First and foremost, this shouldn’t be be confused with Beauty Bakerie. Beauty Bakery is a Filipino skin care brand. Now onto the review.
Before anything else, I would like to say that I’m a person with EXTREMELY sensitive skin. I refrain from using anything anything scented on my skin (save for some perfumes; even then I need to be careful). I only use unscented/naturally scented products – soap, lotion, shampoo, etc. Even if I love all those strawberry scented stuff, I don’t use them anymore because my skin really suffers from them and I end up with eczema problems.
Beauty Bakery’s Charcoal & Clay Scrub is one of those products that I REALLY need to get away from. I bought this because it had rave reviews on BeautyMnl and no one really commented at the strong smell. It’s not a bad smell by any chance BUT it is a strong one. As soon as I received this item, I was already able to smell it form the sealed packaging. It was THAT strong. Initially I thought it was just a lingering scent from something else but when I opened the tub, the same scent wafted into my nostrils and I just knew I couldn’t really use it on my face for an extended period of time. Anyone with sensitive skin (or really anyone at all) shouldn’t be using scented stuff on their skin because the fragrance can cause irritation.
I did however tried this product on my face for 2 weeks just to understand the hype (and also because I needed an exfoliant) but I have seen no visible results in that short amount of time. The main UPSIDE of this though is that it works okay for exfoliating the underarms (just so money isn’t wasted). So if you have extremely sensitive skin like me, I advise against purchasing this.
Another downside to take note is that it has NO ingredient list. I’m one of those people who like knowing what I put on my skin due to sensitive skin issues so that’s another downside when it comes to this product.
TL;DR: if you have sensitive skin/don’t like strong scents on your product/don’t like using products with no ingredient list, do not buy this!
