I was really excited to try these, because they are one of the few masks out there that do not contain fragrance. The price is pretty high, even for Japan: 800 JPY for a set of 4. It works fine, but it still doesn’t hydrate as well as the DHC biocellulose masks or the My Beauty Diary Black Pearl, or my number one super hydrating Black Pomegranate sheet masks from Skinfood. Those last ones are my savior for winter skin. I do like these HadaLabo masks, but in my case I think they’re probably better in warmer weather.

Absolutely love this hydrating mask. Not only is it value for money but it actually works. I use it almost daily just before makeup.
After exfoliating, I would put on one sheet of mask, leave it on for 15 minutes and then remove it. I pat the moisturized skin dry and it creates a hydrating film over the entire face. Then I proceed with sun block and the rest of my makeup. Not only does it fill in the lines and pores, it keeps my makeup looking fresh and less cakey. I highly recommend this mask. Shop around for the best prices.

I bought a pack of 4 of these at a local Asian grocer. I had come down from about a month of traveling a lot for work and my skin was miserable – very dry and irritated, but with smatterings of those tiny deep whiteheads across my chin and next to my nose, probably from me frantically rubbing Aveeno into my face in an attempt to stave off the dryness.
Upon opening, this mask is dripping with essence, which is nice. I always try to pull the mask out and then pour any remaining essence in the package onto my face, usually ending with it in my mouth or eye or all over my shirt. Anyways, the mask fit well on my face and had no discernible odor (which is GREAT – so many masks from popular brands like TonyMoly or the Face Shop are heavily perfumed). I left it on for about 45 min, until much of the essence had sunk in or dried up. I wouldn’t say that my skin was instantly rendered to perfection, but I immediately felt more moisturized and less irritated. Within a few days, my face was more or less back to normal. I’ll continue to buy these for post-travel recovery, and maybe even work up the courage to wear it on a plane to creep out all my fellow passengers.

This was the first dud I’ve ever had from Hada-Labo.
Well… to be fair wasn’t a total dud, it just wasn’t as good as cheaper masks – and if you’re not as good as something cheaper in the beauty world, what’s the point? Hahaha! Anyway, here’s my review.
Fit: I wont lie, I do normally have problems with Asian sheet masks not fitting. I have a typical scary white person nose that could probably poke out eyes if I wasn’t paying attention. Generally, I don’t expect a sheet mask to fit completely because that’s not fair. This however, seemed very small for my face overall. There wasn’t a single area of my face that it did seem to fit. Way too big for my forehead, not big enough for my entire cheeks, weirdly seemed to swallow up my mouth.
I’ve tried dozens of Asian sheet masks and never had this issue. How strange. But I can forgive this.
Serum: as always, Hada-Labo knocks it out of the park! But if you were expecting anything other than a thicker version of their famous Hyaluronic Acid Lotion, you may be disappointed. I love that serum though, and my skin looked plump and soothed every time I took these off.
Quality of sheet: the sheet is very thick but seems to dry out very quickly. I wore these in spring and summer, and my room tends to be quite cool, but still the serum was gone in about half an hour.
Too long; didn’t read? Loved the serum, hated the mask itself. I’d recommend buying the Hyaluronic Lotion and some good quality cottons and just leaving those on your face instead.

I thought I will give sheet mask a try. I bought a few different brands during a sale and this is the first one I tried. I have used up the entire box of 4. And I have also tried 2 sheets of a kracie 3D mask during this time. For comparison. My preference is the Kracie mask. The Kracie mask has a good fit, it even covers parts of the jaw area comfortably. It has more essence noting both are quite thick and sticky. Most importantly, the Kracie mask gave a better moisturising effect. With the hada labo, I could see areas of dryness where lines were still quite visible when I ‘smile’. Also, the kracie mask has more essence which like some other reviewers, I used on my arms and legs.

I regularly use face mask but I dislike this . It just makes my skin feel weird and when that happens I know my skin is sensitive to it , just that the rashes or itch or pain has not surfaced . Nevertheless I did put it on for thirty minutes and somehow feel that the face mask did nothing .

This is a mask I use every single week and have done so at least for the past 5 months. As I have sensitive skin, I can only use masks which has no preservatives, fragrance, mineral oils etc and Hada Labo fufils these requirements. This mask is very very thick and overflowing with essence even after leaving it on for 15-20 mins.
It’s good if you’ve very dry skin but can be overpowering (sticky) for those with normal skin. Many times, the essence sits there and doesn’t dry off till many hours later (even in the aircon room).
Definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a powerpacked moisturising mask. For those who can’t stand stickiness, you should avoid using this.

AMAZING. I am seriously falling in love with Hada Labo products.
This really hydrates and refreshes the skin, makes it look so much healthier! I also find that it helped even out the skin tone, and soothes the skin. I leave it on my skin for about 15-20 minutes, and take whatever product left in the packet and massage it onto my legs and arms. The sheet has a lot of the product so after I take off the mask, I can still use the excess on my body.
I have very sensitive skin and pretty bad eczema, and though it doesn’t really spread to my face, I do have small patches here and there. Different factors like stress, an odd product here and there, or the environment also aggravates my skin, so it can be pretty itchy. This soothed it immediately! I’m so happy I no longer have to rely on steroid creams anymore when it gets bad.
Really, I can’t believe how healthy my skin looks now. It’s unbelievable.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t quite fit on my face, it’s too big (and here I thought my face was pretty big already..), so it does make me feel very claustrophobic when it doesn’t lie on the face the way it should. This is just me, though, I think it depends on the individual..
And it is really sticky. Really. I spend about 10 minutes massaging it onto my face, and there was still a layer on my skin. Feels quite heavy and uncomfortable, so I think applying this mask right before you go to bed is best. However, this doesn’t really bother me because I’m used to having really thick creams on my face. If you’re someone who hates having a layer of thick product on your face, or hate sticky moisturisers, this may not be for you. But if you desperately need moisture, I would really recommend this product. The slight discomfort is a small price to pay.
I also bought the Hada Labo Perfect Gel, and I find it to have a very similar effect to the mask and it does all that I said above, only not as concentrated. It’s a good alternative to this, and is less sticky.
I would still repurchase this product, I don’t mind all the cons as long as it works! Which is does, beautifully. I currently live in a humid country, so dry skin is easier to remedy, but I will be moving to London in a few months, so I’m definitely packing a load of masks to help me get through the dry weather there, especially the winter. Will edit this review after I test it!

Once i put it on, I was overwhelmed by the alcohol scent and it is stated as the 4th ingredient in the list. It goes away after about 3-4mins and feels cooling and soothing on my skin. After removing the mask, there is alot of essence on my face left. I tried massaging it in but 5mins later, there were still essence left on my face. It felt like a film of the essence is sitting on top of my face. I got this as a free sample with purchase of a certain amount and i’m glad that i did not buy the full pack as i initially wanted to. Get your hands on a sample before you buy the full pack!
