I am a mascara junkie and have tried seemingly every luxury brand (Armani, Lancome, Dior, Too Faced, Better than Sex, Milk,. etc.) and drug store brand. This is my HG! It is soooooo black and shiny – nothing compares. While I typically like “fluffy” pointed brushes, I make an exception for this. The small-bristle, plastic brush coats every lash and the end can be used to separate and fan-out lashes. Amazing. It never clumps regardless of how many coats you use and it does not drag down lash curl even after 18 hours. It does not flake, even though I use a great deal of moisturizer and sunscreen near my eyes. As a bonus, it washes off so easily with Cetaphil cleaner and doesn’t create the dreaded waxy raccoon eyes following cleanser. It does have a rose fragrance which I loathed when I started using this. The mascara is so wonderful that I became accustomed to it and now only notice it right at the beginning.

After quite a while testing every so-called black volumizing mascara, from drugstore to high-end, this one is the tops. A deep intense black, dramatic volume and minimal to no clumping. I’ve heard it takes a few tries to get this clump-free, and after the 1st 2 applications, feel pretty good about that part. Interesting brush – not a traditional volumizing brush, but a bristle wand with short adn long bristles interspersed. Holds a curl. There’s a strong floral-ish fragrance that hopefully will go away, but it may be too much for those with sensitivities. Lashes feel coated but not crunchy. Pretty sure this is my HG! $$$$.
