I received this as a GWP.
It’s a blackcurranty yogurty mask which is supposed to be instantly calming.
It definitely smells of blackcurrants, but it’s a very sweet smell, a bit like cheap jam. Then again, the blackcurrants it uses come from the Ardèche and I’ve never been to the Ardèche so I have never smelt their blackcurrants. It has little black bits in, which are supposed to be blackcurrant seeds and which I found mildly annoying. Bits have no place in a soothing mask, I expect it to be smooth. They were too big for blackcurrant seeds and I briefly considered biting into one to check if they really were, all in the interests of testing, but then I thought, look, Mousie, are you really going to nibble on this for the sake of the four people who might see this review? So I came to my senses and didn’t. I must say, again, that I’ve never been to the Ardèche so maybe their blackcurrants do have bigger seeds. Who knows?
I used the mask in the bath, I took it off with a muslin and my skin really feels smooth and lovely. It was a bit difficult to take off though.
Lastly, the packaging. I hated it, far too much plastic. I must add that the pod was GWP and that L’Occitane are usually quite environmentally conscious.
I will not buy this, mostly because of the plastic and also because of the bits.
