I had next to no expectations with this product, but gave it a go as it’s so reasonably priced. All I can say is Wow! Dark, smudge-proof, great small brush for lower lashes and the length it gives is on par with high end. Just enough volume as well. Very pleasantly surprised.

I don’t understand why this mascara isn’t more loved. I mean for the price it’s pretty great mascara. I like the formulation very much, it’s not too wet and it’s not too dry to the point that it’s flaky. I also really like the brush and the affect it gives. If you’re like me and looking for mascara that separates and fans out your lashes, then maybe you should try this mascara.

I decided to try this after reading good reviews here. Crap, hardly visible on my lashes. Just hopeless. Ok, it’s only $5, but I spent $10 all up on this one and the other Lacura mascara, and both as bad as each other. $10 would have been better spent on a good mascara. My problem is that this barely makes any impact on lashes..what is the point of that?

I bought this mascara to use at my boyfriends house when I forget my make up or stay over unexpectedly; and I am so glad I did. I bought it from Aldi in Canberra and it reminds me of an estee lauder mascara I once had. The only down side is that the brush sometimes brings out a bit too much formula and can make clumps (I just wipe it on the bottle lid) and it stays on so well!

I don’t like to wear a lot of mascara, at my age, less is more.
If you like to darken your lashes only without build up and prefer a natural silky look this is a great mascara.
This mascara stays on your lashes all day and there is no flaking.
By the end of the day my lashes looked as good as they had when first applied.
No itching
Stays put but is easily removable with cleanser.
I like the brush it coats and separates the lashes. There is no gluggy build up and the product stays on the lashes.
This mascara is a little wet, I have to wait till the top lashes are dry before applying to the lower lashes, so I don’t end up with feather shadows on my eyelids.
Over all I like this product for every day wear, I can trust NOT to get Panda Eyes, no allergy issues and it looks great.

This mascara was just OK. On the positive side, it gives great volume, length and colour, I found it comparable to Dior’s Backstage Mascara so it was pretty good, and it also didn’t dry too quickly so you had time to get it right without it caking. But on the negative, it made my eyes water (fragrance?), flaked and panda’d after 5 or so hours. It really didn’t have staying power. It is such a good price though so I might keep using it if I am only going out for a few hours and just put up with smell/watering eyes 🙂

I have straight Asian lashes.
If you don’t have a naturally curl for your lashes this will not work for you. Well too much effort to get it to look nice anyway. You might want to use a mascara base that holds a curl.
If you curl your lashes this will make it uncurled but says waterproof…
It smells a bit like the Maybelline lash stiletto which is like some kind of sickening floral scent but not as strong as maybelline’s and not long lasting.
This mascara will not give any length. Your lashes will only look longer because the tips are now thicker looking.
This mascara does not clump your lashes together. They will be separated and thickened ever so slightly and look pretty and soft. Your lashes will be very soft to the touch, this will not make them look crispy like some Japanese mascaras or lash blast and when you blink you will not have the sticky feeling of the bottom lashes getting tangled with the top lashes.
To make your lashes look curled you can use heated lash curler wand thing but this will melt off the mascara but you can reapply and it won’t drop this time. The curl will be very soft looking though. You can’t get the ultra wide eye look with this mascara.
I have the lancome virtuose and I think they are about as bad as each other in terms of lengthening and curling. But this mascara is better at keeping the lashes looking natural and separated without clumps.
Overall, you have to work a lot harder to make the straight lashes look nice with this. It’s not a terrible product but just doesn’t work for naturally straight lashes by itself.
This might work well on bottom lashes or as a separating base for an actual lengthening mascara.

The Body Shop is my favorite brand for skin products, and I had never tried the make up they sell, and was in need of a mascara so I thought I would try it out. I’m pretty sure this is the worst mascara I’ve ever owned. It goes on very clumpy and adds nothing to your look, but a mess. And the worst part is that it’s a nightmare to get off, and you always end up looking like a raccoon for 2 days even when the proper make up remover.

