I love putting this on for de-stressing. It makes me feel fresh and luxurious haha. It has a gentle scent. It is a nice lotion texture that isn’t messy to apply. It doesn’t give drastic results, hence the three lippies. My skin is slightly soothed afterwards but that’s about it. I am happy to finish up this bottle, but I will be on the hunt for another moisture mask.

I bought this because Lisa Eldridge has been talking about it for ages. From how she described it, I thought it would be absolutely great for moisturizing. However, its just OK – I prefer the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive or something else from the sensitive-series from LRP or Avene .
The mask is an “overnight mask” – in other words: a moisturizer. It’s light – like a rich moisturizer, but doesn’t absorb into my skin as well as many other products I have. However, even though my skin is slightly dry (that is mainly when I have used this), it seems to contribute to blackheads… I’m not impressed for how much hype there has been around this, and I wouldn’t buy it again, as it seems to clog up my skin. I like Avene’s actual moisturizers better.

This mask is creamy and thick (almost a tiny bit sticky/gooey), unscented and the best of all, it is quick! You can remove it after 5min into the application. After that, you really feel your skin supple and hydrated. The only cons : the relatively high price (I bought it on sale at the Shopper’s for 27CAD$, usually it is 32$? for 50ml) and I find that the hydration effect lasts only after the application, the following day my skin is back to its original state. The packaging is designed so that the air does not go into the tube, keeping it sterile, which is a plus 🙂

Very, very soothing for sensitive skin. Great for a pick-me-up!

A good product, even if it’s not my favourite from Avene. It’s a 50mL squeezy tube (not a jar, yay!) of what looks and feels like a thick cream moisturiser at first glance, no exciting claims on the packaging and without any obvious scent. Contains mineral oil, which seems to get some bad press these days. Aside from those with a known sensitivity to it, it’s a useful and generally well tolerated emollient that you will find in many OTC and prescription skin treatments for things like eczema. So don’t let that put you off.
Anyway, the instructions are to apply a generous amount to clean, dry skin, leave for 20 mins, then wipe off the excess gently with a soft cloth or cotton pad, without rinsing. Used as directed, it leaves a thin protective “sealing” layer of the moisture mask on the skin, soothing minor dry skin issues without feeling too thick or too heavy. Using most serums or thicker moisturisers/hydrators afterwards, I’ve never had issues with pilling or bad reactions.
What it isn’t good at is dealing with very dry skin – if there’s flaking, scaling, or sore cracked skin, this won’t fix that. At least, not by itself. I use this most in the winter, as 30 minutes outside getting blasted by icy winds can cause superficial tightness and fine scale, and this mask helps moisturise that superficial dryness while also feeling comforting and soothing. I am acne prone, particularly the week before my period, and I have never noticed any increase in comedones or inflammatory acne when I’ve used this product.
This is quite expensive for what it is, so if you’re on a budget then I wouldn’t exactly recommend it as a must-have item to treat dryness. A longer lasting moisturiser that can stay on all day without needing to be wiped off would probably make better financial sense. If I imagine speaking to my past cash-strapped student self, I wouldn’t advise past me to buy it. Makes me sound like a fruitcake but what I mean is it doesn’t really do anything super revolutionary to my skin, yes it leaves it feeling very soft but I like this equally for the self-pampering home spa kind of vibe it gives – a luxury, to be brief. So yeah, a nice product, but not one I’d consider one of my essentials.

I like this mask. It leaves my skin feeling soft, calmed and moisturized. the mask itself feels good putting it on and a little goes a long way. I have sensitive skin and I am ok with this product. I do find it to be expensive for a small tube. It costs about $25.

This has a lot of mineral oil, so it locks it moisture, it kind of works.. but for the price.. the ingredients… I won’t recommend.

I have used many tubes of these for my dry , sensitive skin .its a life saver whenever my skin is too dry ! I found the best way of using this mask is put on a thick layer , then go shower .. u can even add fresh paper on top to helps skin absorb the mask ! This definitely my favourite moisturising mask on the market . Somehow is a bit pricy for all time use … hkd 240 for 50 ml. Hope they have a bigger bottle for better price 🙂

I bought this mask for my dry skin- wesring maekup daily had turned my skin to a tight scaley mess.
This mask was great because it applies just like a thick moisturiser. Within 30 minutes it was all sunk in. I prefer this type than the wash off cos I feel like wash off masks dont get enough time to do much if you then cleanse immediately after.
Would recommend this product as an effective moisture boost and would buy again!

I suffer from eczema and extremely dry skin. This might work for those with normal to slightly dry skin but it hardly did anything for me. I also didn’t enjoy the thick, sticky texture. It did not cause irritation and has no fragrance. There are better masks in the market.
