An interesting experience in masking thus far. I used a disposal plastic cup to mix package 1 & 2 together, using a mini spatula I had for tub face creams. I suggest using a larger tool because this got a bit messy when I tried to slap on the product to my skin. It was difficult to spread the product evenly on my skin and took me awhile to distribute using a tiny spatula. I was trying to work quickly as suggested since the product may coagulate once it was mixed together and exposed to air. Luckily, I didn’t experience this while working with a mini spatula & taking a few breaks in between to Google & find out if I was doing this right.
I was nervous about how it would feel & smell when I went to apply it. Thankfully there was no scent, but it did feel cold, wet, & slippery on my skin. It was dripping down slowly like goo after I put it on my face, so I was trying to move the product around to fill in areas that were lacking. The texture is like a thick, gummy, gel overnight mask. The mask doesn’t harden at all, but just turns into… well…rubber. Reminded me of American cheese slices. I was expecting it to tighten on my face, but it was rather comfortable after some time. I did allow it to sit on my face for 30-45 minutes and it started to separate from my skin around my nose. That’s when I knew I should just take it off. The mask isn’t as glamorous as shown on the package – there weren’t any sparkles! It was more like a glossy, pearl gold.
My skin felt moisturized and somewhat smoother, but I can’t say this was worth $20 to me because I didn’t experience an “a-ha” moment. Perhaps with continual uses, but it’s rather pricey for me to justify. Currently, it is being sold at $98/five pieces on Peach & Lily. For someone who frequently goes in for facials, which I’ve never experienced before, then this could be a potential replacement & it could be a deal/steal compared to a facial session. It is definitely something to try because it’s so different from anything else out there.
