I LOVE THIS MASCARA!!!! It holds my curl, it lengthens and volumizes my lashes!!! The only thing I don’t like is the smell. The one I bought has a sketchy smell

Now that i’ve tried more mascaras than i have in the past, these are my thoughts on this mascara:
Things I like:
– lengthen and curled my lashes
– separates the lashes well
– it neither smudges nor does it clump the lashes
– loving the packaging,. especially during the times where my relatives and friends getting confused over this mascara’s packaging at first glance, if you know what i mean.
– It has small/short separated bristles which i like. It works well for my lower lashes tho it doesn’t perform the best but I’m okey with it.
Things I don’t like:
– Doesn’t volumize the lashes. It claims to be a falsies drama effect mascara but doesn’t volumize the lashes. I personally prefer volume than length for my lashes as i my lashes are naturally long and curled.
– Too hard to remove. Personally, I now reach for maybelline’s non waterproof mascaras and only purchase waterproof mascaras for my lower lashes.
Some people say they don’t like that this mascara is wet and that it transfers. It’s true. I takes some time for it to dry but of course it doesn’t take very long, cz it’s a waterproof mascara and just like any other maybelline’s waterproof mascaras, it can be very difficult to remove.
A lil tip for you: for mascaras, don’t use makeup remover. Trust me, it won’t work. Don’t waste your money just to get the strongest makeup remover to remove this lil thing.
Instead, use olive oil. Prepare tissue beforehand. Wet you thumb and index finger with olive oil. Then rub your lashes carefully and gently till the mascara has removed completely. Then clean your fingers with the tissue then wipe your eyelids with it. Easy peasy, cheaper and good for the lashes.

I love most Maybelline’s mascaras but this one was bad. Wet, did nothing but clumped my lashes and added no length. Made it hard to build them when it never dried . Did not lift or look like falsies what so ever!! I had to use my old Full and Soft Maybelline mascara to the ends to lengthen and soften them out a bit. Will not repurchase. Waste of money unfortunately.

Reason of buying : This mascara was on sale of 50% off from its original price. I grabbed it without a second thought and I am running out of a good mascara. I am always attracted to the gimmick of “drama” which gives me an impression that it can create a dramatically long, curl and full volume lashes.
Packaging : It comes in a laminated plastic on a printed paper card packaging. I am impressed because most of the mascaras we have in drug stores, be it high end or cheapskate, they are only selling the tubes. Nothing extra on packaging, what more to say giving you instructions in tiny words and different languages. It has a very girlish Barbie doll style of colours – metallic pink, red and very eye-catching compares to the old fashion mascara tubes which are black, dark blue colours. This is something fancy and just by looking at it, it wins by just its outlook and colours combination. What I like most is the brush/bristle as it is made of plastic and every brush is short and slim. This is ideal for someone like me who has a short lashes and using full volume brush/bristle like other Maybelline mascara, for example Magnum Barbie, is such a pain and hard to avoid not to accidentally smear on my eyelids when applying it. I have no problem with the brush/bristle and some more it is not easy to find a good mascara with short brush.
Verdict : I bought Very Black version and I am a bit stunt the negative comments in MUA. However, it does perform up to my standard and no clump lashes or “cockrach legs” effect on my lashes at all! I apply 2 lashes with a second layer applied shortly after a few minutes. It defines every lashes to make it looks long, voluminous and thick. It makes my eyes look like they finally have lashes. LOL. Worth to notice that it stated it is waterproof. It carries out its promise and it lasts me almost whole day, from 6am to 6pm working hours and not even a single smear or dropping of clumps on my face or onto my glasses. No worries if you yawn and endup with watery eyes due to tiredness, or even crying. It still keeps in good shape and stays tough. The mascara is just in good texture, not too thick because if it is too thick, it might end up clumpy and not easy to spread out/apply. Two interesting points on this mascara are that, firstly, this is so far the first mascara that stated it is safe for contact lenses. I wear contact lenses occasionally and I understand the inconveniences and irritation when a clump of dried mascara drops inside my eyes when I apply it too thick. Secondly, it is made in Canada. Nowadays, if you are also staying in Asia countries, you will find that most of the Maybelline or Loreal makeup products are made in China. But this mascara is somehow an exception. This mascara surely worth the money paid for with its quality and performance. No waste money spent or regret at all. A little trick for dried up mascara is to drip in a few drops of contact lenses solution into it to dilute the mascara and mix it well with the brush/bristle. The mascara will be back in life again and it can still last for many uses.
Cons : No. But it might be a bit difficult to remove it with my Garnier Micellar Water and it is understandable as it is waterproof.. Well, at least there is no falling of my real eye lashes from over rubbing to get rid of it. The original price of the mascara can be quite bothersome. But I surely will grab another one or two if it is on sale again!

I usually love Maybelline’s mascaras, but this is absolutely the worst one I have ever tried. It is so extremely clumpy and I am going out to get a different one ASAP.

One of the worst mascara’s I have used. It clumps like hell. I love the regular “falsies” mascara – the one in the purple tube and I had high hopes for this one aswell. But it’s horrendous.

I’m surprised at the poor reviews, because I really like this mascara! I got it at Winners so I didn’t pay full price, but I think it’s worth paying it because of the way it works. I like it better than some of the high end mascaras I have!
I have it in Very Black, and the way the wand is made it really fans out my lashes, separates them without clumping and actually pushes them up. I am not one to curl my lashes, so the fact that this mascara makes them curl up is a great bonus for me. I also get quite a lot of length, and some volume – which gets even better if I use a primer underneath.
I have zero complaints about this mascara, it is no worse than the ones I paid $30+ for.

I bought this on a whim and when I first tried it, I find that the formula is very wet that it clumps my eyelashes together and smudges on my lids but I can see that it has potential since it holds up the curl of my lashes.
So the next day I tried it again, but this time, I first wipe the wand with a tissue. This removes excess product on the wand. Lo and behold! My lashes are curly, black and defined and stays that way the whole day! I live in a hot and humid climate so for a drugstore mascara to hold up the curl this long, it’s quite magical. I will repurchase this.
Again, I really wanna emphasize that you HAVE to wipe the excess on a tissue before each application. Don’t forget to remove excess product on the tip of the wand too.

I really love this mascara. it gives a ton of volume and lengthens lashes a ton. it’s very waterproof, it does not smudge. However, after about 5 hours lashes get less volume and looks as if i wasn’t wearing mascara. Overall great drugstore mascara.
