I got this mask with a PTR mask set and it has the most peculiar thick consistency I’ve never felt in a mask before. It’s so stick that water runs right over it and doesn’t dissolve unless your skin is lightly scrubbed. This wasn’t the issue for me. It was the fact that it made me get deep pimples. I’m in my 30s and I rarely ever breakout anymore so I usually know exactly what caused it. The first time I used it, the next the I woke up with a very deep pimple on my cheek and a few on my chin. I didn’t get any new pimples after that and I took a break from the mask. A few weeks later I decided to try the mask again and within hours of using it there were those pimples again. Unfortunately I’ll have to return the set and it’s disappointing that my skin reacted this way to it.
As a side note, I worked as a chemist for a cosmetic lab in the past and I can surely say this mask is FILLED with gold mica and that can be irritating for some skin types. The greasy texture feels like it’s also loaded with polymers. So I came to the conclusion that PTR is beginning to make very gimmicky products

I was drawn into buying this mask after watching a video where a high end aesthetic place used gold leafs as a mask. It looks pretty in the jar..like gold dust in globs of glue..so I was in between enthralled and a little bit terrified. Basically for the price, this mask just isn’t worth it, in my wallets opinion. It wasn’t exactly hydrating, more sticky than anything on my skin. After the initial application the gold bits look nice and reflective but after an hour it was..meh. Nice for a once off try but wouldn’t repurchase.

I’m housesitting this week for a friend and I’ve been getting a lot of sun, I had packed a few masks to do in the evenings just as a treat and the travel size (in a tube) made it into the pack that I brought. I always store gel masks in the fridge and this one felt amazing going on after slightly sunburning my nose and forehead today. I don’t know if it was firming, but my skin still feels hydrated.
I also didn’t have any issues washing it off, like others have said.
I don’t think I would repurchase though, it looks pretty on and seems luxurious to have a “24k gold mask” but I’ve had gel masks from the drug store that act the same.

I got this as part of the maskoholic set. It looks so fancy and luxurious in the jar, but up close you realise the gold colour is really just glitter (it’s a bit gimmicky). It has a rich thick gel consistency, i personally don’t like putting anything gel-like on my skin but others do. It’s not so bad as far as gel goes, and it retains the gold sheen when you put in on your face.
It is a bit difficult to wash off. The mask left my skin feeling great; my skin felt soft, smooth, calmed, and just looked refreshed in general. Nothing amazing though, i was far from being blown away, but it felt like a nice treat.
I don’t think i would buy again because i don’t feel this is HG or really essential to my regime, but it is a nice luxurious treat for my skin, and i feel pampered AF putting gold on my face. I am glad I tried it and enjoy using it while i have it, i think the maskoholic gift set is a good value.

I find this mask more plumping than firming. The texture is super thick/gel like and kinda hard to wash off. I really like the fact it has two types of gold in it. I however could do with out the massive amounts os mica (glitter).
I do enjoy using this mask for it’s price point isn’t the worst for 24k gold, however be aware most of the shimmer you see is gold colored glitter.

I am a PTR addict, I love almost all of his products, even if they are in the high-end line. I have tried some of PTR facial masks and loved them, but this one is terrible. The packaging is great, makes you feel as if you are really getting something good, at least for the money he charges for this little jar!!! I opened the jar and said to myself, this is very pretty, but it has a sticky texture, I then wondered how could this sticky consistency do anything so I went on to applying the mask. Let me tell you, I left this mask on for about 20 minutes and it did nothing for me, it still felt very sticky it didn’t dry or, no tingling, nothing at all, I didn’t know whether the mask was still there or not. But one thing I can tell you is that washing this mask off is a chore, you have to use a wash cloth or something to get this sticky stuff off and then still have to rinse your face afterward, my face did have a bit of a better look and it was a bit softer but the texture is terrible. Your face has these little tiny glitter on it, you can barely see it unless you are in a very good mirror. I have seen PTR on QVC and he said that this is made of a certain amount of gold in it, well I think that’s the little tiny glitter that you see on your face, not GOLD!! I bought the 1.7 oz. jar and that was $45, then notice that I could have got this much cheaper on Ebay, Grrrr!!
Don’t get me wrong maybe this is good for some ladies but not for me and costs too much, I would stick to the rest of his products. If I ran out of it, No I would not purchase this again.

I bought this product on overstock.com it was only 42$ compared to sephora where it was 80$. I don’t think I would purchase it again if could not get it for the overstock.com price. I have been using this in a thin layer nightly after washing my face. Rinse off and use my Benefit Total Moisture after. My skin looks plump and youthful again. My 11s between my eyes have improved after my routine in 2 weeks. Interested to see after the jar is gone what the results will be!

I have the five pack of masks and the pumpkin mask is my favorite but this one is really nice. I like to use it on the days my skin needs extra moisture. It seems to help with improving the texture of my skin by making it smooth and glowy. I haven’t noticed a scent so if it does have one its minimal. It doesn’t irritate the skin or cause breakouts.

I bought this in a set of travel size PTR masks (there are six mask types total.) So I like the tube packaging I received, but I understand the full size comes in a jar which seems like a good invite for bacteria. And the product itself? I feel like… It’s a nice luxury item to have only because it psychologically makes you feel that way. Sure my fave feels slightly(?) plumper or hydrated… But not enough or any more than any other product I’ve used. Certainly not worth the money.
