What a waste of five bucks. The formula is so watery that one swipe clumps all the lashes together into like three big spikes that smear all over your brow bone and lower lid if you dare to blink.
The only way I could make it work was by wiping off the brush thoroughly between each application and then going back in with a lash comb afterwards, and even then, my lashes are spidery and sparse looking.
It smears and flakes all day too, I found myself continually checking in the mirror and wiping away greasy smears and fallout. Total waste of money and super frustrating to use.
The packing itself is fine, serviceable but nothing special, and the price seems great until you realize that the money is pretty much going in the garbage.

I didn’t have high hopes for this mascara, but I gotta say, I love it. I have very short, light, and sparse lashes, and this makes them look pretty damn nice. It does more in terms of length rather than volume, which I don’t mind, and as the name implies, it does not clump. My qualm with this is that it does give me panda eyes, so I have to be very careful as to not apply too much to my lower lashes.

This mascara is a true gem. After spending R700 on a very famous lash transplanting mascara that wasnt very “younique”…..so I opted for something much cheaper and as effective.
pros: cheap, readily available, nice packaging and has a lash separating brush. It provides nice lenght.
cons: slightly thin and runny, and so multiple applications are required. Can clump if you get your lashes wet.
**TIP** I use the mascara along with the essence extreme volume range, and since then, the questions as to whether my lashes are real, are copious.

This is the cheapest mascara I have ever tried and I will buy it again.
The formula is wet, which fits my lashes perfectly, the curl holds all day. Since my eyelids are a bit oily though, there is usually some smudging under my brow bone if I put too much on the inner corner lashes. Lower lashline doesn’t smudge, or very little.
The brush is the reason I bought it though, because it’s just like Lash Blast/the Max Factor equivalent. I gotta say that it performs just the same when it comes to seperating the lashes.
The opening for the wand could’ve been smaller though, so it wipes off a bit more of the product as you pull it out, that’s my only complain about the packaging.
Overal, super good and will repurchase.

I purchased the Essence Plump No Clump Mascara in deep black (the green tube) and after trialing it for around three days it has sat in my makeup drawer unused since. Formula is far too wet and ends up under my eyes within three hours of wear, no staying power. Tried to layer it with two other mascaras, one still ended up under my eyes and the second time it hardened to the point my lashes were so stiff it hurt. Tube has nothing to clean the excess off the brush so opening it now (roughly two months after the first open), the brush is so caked with mascara you can’t see the brush bristles. Not even worth the $6-$7 NZD price tag… bin it goes…

It’s an alright mascara. Very very wet formula…Almost runny. However, it works to form length but can clump quite easily if you apply in haste. Decent for the price point tho. I doubt I ll repurchase as I’ve since discovered Wet n Wild Mega length. Essence has much better mascaras than this one to try. Misleading name too, there’s nothing plumping about this mascara whatsoever!
Had to take it down a lippie…After only one week, the packaging screwed up completely. Pulled out the wand, the stopper was stuck in the cap rendering it useless and the formula was just a purely liquid mess. Thankfully it was cheap!

This is one of the more “expensive” Essence mascaras – I think it was 5 dollars at Ulta, which is still very cheap. It’s very good. The wand is a large, rubber wand similar to Cover Girl Lash Blast type wands. The only downside to the brush is that it’s very large so difficult to get in corners. But the mascara overall performs very well. There is very little clumping, and the mascara defines and lengthens lashes nicely. It does thicken, but it’s not a super-dramatic thickening look. You can get away with multiple coats. I haven’t noticed any flaking. It comes off quite easily with soap or makeup remover.
The tube is an attractive orangey-peachy colour which makes it super easy to find in drawer or makeup bag. The tube is a tiny bit big and cumbersome though, I guess to accommodate the large brush.
I don’t want to say that this is a good mascara “for the price”. Mascara is important enough to me that it’s not worth cheaping out on, and a cheap mascara that doesn’t achieve good results is just not worth it. Having said that, I would buy this mascara again, not because it’s cheap but because it’s GOOD. Essence does it again.