Not a great product to use at all! It takes a miraculous effort to put it on as the wand is just too flimsy and always smudges. Once it’s on, it takes another miraculous effort to take it off again and since I’ve started using it, I know that there hasn’t been one day where I managed to get all of it off. That being said, with the effort of removing it, it still has the ability to smudge and clump. This is simply a poorly designed product that hasn’t actually been used by a human being who cares about the cleansing routine before marketing it to the general public. Instead of advertising it as waterproof, it should be advertised as irremovable, stubborn, and a lifetime commitment.

My search for the perfect waterproof mascara continues… This is my life mission now!
Cons:
– Wand is flimsy and the bush is really small making a huge mess! It ‘s pretty gooey right out of the tube.
– Clumps like crazy on the lashes and dries to super glue consistence way too fast to comb the lashes out.
– The formula is really thick and dries to a crusty mess and does nothing to curl or define lashes. Its spider city on my face. Not a good look.
– I got some on my water line and my eye got super irritated, a real teary red mess.
– You would need a jackhammer and a acid solution to get this stuff off in good time. Not kidding I had to soak my eye area in coconut oil for an hour just to loosen this stuff at all! Even at that I lost some lashes in the process of scraping it off. Not cool!
Pros:
-the price (50% off sale) but for full price I would have been way more upset. I am going to try and return it (will let you know if I can)
-The colour. Its a true black but rather matte.
– No racoon eyes for me. At least not until the time for multiple hour scrub off came.

I have a tendency to rub my eyes or get watery eyes and my mascara always seems to smudge. But not with this waterproof mascara. It works very well, and the price is decent too.
joyfulPie3
I have straight, short lashes and this did not do much for me.
It did coat my lashes nicely, was waterproof, no smudges, no clumping. no flaking, and very natural looking.
But since I have short lashes, this was not so great for me. It will work for someone with long lashes, who’s looking for a natural looking mascara.
awedMoth4
It was a good mascara, extended my lashes and still looked natural – but would NOT come off. I had to actually sleep in it and have a shower in the morning, THEN attack it with make up remover again and THEN wash my face, and THEN cover the remaining black circles with concealer..

Got this as GWP so at least I didn’t pay anything for it. I had a choice between another mascara and this one and I chose this because I was looking for something waterproof. I don’t really know if it’s waterproof or not, but I do know it ends up places that I don’t want it. If I only put it on my upper lashes, in a few hours it has smudged along my lower eye giving me dark circles under my eyes. It’s terrible to look in a mirror a few hours later and see a bunch of smudges under your eyes when you didn’t even put mascara on your lower lashes. Yes, it’s nice to have the feel of a little click when you twist the cap closed, but that’s the only positive about this mascara. Big thumbs down from me.

My first waterproof mascara! How did I live 35 years with washable, smudgy, smeary raccoon eyes?! It lengthed, volumized, and darkened enough that I looked like I had mascara on and came off easily with Clinique’s eye makeup remover. I want to find another waterproof mascara with a little more WOW factor so I’ll try some others, but I’ll come back to this if I don’t find something better. Wait until it goes on it’s frequent 40% off offer at RiteAid and give it a whirl so you can experiment for a few dollars.

This has become my go-to mascara. It holds a curl like a dream, which is hard with Asian lashes. It stays put-to be honest,it’s a pain to remove without eye makeup remover, none of my face washes have ever gotten this off. it’s nice and dark and gives me decent length and volume. It’s not amazing;people won’t ask if you’re wearing falsies, but it’s incredibly efficient for a killer price. when i want more oomph i’ll layer a lengthening mascara over it,but i’m hoping to eventually find a drugstore product that can hold my curl like this and give me drama.

My first waterproof mascara. Back then i didn’t know about clumpyness but I do remember not liking this mascara because whenever I put it on I always saw a black glob or line in my peripheral vision. I thought all mascaras globbed on like that. Plus I didn’t know the existence of waterproof eye make up remover back then and remembered using tons and tons of my mother’s estee lauder eye make up remover to “remove” the mascara. After that I did not like mascara and did not use mascara again unless it was for special events. After trying some other brands of mascara in my last year of high school i realized not all of them was not has bad as this one.

