This is a gentle mud mask. It heats up slightly upon application to the face. I love that warm feeling, it’s so soothing. I’ve had other masks that did that.
This mask is dark like mud but has a more gel like consistency. It actually had that green type of mud rather than the black type, and it is supposed to be volcanic mud, whatever that is.
This does not dry or harden like other mud masks I’ve used. I leave it on for about five minutes although the instructions say to leave it on three minutes. It rinses off very easily. I splash my face with water and it comes off. No scrubbing is needed.
What I love about this is that it reduces inflammation. My face has mild rosacea. This calms it down. I also put it on a small spot of psoriasis on my elbow and it smooths that and takes away the inflammation in that.
My skin is soft, smooth and glowing after I use this mask. I consider it excellent and would buy it again. And I like the company Alba Botanica. This contains several plant based ingredients such as aloe.
