Background: My lashes are a medium length (~1cm). They are straight, black and a little sparse. I prefer my lashes to look super natural and only really put mascara on the outer half of my lashes to lengthen. I like to scrape off the excess mascara then wipe the applicator with tissue to apply a really thin coat. Depending on the mascara, I will either curl before application, or after the mascara has dried (I wait ~10mins). I prefer my curl to be very slight, more like an upward curve, because I feel that it looks most natural.
I bought this in black brown by accident, but it is perfect for natural looking post-mascara lashes. The colour is not too light, it’s dark enough to highlight the tips so that it gives a lengthening affect. It does not clump and dries soft – my lashes do not feel crunchy after. If I curl before application, most of my lashes fall into a soft curve but some completely straighten, so with this mascara I prefer to curl after application. I put on 2 thin quick coats and let my lashes dry for at least 10 minutes, then I curl as normal. The mascara dries well and does not clump and stick to the lash curler. The curl holds really well all day.
I got this in non-waterproof, it washes off really easily! I can get most of it off with water but I’ve never had a problem with it smudging under my eye. It’s also pretty cheap ($5-8CAD depending on where you buy it) and has a good amount of product (9ml). The wand is the traditional bristle wand (which I really like) and I find that it does a good job of separating and coating the lashes.
