I bought this in the mini size to try out as a final step in my at-home facial regimen. I love it in that role, but the mini has actually earned a spot in my purse as an emergency moisturizer, it’s so good. I spend the night away from home a lot, so keeping this in my purse ensures I have something to help make my skin slightly less lizard-y if I’m away from my skincare routine. For reference, I have dry, dehydrated skin with flakiness on my forehead, texture and hormonal acne on my chin, and large sebaceous filaments on my nose.
The thing that attracted me to this product is the ingredient list. I have learned I CANNOT do any silicone in my hair or skin products. My skin is not super sensitive, but silicone is a bit no-no. A reviewer below that said the CeraVe Baby Lotion is a dupe for this. A lot of the beneficial ingredients are the same, but the CeraVe has silicone in it, which makes the price increase for this product worth it to me. It’s tricky to find a good overnight/moisturizing mask without silicone, so that was already a win. Second is the inclusion of Niacinamide so high on the ingredients list. If a product has niacinamide, it’s usually found in the last few rows. It also has Ceramides decently high up on the list. Overall, it has a solid ingredients list that stands up to the cost and claims.
The performance is about as described. It moisturizes and leaves my skin feeling smooth, with some texture-refining and skintone-evening properties. I’ll apply this on thick after a facial and it does a great job of “sealing” in all of my serums and keeping my skin plump and dewy all day. On a more regular basis I’ll put a thinner layer on just like a moisturizer and it will make everything soft and moisturized without feeling thick on my skin- it absorbs pretty quickly and I can use it under makeup if needed, without it being too thick or textured underneath.
Another plus in my opinion is the packaging. The metal squeeze tube helps protect the contents from light, and making it a metal tub as opposed to plastic ensures you can squeeze out every last bit of product. I’m not someone to cut my plastic tube open to scrape out the inside, so the metal tube is a nice touch. The mini is the perfect size to toss in my (small) purse and carry around for whenever I’m feeling dry, and I know it’s not going to pop open and leak all over my bag. I’d much rather have practical, minimal packaging like this than a bulky/heavy “luxury” package like that of Tatcha.
Overall, great moisturizing mask with an attractive ingredients list and practical packaging that is perfect if you’re looking for something that is silicone free.

This mask is amazing! I left in on for 20 minutes and then rubbed the rest in my skin (did not tissue off or wash off) then went to sleep. The next morning I woke up with velvety soft skin. The cream goes on white without any scent and just rubs into your face without any greasiness. Great overnight mask with minimal effort.

I love this product for travel. It has a great richness with out feeling greasy. I have sensitive skin and my skin loved the coolness of the active ingredients. If not being used for airplane travel, I bring it along to be a mask or overnight treatment.

I tried out a deluxe sample of this moisturizer mask and at first I really loved it. It’s a nice emollient mask that absorbed in pretty quickly and left my skin nicely hydrated in the morning. I live in the south so at this time of year its not uncommon to have either the heat or the AC running overnight in the same week. This can dry the crap out of my skin and this masked seemed like it could address the problem and maybe be worth the high price for such a small amount. Especially since it says that its appropriate for the eye area which would eliminate the need for a second product. Unfortunately the essential oils in this progressively irritated my under eye area. By day 3 they were tight and stung. Its a shame because the mint and orange oils in this are completely unnecessary and ruin an otherwise nice face cream. I agree with a previous poster who suggested that they’re used make it feel like this stuff is doing something and in my case it was. It was irritating the hell out of my under eye area so I’m gonna pass.

This is a fairly expensive item that I bought in the Sephora sale. I have dry skin, and since I use retinoids, it can peel and feel tight, no matter what I do at times. I used this with the Nurse Jamie Facewrap silicone mask over it and it did a tremendous job of penetrating my dry skin. I even used it on some dry patches under makeup and it made them disappear. I doubt that I would ever pull this out on an airplane and use it though! It is cooling and moisturizing as well. I definitely think it is one of the best products for very dry, tight skin that I have used in a long time.

Folks, at the risk of bursting your bubble, bear with me for just one moment: this “mask” is nothing more than a marked-up, dressed-up, puffed-up dupe of CeraVe’s Baby Moisturizing Lotion. At FIFTEEN TIMES THE PRICE PER OUNCE.
A comparison of the formulations proves that the heroic ingredients in Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask are also present in CeraVe’s (excellent) Baby Lotion:
Niacinamide
Ceramide 3
Ceramide 6-II
Ceramide 1
Sodium Hyaluronate / Hyaluronic Acid
Arginine / Arginine PCA
Tocopheryl Acetate aka Vitamin E
Not only are all these ingredients present in both formulations, but in my opinion, the CeraVe formulation is superior, as it does NOT contain sensitizing peppermint and orange essential oils. These EOs can cause a tingling sensation, convincing users that something magical is “happening.” Hopefully that magic isn’t the surreptitious creation of tons of tiny whiteheads, as was the case for me…
If you want to experience the luxurious sensation of layering on a thick face cream and rechristening it a “mask,” take some CeraVe baby lotion, mix it with a few drops of glycerin and squalene, and call it a night. Or really up the plump factor by making your own hyaluronic acid / glycerin serum as a mix-in. The possibilities are endless. And cheap.
As for any die-hard Summer Friday’s fans, I would relish the opportunity to be told why a (negligibly) different formulation (different emollients and dispersing agents) in Millenial-sexy packaging warrants a price tag of $21.3/oz, when you can get the same beneficial ingredients at the drugstore for $1.37/oz.

So, before I bought it, all I heard about it on IG were its plumping abilities and the mask reducing the appearance of undereye dark circles. Also heard that it’s hydrating a lot. I was really excited to get this mask because I love Marianna Hewitt.
You can either lay it on thick or use a thinner layer. After 10 minutes, you can wipe it off or rinse it off, although I feel just wiping is sufficient. I love that this gives me the ability to easily use it on a plane or as a quick fix me up.
It has a very slight scent. I don’t find it to be overwhelming at all. It feels refreshing when it goes on. I was initially a bit disappointed because I didn’t feel that it necessarily plumped up my skin and I didn’t see any reduction in undereye circles or undereye lines (I’m 28). However, this mask is super moisturizing. I love it now and it’s been part of my daily routine legit daily. I use it at night or in the morning depending on my work schedule. I’ve used a thin layer under makeup as well as a primer and it worked out nicely. It kept my foundation and concealer looking smooth and I didn’t see any flakiness which is really exciting when you live in New Jersey in the winter!
Overall, I would definitely buy this mask again. I’d like to buy another soon to keep as a backup bc I just love using it daily, and I love how functional and easy it is. I’ve already recommended it to friends.

I found that there are many things about the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask that I like. It comes packaged nicely in an opaque metal tube which protects the antioxidants and makes dispensing the product very easy. This is a slightly thick cream and it spreads over the face quite easy and sits well for the 10-20 minutes you leave it on for. You can either rinse the mask or simply tissue the excess off.
I recommend tissuing it off (of you can handle the peppermint, cornmint, and orange) because once you completely rinse it off the benefits end right there. The one thing I dislike about it is the fragrance ingredients they have added such as cornmint, peppermint, and orange oil, which give this mask a tingling feel. Peppermint can be a skin sensitizer so if you have sensitive skin this is not the best ingredient for your skin. Thankfully these ingredients are at the end of list but this mask would still be better without them. This does have some great antioxidants and many Ceramides that will help hydrate dry and dehydrated skin. I choose to rinse it off because I do have sensitive skin. Not sure if I would purchase it again unless the fragrance ingredients were removed. My more detailed review video can be seen here:
