I originally bought the waterproof version of this mascara back when my bare minerals flawless definition waterproof tube dried out and I was looking for a cheaper option. I Really liked the way that it made my lashes look, Extra long and defined and it held a nice curl to it to. After liking the waterproof version so much I figure that I should try their original formula as well especially since they were so cheap and I had a $3.50 ulta coupon at the time so it would practically be free. I was a bit disappointed to find that some of the things that I liked about this mascara in the waterproof version didn’t really apply to the non waterproof formula. the formula was much wetter so you had to be very careful when applying it so that you wouldn’t get smears all over your lid. The brush defined and lengthened nicely to but I noticed that there wasn’t much volume or curl with this formula. But honestly, overall with both the waterproof and regular formula I didn’t really have much complaints. I did like the waterproof version better but they were both very decent mascaras especially for the price paid. One of the only things that mostly irked me about them was the big and clunky tube with the lettering and décor on it that kinda tends to chip away/wear off. when they dry out on me though I don’t believe that I will be repurchasing the original formula though. Also, just an FYI this is an exact dupe to Smashbox’s mile high mascara if you compare the brushes which are exactly identical. Smashbox’s tube is also a whopping $23 compared to essence’s very humble $5 price tag. So if you were thinking about trying theirs out I suggest you save yourself quite a bit of money by trying lash mania reloaded by essence first

I bought this at Ulta online. The first tube I got, the wand broke off in the tube the first time I opened it. Not a good start. The second one is fine, except it flakes like crazy, clumps a lot and makes my eyes sting.

This mascara SUCKS. It clumps, smears everywhere and is extremely messy and irritates my eyes every time I use it. The price is fantastic and the packaging is ok but it feels like something I’d buy from the dollar store. Definitely not repurchasing.

I purchased this mascara because of a YouTube tutorial. I generally like Essence products, but this was a major disappointment. It went on very wet. This meant that it was smearing whilst I was applying it. I have to admit that despite the difficulties I had with application, I LOVED the finished look of this mascara. It really looked pretty fabulous. However…… this smudges sooooo badly and soooo quickly. Because I liked the look of the mascara, I gave it another try, but the smudging is terrible. Would definitely not repurchase!

Works like the mascara from Chanel Le Volume but in The Netherlands 10 times cheaper.
A very, very good mascara for volume and curl in the eyelashes.
The volume is on his best when you put 2 layers on yoyr eyelashes than you wait a few minutes to let it dry and than you bring the thirth layer on your lashes.

I got this in a whim and I am so glad I did. I have been liking the Maybelline Lash sensational mascara lately and thought I would try this as I was finding the other formula a bit drying. This mascara works just as good and is even cheaper. I don’t have any problems getting the bottom of my lashes with the brush like some people were saying. It gives me good volume, length and holds a curl just fine.

My lashes lack length, volume and curl and this mascara takes care of the first two problems. It really gives me long, thick lashes BUT I really have to layer some coats to get this result. Also,it is not waterproof so I can’t even tell you how many times I have returned home only to realise I looked like a raccoon the whole day!I have been using it for the past couple of months and I noticed my lashes became weaker,I don’t know if it was because of the often use of mascara or because this one contains something that harms my lashes,so keep this in mind too.

I have very straight lashes and no mascara I’ve tried (besides waterproof) holds the curl. This was no exception, after I curled my lashes and applied this, the curl dropped almost instantly. However………. when I use this without curling my lashes, it lifts them a TINY bit, enough to make them noticeable, and I haven’t had a non-waterproof mascara that lifts my eyelashes at all without curling them, so for that I give this a 3 stars.

I’m Asian with short but not so straight lashes and this is so good for my lashes. It is not heavy. It easily lengthens with 1 coat. Thicker and longer with 2 coats. It is sooo light and does not clump. I love the rubber wand cos my short lashes doesn’t do well with big fat bristles. Cheap at $6.50 in Singapore. My new favourite! 🙂

Doesn’t clump or flake, has good staying power, and super cheap. Doesn’t add much volume. The brush is made of a flexible plastic/rubber material, which is nice however I’ve noticed that while my lashes get lengthened quite nicely with this stuff, they will sometimes, not always, stick together. I think it’s the brush because it’s easily fixed with a swipe of an old (clean) almay mascara brush. I like this mascara for a more natural look, but for everything else I do prefer Essence’s Lash Princess volume mascara (the one with pink detailing on the tube, not the green one) because it gives the same nice length but adds more volume.