Whenever I run out of mascara and don’t want to spend more money on Maybelline Full n’ Soft, I always buy this mascara. It stays on all day without budging or smearing and gives good volume and curl. My only complaint is I prefer the black-brown shade and haven’t been able to find that for months since Wal-mart carries the Jet Black shade only now.
euphoricKitten7
I just needed a generic waterproof mascara for nights I go out or sweaty days- it holds up fairly well and rinses off easily with my face wash and make up remover and is dirt cheap so lippies for that. I find it pretty clumpy/messy, though, and not particularly thickening or defining for my straight long Asian lashes. Holds my curl better than nonwaterproof mascara, but still not the prettiest effect.
peskyDingo4
Even though it was “waterproof” it kept on smudging, even when my eyes made no contact with water or my hand. 🙁
peskyChile5
THIS MASCARA IS AWESOME. You may think it looks cheap and you’re gonna get what you paid for, but that is NOT THE CASE. It defines my lashes and does not clump. Great for everyday makeup: doesn’t clump or make lashes spidery, defines and darkens them to make them noticeable.

I shop at Aldi regularly for grocery bargains, and I’d heard good things about the Lacura products, so I decided to pick them up and try a few. I chose this over the volume mascara, since I tend to have a lot of eye watering due to allergies and need a waterproof. First off, although this was ridiculously cheap (under $4), the packaging looks and feels high-end. The tube is very similar to Lancome Hypnose. The mascara is waterproof and will last all day with no raccoon eyes or flaking, and it is somewhat buildable – but you’re definitely not going to get long fluffy glam lashes from this. I would compare it to an Aveda or other “natural” type mascara – it gives a “you, but better” look in that it does add color and some length, but not much. It is great for daytime, or if you already have fairly long, dark, curly lashes (which I do) and just want a boost. If you need something to provide a lot of length and volume, or you are wanting something equivalent to Lancome Hypnose or Diorshow, you will be disappointed in this. However, I really like this as a great daytime mascara that won’t run. It also comes off very easily with any makeup remover or cold cream. I’m very pleased with all of the Lacura products I’ve tried and will definitely repurchase this.

The line of Lacura makeup is packaged beautifully and actually looks high end. Their claim is that it is “The long-lasting, waterproof formula in Lacura™ Waterproof Mascara with beeswax and panthenol creates perfectly defined, amazingly long lashes with the perfect curl. Your lashes will be optimally conditioned without clumping, appearing full and thick. For expressive eyes all day long.”
I would say it’s great at being waterproof, which it doesn’t give you a case of raccoon eyes and doesn’t flake at all–also very very easy to remove which is great. However, the brush is old fashion. It’s not a chubber plastic brush that you get with most drug store mascaras, so don’t expect volume even if you put on 15 coats (trust me I’ve tried, and it doesn’t really claim tons of volume). If you want a natural tinted eyelash look or to coat the bottom lashes, this would be fantastic for you. If you want va va voom fake eyelash look–keep looking. It also doesn’t dry out lashes or get everywhere. However, the length and curl–meh.
I wouldn’t repurchase for the top lashes since I like the glam eye look, but I would buy again for the bottom lashes since it’s awesome for those little guys since a lot of mascaras leave you with a case of the raccoon peepers if you apply to the bottom lashes.

This mascara was okay. It didn’t provide much structure nor length. The brush itself clumped a lot and would constantly need to be wiped/cleaned.

I am extremely disappointed with this because the only reason I bought it was because the sales girl told me how fantastic it was. My number one requirement for mascara is that it doesn’t smudge and this one smudged worse than some supermarket brands I’ve tried. Take your $14, go to Sephora or a department store and buy a Clinique mascara (which in my experience does not smudge at all).
cruelSeagull3
UGH. This mascara is actually really awful. It didn’t bring UP my lashes like every other mascara, it made them spidery. The tube is so cute, and looks so promising. It is such a glossy, dark black. I’m so mad this didn’t do anything. By the end of the day my lashes were clumped together, and was flaking like CRAZY all over. Don’t waste your money.
