This mask does what it claims to do: brighten your skin. You apply the mask onto your face after washing it and putting toner on it. There is a scent, but it is not too aggravating.
I removed a lippie because I find that The Face Shop masks always leave some type of tacky film after removing it that never really gets absorbed into my skin. It makes my skin super oily and uncomfortable in the morning.
Although I gave this mask sheet four lippies, I would not repurchase.

The Face Shop has several masks that deliver, and the Rice one is definitely one of them!
Description: “A brightening & complexion improvement mask sheet containing rice extract to smoothen and brighten dull and rough skin.”
Price: There was a grand opening for The Face Shop and they had a deal, 15 masks for $20, plus three extra masks from a select few. It came out to $1.11 per mask! Not a bad deal, considering they’re normally $2 a piece.
Masking experience: The mask comes individually packaged in an easy to rip pouch. Unlike the popular My Beauty Diary masks, it’s not adhered to a plastic cover so it is potentially easier to rip when you’re unfolding it (although that didn’t happen to me), but the cotton mask is strong and slightly thick enough to handle the stress. It’s drenched with essence and there’s extra essence left in the pouch to pat some on the mask if it’s drying up.
The essence itself is clear and slightly on the more runnier side, although it didn’t drip on my neck when I put it on. It smells faintly of rice.. artificial rice maybe? but it’s not obnoxious and is actually quite pleasant.
It was cool upon initial application, refreshing on a hot summer day. I used it while I was studying for a test so I wasn’t laying down, but the essence didn’t drip everywhere (yay!). I didn’t feel any tingling or itchiness the entire duration.
I left it on for 45 minutes, which is when it started to get a little dry and all the extra essence in the pouch was all used up. And when I peeled the mask from my face, there was still enough essence to rub it on my hands, elbow, and neck (never forget to hydrate the neck!!).
Results: Not bad atall! This mask actually did brighten my skin, and the results lasted several days! My skin was left plump, hydrated, and touchably soft. I can’t comment on the smoothing claim because my skin was exfoliated and smooth(ish) prior to application. I guess it did improve my complexion slightly, and the good news is that it didn’t break me out. Will repurchase, once I try out some other brightening/whitening masks out there!
