This is Australis’ offering in the ‘tubular’ mascara category. It is very pretty when first applied, with a glossy rich black pigment that lengthens well. However, it smudges dreadfully beneath the eyes and does so very quickly, an hour after applying I look like I’ve been sweating on the dance floor all evening. This smudging is not something I’ve experienced with a tubular mascara previously. It almost seems to be a mix of a tubular and traditional mascara, as when washing it off in the shower under warm water, the mascara on the lashes will rinse away cleanly, but the panda eyes below the bottom lid will remain until removed with micellar water. I will not repurchase as the performance is so bad with the terrible smudging, plus I do specifically like a tubular mascara for ease of removal. This is my first drugstore tubular mascara and was a major disappointment.
