This was okay (MBD Sheet Masks are a great price for good quality) but I found the MBD Imperial Bird’s Nest more effective (MORE: moisturizing, soothing and brightening) than the Royal Jelly Sheet Mask.
I had a mini-crisis when I worried my skin was aging too quickly (felt I aged 5 years in 2 weeks after too much sun & too little sleep & sunblock drying me out after a vacation in LA) – I panicked a bit, bought 100 sheet masks (hazard of following asian beauty blogs).
SHEET MASKS that WORKED for my dry skin (that also likes brightening):
*1) Leaders Insolution – Wrinkle Filler $3 – 4.50/mask):
this mask made my skin MOIST, SMOOTH, FIRM, BRIGHT, my lines seemed PLUMPED up, etc. Geese – what DOESN’T this mask do? I have not found a better mask YET. When I saw my face after this mask – I gasped “Whoah!” (in a good way). THIS is the sheet mask that relieved me/calmed me down that – “Skin/age Crisis AVERTED! – I don’t need botox/thermage YET – whew!”. This mask is my skin emergency/crisis kit.
2)Tosowoong Blueberry($1.25 – $2/mask): tons of essence, feels luxurious, made my skin smoother, softer, brighter. I’d say 1 notch below Leaders Wrinkle Filler but much less $! I’d use this in the evening as the essence is so rich and I’d want the essence to sink in my skin all night long. *I tried the Propolis mask but it wasn’t moisturizing for my very dry skin but otherwise an excellent mask.
3) My Beauty Diary in Imperial Bird’s Nest ($1.25/mask) – made my skin smoother, softer, brighter – my eagle eyed mother noticed right away. Good for evening mask or more so for day (power nap before going out).
Note these masks 2 & 3 (ABOVE) are nice masks but definitely not the “WHOAH” factor like the Leaders Mask but they also cost much less!
For vacation (esp in the sun), I’d bring the MBD Imperial Bird’s Nesk & Tosowoong Blueberry & Propolis for everyday masking and I’d bring a few of the Leaders Wrinkle Filler for potential emergencies :-).
Sheet Masks that DID NOT WORK for me (and my very dry skin):
*Leaders Insolution Mela-Tox: very good mask; brightened but this did not moisturize my skin enough.
*Leaders – Aqua Black Charcoal: very good mask: but did not moisturize my dry skin enough
*Manefit Honey – did not moisturize enough (very lame compared to Manefit Bling Bling Masks) – can’t recommend this one.
*Missha – Pure Source Honey – LAME, hardly any essence at all – can’t recommend this!
*My Beauty Diary- Sake Yeast: did not brighten or moisturize my dry skin – can’t recommend this one.
*SNP Bird’s Nest Aqua Ampoule Mask – I was told by the SA that this was super hydrating but this was disappointing for my dry skin.
It is difficult to find reviews for Asian Beauty Products (I switched to mostly Korean skincare since 2014) on makeupalley. I have to look for reviews on various blogs (which I never know if they are being SPONSORED/biased) or reddit where I have no idea what age or skin type they are.
I hope MORE people write reviews HERE as mua is my favorite resource for reviews (and negative reviews here do not get taken out like they do at sephora or any other commercial website).
I am 49 yrs old, Korean, with dry skin since my mid 40s (but had combo/oily skin before). People who work in skincare (dermatologists, plastic surgeon nurses, aestheticians, sales people at Bergdorf, Barneys, Saks) think I’m 28-34 so I try to take care of my skin.

This mask is soaked in a supposedly extremely healthy and antioxidant rich “essence”, which is a fluid that is supposed to sink into pores and do all sorts amazing things. I’m a junkie for all things skin care, be it luxury brands or obscure products to cult-following-status any and everything- unpopular, trendy, bizarre, or weird doesn’t freak me out. Most products, even those with fancy, attractive packaging and a hefty price tag, leave much to be desired. My Beauty Diary Royal Jelly Mask is pretty bitchin. I like it. It’s a typical paper mask, with cut-outs for eyes, nose and mouth. I can easily wear this mask and it does have a cooling, refreshing and calming effect on my face while I’m wearing the mask. Not sure if the cooling effect is due to the actual temperature of the mask or if it’s some property contained in the essence. The essence isn’t very viscous or emollient in texture…royal jelly is appropriate, because the texture feels like that of gel and is quite sticky. Some reviewers complained or mentioned a scent or fragrance. This was almost not detectable to me. I could only the scent of my home. (Scentsy is the bomb!). The effect on my skin, which is the important part: I was left with a smooth texture. I exfoliated with Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil and a wash cloth to slough off any dead skin before using. Earlier in the day I used a peel-off charcoal mask to eradicate any flakes (which there were many of.) I actually think the My Beauty Diary Mask friggin works! At least in a temporary sense. My dry, patchy, flaky, oily, acne and scar ridden complexion seemed downright glowing and gorgeous. It made my face more smooth, supple, and not so dried out and absolutely parched. It helped restore a hydrated feeling to my face. I will repurchase if the results remain consistent.

I disliked this because of the scent . I somehow feel that my skin was a little irritated by this

This mask doesn’t leave a sticky feeling once it has been absorbed. It has a sweet pleasant smell which i like. I am satisfied with this mask because usually when i use a mask, it leaves my skin oily after a few hours but i used this and it didn’t make my face become oily! The mask contains the right amount of essence and doesn’t leave a huge amount of essence in the packaging, which i feel that it is worth the price. However, when i have the mask on my face, the essence will drip down to the bottom of the mask, leaving the top portion drier than the bottom area. The sheet fits perfectly, not too small or big. It kind of feels itchy on my face after 20 min. However, i feel that does a great job in what the packaging claims, especially for radiant skin. Repurchase!

This is my favourite mask by far. So much product in that little sachet. Before I use it I wash my face with a cleanser and once it’s clean I put it on and leave it for about 20 min. When the time is up, I take the mask and apply the leftover product on my face and neck area. The results are amazing! Very moisturizing and the biggest plus for me, it tightens my pores! I finally found a mask that works. Is the only product that I use that works that well as a tightener.
The Q10 and the Mixed Berry masks gave me major breakouts, and the Pearl one didn’t tightened or brightened anything.
I bought mine at Market Village (right next to Pacific Mall) in Markham. Very affordable.

I didn’t have much expectation for this mask, but it turned out to be pretty good. It doesn’t really smell like honey, but has a mildly sweet fragrance that isn’t very offensive. It’s quite moisturizing and is a decent mask for this price range.

I wanted to try this brand of masks and I picked this one because of I have a thing for royal jelly products.
I usually put the mask on for about 5 minutes, then take it off, squeeze the liquid out to rub on my face and neck and tap and massage it in with my finger tips.
I find the mask is definitely moisturizing and makes my skin feel quite soft.
The only issue I have is that peeling the plastic off the fabric part of the mask requires a tiny bit of skill, but I really do not know how that would be fixed or changed. It certainly does not deter me from using them.
I use these about once a week after I wash my face and before I apply my toner and moisturizer.
