First my mistake was not realizing that it’s a maxi brush mascara so I was really surprised ))) but it was my fault so my negative review is not because of this. If you have sensitive eyes this may give you allergies as it’s very perfumed (for the ref. I have allergies for Maybelline mascaras). My eyes burnt pretty bad. Also the effect is very underwhelming as it’s a natural look mascara, no wow effect and nothing really specail. No clumps, no panda eyes but nothing to be excited for overall.

Love it!
I have relatively short but full eyelashes and still crave for length and volume. This mascara does the trick for me but ONLY when applied multiple times, coat after coat after coat. It gives the most amazing false-lash effect, but not the stand-out fake one. It may clump a bit but nothing an eyebrow brush, or even your finger, can’t fix.
I am removing a lippie since I have not tested it for long periods of time and cannot attest for its longevity nor its “smudgeproofness”.

I bought this mascara on a whim – I was buying nail polishes on their website, but I had to spend a minimum of £25, so I decided to try one of their mascaras. You can never have too many mascaras!
From the word ‘luxurious’ I expected great things, perhaps a night-out, false lash effect. But instead I just found this mascara is very much about a natural look. I found the bendy head slightly annoying, as the brush bends away, so you can’t control how much pressure you put on and I feel like I am about to brake it off every time I put it back in.
This is nice enough day wear mascara, but I am underwhelmed, so wouldn’t repurchase.

I bought the maxi brush version of this mascara impulsively without reading any reviews beforehand, but boy am I glad I did as this is now my second favourite mascara of all time.
I was so terrified when I first tried it as I had no preconceived notions of it from reviews or anything, but it turned out to be stunning. I was told, on the same day I first tried it, that I looked like I had false lashes on.
Slightly on the clumpy side, but the overwhelming majority of mascaras I’ve tried do that. It gives great volume and length, and it especially lengthens my lower lashes.
I do have to apply about four coats to get the full false lash effect, though. Applying one coat is still pretty good, but being me I need them to be outrageous at all times 😉
Doesn’t flake or smudge, holds a curl pretty well. I wish it lengthened my lashes just that little bit more, though, but other than its just stunning – no complaints and you get a ton of product for the price – more than most drugstore mascaras.

This short review is for the Luxurious Lashes Extra Volume Brush mascara (non-waterproof) version – with the gold cap, as pictured above.
To be fair, my lashes are naturally long, so most mascaras work well for me. This one doesn’t clump or flake, it separates lashes beautifully, the wand is just the right size, it doesn’t irritate my eyes and it’s easy to remove. I find it much better than comparably priced mascaras from Catrice or Rimmel.

I bought the waterproof mascara when it was on sale (3,90€). It is definitely not worth it to buy again.
What I really liked about it, was the lightness of the mascara. For volume you will need two coats. The mascara comes with a black box, looks very luxurious. Best of it, it is really waterproof. It can easily survive a long shower.
However, the plastic brush hurts my eyelids. It seems like it’s too sharp for me. Maybe with a different applying technique it can be solved, but for me, it doesn’t work.
Also, the brush seems too big for the opening. When you take the brush out to apply mascara, the brush scrapes along the edges of the opening. This causes lots of tiny black splatters. If you do this near clothing, like I did, the shirt is ruined. I tried it out several times, and even when it was nearly empty, it still caused splatters! Besides, after several hours, it started to smudge. I had black spots around my eyes. If you don’t clean the smudges, you’ll look like a panda at the end of the day.

This mascara dries up in one day! It’s full of bad ingredients and definitely not worth the money.

For about 5 euro per mascara, I spent 20 euro just buying these mascaras this summer in Italy. I have both the waterproof and non-waterproof version of it and I absolutely love them.
First time I tried one of them on was in 2009, when I received one from my mother when she came home from Italy. I had another one too from Kiko that I didn’t like and threw away, but one day when the Maybelline one ran out, I bit it and decided to try the non-waterproof one out. I can just tell you this, I was NOT disappointed. My tiny lashes got a great boost (falsh lashes-level) and stayed full and curved for hours. As it wasn’t waterproof, it got smudged around 12th hour, but except for that it made a great impression on me. After that, I tried Maybelline’s Express-mascara and stayed with it for years, until I went to Italy this summer and could buy this mascara again. I bought and tried the waterproof one too, and it really is as it says – waterproof and stays on. A little smudgy this one too when it rains, but for the price I won’t complain if it can’t stand Japanese humidity. But not experience with it flaking or behaving weirdly.
My only complaint is that although the waterproof one lasts more than 2 months, the gold one was done within the first 2 months. I don’t know why, as I don’t use it more than the other one, but it made me annoyed. It also has a strong SMELL, the regular one, and I write it in capital letters because it was the first thing that hit me when trying it on. I don’t mind that much, but I think there are people out there who don’t like it so I wouldn’t recommend them to try it on. The waterproof one, however, doesn’t have it so that one should be okay also for sensitive people.
