I’ve tried a lot of mascaras, and a lot of tubing mascaras, but none that hold up to its smudge-free claim like Clinique’s lash power.
Another thing that other tubing mascaras are terrible at is holding a curl, however the curling version keeps my stick straight Asian lashes up even in humid, tropical weather.
Removal is a breeze, I barely have to rub my eyes. The tiny brushes of the lash power range, allows me to get straight into the roots of my lashes without poking my eye out.
I can’t give it the full 5 stars only because of the price. At SGD39 for something I have to throw away 6 months later, it’s a little steep. Still won’t stop me from buying it!

This is probably one of the best mascaras I’ve ever tried. I’ve never tried a Clinique mascara before, but this one is really amazing.
First off, the wand itself; it is literally one of the smallest mascara wands I’ve ever seen in my life. The tube itself is quite small, and so is the wand, correspondingly. The wand is sort of a spoon-shaped one, slightly curved, with wire bristles tapering at the beginning and at the end of the wand, with one side having longer bristles than the other. You get the idea, hehe. I think that it’s a really great wand because you can really get deep down to the root of the lash and coat all of them (even that pesky inner corner!) without having to worry about getting any product on your eyelids. It’s also fantastic for doing justice to your lower lashes; you can use the concave side of the spoon brush and it “hugs” the lower lashes perfectly and gives a great amount of definition to those.
I love the results from this mascara; the length I get is absolutely incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever had a mascara give me such length before! It also gives great volume, too, but doesn’t clump. I have never had clumping issues, thanks to the wand, probably, and my lashes are separated, but not to the extent that they are invisible against my eye makeup. As for its job as a curling mascara, unfortunately, it falls short. It doesn’t curl my lashes at all; it may be possible to get something if you hold the wand up against the lashes for a few seconds after application, but it didn’t curl otherwise.
The formula here is also great; it is a bit on the wet side, but not as wet as many other lengthening/volumizing products, and it differs because of a very quick drying time. What I thought was interesting was that it didn’t smudge or flake at all, which is awesome, but what it dried to was kinda cool. When I was taking it off, the mascara didn’t smudge away like most others did; it came off in almost-tubes off my lashes. I don’t really know how to make that sound less disgusting, so I won’t go into detail, but the bottom line is, it comes off cleanly and differently than most mascaras. I have the washable kind, and it fares pretty well throughout the day and comes off without too much of a problem.
Lash Power Curling also come with a decent price tag; for a high end mascara, it costs $16. Imo, that’s a great price for such a great product. The tube is very small, silver and chrome, and very sleek-looking. Very travel-friendly. Overall, I would totally recommend this to anyone out there; this is seriously an amazing mascara, an HG product for me. 🙂

I had pretty much given up on mascaras until this one! All other mascaras left my sensitive eyes itchy and watery, and I couldn’t wait to take them off… Then when I did take them off with makeup remover, my poor eyes were left stinging. This mascara has amazing staying power, holds my curl, doesn’t smudge (bonus for me), doesn’t flake, and it feels nice and light on my lashes. What I really love is that it comes off with warm water (no makeup remover needed!) without leaving me with panda eyes and my eyes feel as if I didn’t have any mascara on at all. I’ve been wearing this for a week straight with no problem at all, which is more than I can say for any other mascara for a while now 🙂 I ordered it for a bargain price from Strawberrynet. LOVE

My favourite of all time! I like the original, but find this a little more dry and easy to use. Its hard to find in Canada, but I bought it in a multipack at Winners. No smudging, no clumps, decent buildable volume and length, easy to remove, reasonable price…I can’t stand others now. My eyelashes are a lot healthier with this easy-to-remove stuff. All it takes is a shower or warm face wash and it rolls off. Hope it stays!

I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this yet! I started using this mascara when Clinique released it, and I’ve loved it ever since. It gives me great definition and length. Not as much volume, but as I like a lot more length than anything, that’s okay with me. The curved brush helps my lashes hold a curl better, and the “tubing” formula comes off easily when I wash my face at night. Love it- only department store mascara I’ll buy!

