So I knew in advance that these kinds of masks are considered a gimmick and pretty much only pull your face hairs out, but I was fine with that since I regularly use AHA/BHA and hate having peach fuzz.
I really dislike this one. It doesn’t smell overly strong, but something about it still made my eyes water when it was on my cheekbones. The consistency is bad, it dries out (in the tube) over time and has a consistently bad habit of applying streakily, but removing the previous layer if you try and go over it. You need to use heeeeaps to get an even black mask – although tbf I don’t think it necessarily needs to be applied very thick.
It does next to nothing for blackheads, but does get all the hairs. It hurts a lot to peel off, even if I have just shaved my face. The good thing about this though is that my skin always felt extremely clean and smooth afterwards. I eventually only ended up using it when I didn’t want to use my more expensive AHA, as this gave similar feeling results.
I would have assumed my experience was the norm for these kinds of masks, but I just tried a Yoyoso branded pack that is a fraction of the price for more product, goes on very thick and opaque and evenly, peels off with zero pain (even though it grabbed some hairs) and had visible blackheads attached to it. The sheer difference between these two has motivated me to post this as I see now that the Tosowoong sucks in comparison.
