitely gives results! my skin feels refreshed, my pores shrink, and my skin basically feels more like a clean slate. i use this mask before putting on my makeup on saturday nights and my skin actually looks airbrushed and FLAWLESS. even though it’s more for anti-aging, i feel like it helps my acne too. <3!
