As I’ve stated twice before, I am convinced people are paid to write bad reviews about this line! Their products (especially the salicylic acid products) are very effective. They are either paid reviews, or people are just using it wrong.
MY SKIN: Combination. Oily (T zone), dry on cheeks/chin/neck. Acne prone (mainly on jaw/chin). Light colored skin, maybe a little tanner but still light.
MY ROUTINES:
My Morning routine: Clear days ahead face wash, Clear Days ahead moisturizer.
My Night routine: Simple (brand) Micellar water makeup remover wipes, Clear Days Ahead face wash, Clear Days Ahead treatment
pads, Clear Days Ahead Moisturizer
My Every Other Night Routine: My regular night routine, but a face mask right after I wash my face and before I use the treatment pad then moisturize. The face mask is by the same brand, it is the Purity Made Simple Pore Extractor Exfoliating Mask. I exfoliate pretty aggressively before it gets too stiff to move anymore, then let it dry for 10 minutes, then exfoliate roughly again when I wet my face to take it off. Literal MAGIC.
WHY I WILL CONTINUE TO BUY THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN: This mask is everything. This BRAND is fantastic, and this mask not only scrubs away dead skin, but it literally takes out all the blackheads and prevents future acne from flaring up. I use it every other day and BOY this thing is effective. Make sure to use the toner afterward, and then MOISTURIZE!!! You might need to moisturize more than normal after this mask because it takes out everything. This is my favorite mask, I literally just bought 6 on Ulta a week ago because it’s so good. I can’t afford facials, but I can afford a mini-at-home facial which what you basically get with this mask. Will always recommend this. And remember, consistency is KEY!! I recommend the whole clear days ahead line, plus this mask. Your skin will be fabulous.

I’m about halfway through a tube of this and I like it ok. It’s like there are two parts to this mask. Part one is that it’s a clay mask that dries down on your skin. Part two is resetting it and scrubbing your face to activate the scrubby particles for physical exfoliation. For part one, I have other masks that I feel do a better job pulling gunk out. I got this based on Coffee Break with Danny’s praises of its pore clearing ability, but I didn’t feel it did anything special. The scrubbing part feels nice and isn’t overly abrasive. But again, I can get the MAC charcoal mask to do that. The mask is in a tube and a whipped texture so you use a lot with each application. I like it ok, I don’t think it’s work the price or any miracle worker. It didn’t harm my skin. I feel very meh about it.

This is a whipped texture scrub mask. If they got rid of the particles, it would be better. This is a clay mask which I found to need a lot to cover the face since it aerated, the alcohol was very strong. This did the job of drawing out oil and gave that pulled dry feel which i quite like. The price is too high for what it is, I feel this is a drug store product and the smaller size which I bought really should not be more than $10. There are many clay masks out there that do a better job with higher quality ingredients. This is nothing special, pls try before you buy. If you are after a drawing clay mask, I have not found better than Aesop Primrose Mask, I’m always coming back to this and a very small amount is needed.

I received this product in my Sephora Play box. I soon ordered the biggest size on Sephora.com. I never do that. It’s actually the first product I’ve bought full size since subscribing to Play.
I love this mask. I have combo skin, with texture, blackheads, and now dark spots. I’m only 32, wtf is going on?! Anyways, I’ve been kinda down about my skin changing lately so I’ve been upping my mask game. This mask made me feel better about myself. No lie. After leaving it on for 10 min, I use a little water and scrub my face with the mask before rinsing completely. After rinsing, my face feels very clean, looks smother, my blackheads look better, and my texture is definitely better. I can tell the difference when I apply makeup the next day. My face just looks better. I have sensitive skin, and this mask did not irritate me at all. I’ve used the Indian Healing Clay mixed with ACV (another good mask) and it was painful, but I could tolerate it. The Philosophy mask is more gentle with even better results. I’d recommend.

I’ve tried many different Philosophy products and most have left me neither impressed or disappointed. The Philosophy Purity Pore Extractor Clay Mask, after using three deluxe sample size tubes, is the first to leave me really quite disappointed. I think Philosophy needs to decide if they are trying to make an exfoliating mask or a blackhead/ pore minimizing mask.
The exfoliating grains in this mask are very abrasive (more so than most other masks), and generally, when it comes to exfoliating you are better off using a leave on serum that contains AHA or BHA’s than you are using a product that manually exfoliates with grains or scrubbing granules. This mask contains sailicylic acid, but it will most likely be rinsed off before it has much time to be effective in exfoliating. This mask is far more problematic for skin than will ever be beneficial.
This mask also contains denatured alcohol which can be very damaging to the skin and its healthy moisture barrier. To make matters worse this mask also contains numerous fragrance ingredients. My video review is linked below if you want a more detailed review. 🙂

So disappointed with this mask. I have large pores on my nose that tend to get congested. I usually need to use a pore strip once a month to keep the pore “clean”. I love Purity cleanser, so I gave this mask a try. First this mask has grit to it. I don’t like to use any harsh gritty masks or scrubs. I did stick with it, due to great reviews on ULTA and Sephora online. Mask applies with grit, dries in about 10 minutes. Rinses with warm water easily. Due to the exfoliating nature of this mask I do not use a separate scrub when I apply this mask. It does save me some time in that regard. It did nothing special for my pores. I finished a whole full size tube prior to this review.
PRO: saves time as it is a combination of a clay mask with exfoliation
didn’t cause break outs.
Cons: I think it’s too harsh.
Didn’t help with my congested pores.