I was using this mascara about a year ago, and now I noticed I haven’t reviewed it at all. Performance-wise, I really didn’t notice much difference compared to Clinique’s original Lash Power. The only obvious difference is the slightly curved brush. The small brush is very convenient to use, depositing an even amount of colour and providing a very clean natural look. No drama here, and I didn’t notice the curling effect either, but it’s a very good everyday mascara that stays put exceptionally well until you remove it with warm water. However, I prefer Estee Lauder’s Double Wear over both Lash Power versions. That one also comes off with only warm water (and BTW, both brands are owned by Estee Lauder).

This is a great mascara! The black colour is intense. It does not flick, it does not smudge. It holds the curl and it thickens my lashes. My lashes seem to be longer and more apparent after application. I like the design of the applicator and it does makes things more convenient. I will definitely buy it again.

This is the new Lash Power mascara that has a curved brush for curling. It was released with their fall collection. I had the Lash Power sample for ages and I loved the staying power,a dn wanted to get this. There are some unusual things I experienced though.
I went to the Clinique counter to try it out, and it went on fine, no irritations. So I went back another day to try it again and bought it. The SA who put it on me was really good, she knew how to make my eyelashes very volumous with the mascara. But when I got home, I was a bit disappointed at the lack of volume, and got only a bit of length. My lashes are quite long already. The regular Lash Power volumizes better. Also, I got a slight itch in my eyes. But after the third time I wore it, it stopped. I took a break from it since then to see if it was my eyes or the mascara. I let my friend try it and she said her eyes itched for a while, and then the itch was gone. I never had this problem with the Lash Power. Maybe it’s a first time thing? I dunno, will update on that.
Apart from that, I like the way it opens up the eyes. It doesn’t curl very dramatically though (my lashes are stubborn anyway) Using a curler helps. It makes the lashes go upwards and makes them uniformed, meaning you won’t get lashes that point up and down. You need to use the curved side to hold your lashes up for a sec or two to get the curl. The effect is fluttery and pretty, and good separation (depending on how thick your eyelashes are, this may be different for you). Because of the formula, the lashes feel a bit crunchy when it’s dry, but it doesn’t look like it so it’s no big deal to me. If you’re looking for a dramatic mascara, I don’t recommend this. It is a very natural looking daytime mascara, great for people who don’t like the mascara look.
While the regular Lash Power is great, has better volume IMO and a teeny tiny bit more more length, the lashes are pretty straight and they sometimes look unruly (pointing up and down). It can also make the lashes stick together. I am quite torn between the two.
Lasting power and removal is the same like the Lash Power, which is why I got it in the first place. Every other mascara smudges on me, even waterproof. (waterproof mixes with the oil from the skin.) I’ve tried Lancome Hypnose, Estee Lauder Turbolash, MAC, Maybelline, The Body Shop, Clinique High Impact, Majolica Majorca, L’Oreal, Imju’s Fiberwig. All smudge, the last two flaked on me. (PS: The Fiberwig is cheaper than this mascara here. Sad!)
A lot of people complain about how difficult it is to take off, which I find weird. I suppose these people have been using removal methods for normal mascaras. This is a tubing mascara with thermal technology. With this, you need to let the lashes soak up some warm water to loosen it. Don’t rub it off at first, wait for the lashes to get soft. Then slowly with more warm water on your fingers, gently rub downwards. It will come off in pieces/tubes without making you lose lashes. It’s not very difficult.
The staying power, like the Lash Power, is amazing. I only had flaking once when I was having it on from morning till late at night, and had an adventurous outing with my friends. Even the flakes were not noticable. They can be brushed off easily. For contact lens wearers who are concerned about flakes getting in the eyes and damaging them, you may want to get in touch with Cliniqie to ask them if it’s contact lens safe.
Overall, I like this mascara, and I’m willing to sacrifice the volume for the staying power. (unless I get in contact with that SA to show me how she made it voluminous!) Need to wait and see if I suffer from that itch again, but it is a minor type of itch. I hope I’m not allergic! If I still have itching I’ll have to get the Lash Power instead…
