My results with this mask and its partner vary greatly, depending on the weather. I got them in July and they immediately broke me out. I couldn’t bear to throw them out after just a couple of uses, so I stuck them in a basket in the bathroom and avoided them.
For some reason, I decided to buy the Phase 1 kit during their Black Friday sale, even though I realized that if the masks broke me out, the cleanser and moisturizer probably would, too (I have had awesome luck with their makeup though, including the Perfecting Skin Tint). So to prep, I decided to give the masks another go. I was out of my normal AHA/BHA gel mask and had already developed my second annual round of apparently fall/winter related patches of acne, so what better time to try products that would more than likely wreck my skin, right?
My skin is dehydrated but oily and suddenly reactive. I’m 26 and have only had major skin issues in the last year or two. I use this to follow the Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, which has done wonders for me this fall. My skin can still feel ever so slightly tight and dry after rinsing/wiping this mask off, which seems odd for a moisturizing mask, but it adds to the experience I guess.
It’s a white, creamy gel with a VERY light scent. It almost smells like icing, but it’s not overly sweet. I like the scent personally. I’m really unsure if it adds that much moisture back into my skin, and I use a lot. Like, a lot a lot. BUT the jar still looks pretty full. In fact, I’m almost out of the Mega Greens mask, so the set reminds me a bit of shampoo and conditioner, but reversed. I always run out of conditioner way before I run out of shampoo. These masks are like that, but I run out of the “cleansing” mask before the “conditioning” one. I follow the directions on the jar, using each for 20 minutes, and I follow up with a facial oil to further moisturize and finish the whole routine. I’m tempted to leave this on for an hour or so next time, but I suspect that out of the two, this is the one that caused me to break out over the summer, so I’m hesitant. On the other hand, I’ve realized that a lot of my complexion issues and oiliness are because my skin is actually thirsty and overcompensating, so maybe it wouldn’t hurt. I don’t know. As you can probably tell, I’m pretty conflicted over the practicality and effectiveness of this mask. I will continue to use what I have, probably try the Mega Greens mask without it a time or two, and then decide whether or not I would repurchase, but Glossier’s marketing really works on me, so for now I’d say I would.

I use this mask about once a week after exfoliating and I love it. It’s super moisturizing and gives my skin this great, short term “plumping” effect. It smells a lot like Clinique’s Moisture Surge Line. Both are chock full of hyaluronic acid. There isn’t a whole lot of fragrance in the product, which I like, although I wouldn’t have been opposed to them creating a rose-scented mask. They do such a good job with the rose and coconut scents.
I’ve experienced no sensitivity or irritation with this product, and I’d totally buy it again if there weren’t a million cool hydrating masks out there waiting to be tested. Ah well, perhaps I’ll come back around to Glossier eventually!

This mask is delicious. I have been using GlamGlow for a very long time and when Glossier came out with their masks I decided to give them a try. My face looks and feels better with this combo. I have sensitive skin and while the Mega Green did feel tingly and made my face a little red, this was very soothing afterwards. I also tried it on my sister and my mother (68) and she looked better than any of us. I highly recommend the two masks. My sister converted too!

I am not one to go out of my way and write reviews for products. In fact, this is my first one out of all of my years of product hoarding. This mask has been a complete lifesaver for me. I have extremely sensitive skin that is combination on a good day and severely dry on a bad day, and spending the summer in the city has been wreaking havoc on my skin. I have been battling dry patches, irritation, and rashes and nothing would do the trick. I put on this mask (which doesn’t even really feel like a mask, it’s more like a heavy cream) before bed and lightly wash it off and woke up with all of my dry bumps completely gone. My skin is finally back and feels so soft and radiant. Thank you Glossier! This is a MUST BUY and I will continue to re-purchase!

Eek!!! I REALLY wanted to love this mask as much as I love Glossier’s Milky Jelly cleanser…but no. I have fairly normal, perhaps slightly dry, non-acne prone skin, and this product broke me out like crazy! I was so sad. It was bad, huge painful bumps. I’m still trying to recover. But, on the plus side, this has pretty much cured me of my Glossier fan-girl obsession.

I actually do like this a lot, it kind of had a whipped jelly consistency and feels so cool and nice especially after work. I use this in conjunction with either glossiers other mask or a lush mask. This helps to rehydrate my skin without leaving it greasy

I actually love this mask as a prep for parties/going out. It soothes my redness and coaxes my skin to a calm, glowy place.
Edit, I now use this mask every day and also sometimes sleep in it. My skin has been calmer, clearer, and more hydrated since I’ve started using this lovely mask, and it’s not very expensive compared to glam glow and caudalie moisturizing masks.

Well, I wasn’t surprised to see poor reviews here. I find it pretty useless as a mask. The ingredient list looks really good especially “urea” (natural moisturizing factor), “licorice root extract” (lightening agent and redness reducer) and “mushroom extract” (lightening agent and antioxidant) so I decided to give it another chance… I used it as an overnight moisturizer for a few days. My skin is noticeably smoother and brighter!
I’ve been using it for a month now and I’m in love how my skin looks and feels. It’s my holy grail PM moisturizer!

I tried to like this, but the mask dries out on my face after 10mins… My skin feels soft afterwards but only temporarily. I really think they need to reformulate this.
I have oily but dehydrated skin. If you have dry to very dry skin, this would not work for you. I think this only works as a temporarily relief for someone with angry sensitive skin, that is all.
If they reformulate this mask, I will consider repurchasing.

I love love love this mask. I have normal to dry skin and after I use this, I have softer and visibly smoother and more even skin. It is seriously amazing. I totally recommend! It is soooo soft on the skin and is really cooling and almost bouncy. Love! It is such a treat to use after a long week!
