I am on my second round with this one, I was inspired to try this out after reading about the make up used in Lord of the Rings (lol) in the words of Liv Tyler.
Anyway, what I look for in a mascara is something that does not transform my eyelashes into something they are not (i.e. spider-y, really thick etc.), but something that enhance what they are so that with the help of my mascara they look vey natural, long, not too much, and thanks to the excellent brush they do not lump (at all!). For me it looks good for about eight hours, maybe, then it drizzles. It is very easy to take off, no hard scrubbing nor many rounds with the make up remover. A big pluss is also the fact that it is fragrance free. Also I find the price to be very good, as I am a firm believer in changing your mascara often, and I do not need the big mascaras because I could never empty one – and this one is perfect for this lifestyle, if I may call it that.
Theres a few negatives, but I can live with it: it dries up very very fast, so you have to rush a little bit to put it on. When I warm it up before use it is easier to use. Also, I dont know why exactly, but I find this one a little bit difficult to get it close to the roots, and I just really hate it when people put mascara on the tip of the eyelashes, not by the roots. This is also a problem that can be solved when warming the mascara before use.
I keep buying this one as my absolute favorite mascara (Laura Mercier) is not available in my country, I recommend this if you’re looking for an enhancing mascara, Lord of the Rings or Downton Abbey aesthetics rather than Kardashian-Jenner kind of eyelash aesthetics.

I won’t buy this again, as the one from Laura Mercier is so much better for me and my Downton Abbey #aesthetics.

It’s a good thing this was a free sample. I would never buy it. In fact, I will throw away this sample. This mascara contains a great deal of alcohol (the drying type of alcohol) which makes it difficult to control the application. It dries so quickly that you don’t have the opportunity to “straighten up” anything that is “out of place.” This mascara provides absolutely no thickness or pigment. The only positive comment I can provide is that it lengthens well. Also, the brush defines well and the shape of the brush allows you to maneuver every small lash. However, I find that the application is very sticky because of the fact that it dries too quickly. I would never buy this. The packaging is average. Clinique should not charge customers for this item. Clinique should not even give it away for free. This product was definitely a “MISS” for Clinique.

This is my HG mascara! If you have dark lashes and just need a subtle mascara this is the one. Most people dont even think I am wearing mascara when I wear this, because it looks natural and not clumpy. Super easy to wash off and easy on my sensitive eyes. Also comes in Black and Dark brown. I love this!
