Since I’ve been so good at keeping up with my nightly mask for the last 70 days, I decided to treat myself to something new. Kopari recently introduced their first mask to their product lineup and I decided I to try it out. The Kopari Coconut Detox Mask is a rinse-off mask that is meant to be used twice a week. Right away I need to say how I dislike jar packaging, especially for a mask that could take the average person two to three months to fully use up. So many of my masks have disintegrated between uses, and this ends up feeling like a waste of money.
Jar issue aside, let me share what I liked about the Kopari Coconut Detox Mask. This mask smooths over skin easily. I used a silicone spatula tool, but just about any method of application will work well. The Coconut Detox Mask is a thicker cream formula that smooths over skin more easily after it has been warmed up from your skin for a minute or two. Initially a little does not go a long way, but it does become more spreadable with warmth.
Tonight I applied the Kopari Coconut Detox Mask to my clean face, left it on for about fifteen minutes, and then rinsed the mask off. After rinsing the mask off my skin felt clean, soft, and slightly hydrated. I wouldn’t say that this mask worked any miracles, but it was a nice treat. The Mask does have a light, almost vanilla scent, which disappears once you rinse the mask off. This isn’t a huge issue since the scent is light and is rinsed off, but those with sensitive skin will want to be careful and do a patch test 24 hours before using. I am thinking that most of the fragrance comes from the inclusion of sandalwood extract which can be beneficial as well as potentially irritating for those with sensitive skin.
The Kopari Coconut Detox Mask is a decent mask option that also has a few issues that don’t make this mask “perfect” for everyone. I like how hydrating this feels, the easy application process, and the antioxidant loaded ingredient list. I dislike the jar packaging.
