Y’all, I never write reviews (this is my first review EVER) but felt I had to for this one. I have tried the following mascara primers: Lancome’s, Clinique’s, Loreal’s, Maybelline’s, Tarte’s, and Urban Decay’s. NONE of them came close to this, and this primer is much cheaper than most of the ones I mentioned. My search for mascara primers stopped when I tried this one. This primer separates my lashes, and my lashes stay curled. It has incredible staying power. It doesn’t sting my eyes. This primer is phenomenal, and I want to spread the good word. I got mine off of Ebay. If I could buy this 100 times over, I would.

This stuff is amazing if you use eyelash heater (no idea what it’s supposed to be called in English lol). So eyelash heater is basically something that works like a hair curling iron for the hair but it’s a small tip that heats up and is designed for keeping the curl of lashes. Usually my lash routine is I curl it with whatever eyelash curler that everyone are familiar with and then apply mascara and heat it up to hold the curl. However the problem to this routine is that some mascara have a tendency of melting off onto the eyelash heater when it’s heated therefore the effect is less intense as I desired. But if I apply this stuff before I heat my lashes, my lashes can be somehow protected by the heat and doesn’t melt off, even the fibre doesn’t melt off!!! It just gets stiffer a bit (not too harden) and able to literally hold the curl all day!! I can easily add on my black mascara on top of it without making a mess and look better. I have medium length lash and they are thick which doesn’t hold the curl well but this thing help lengthening which is exactly I’m going for and pair well with my eyelash heater

I never usually write reviews but since I am sooo blown away by this product that I am writing this.
I actually first loved the lengthening effect Etude House Lengthening Primer has given me but it dries out my lashes and makes any mascara I put on top of it gray. The only reason I put up with it is because my lashes stay curled and that they are actually lengthening. On some days the fiber would get into my eyes and that is where hell breaks loose.
But since trying out this base, my lash game has been changed forever. I’m asian with short lashes by the way. It lengthens my lashes without irritating my eyes. The fibers does not stay into my eyeballs, it doesn’t go in weird directions. It just makes any mascara you put on top of it fabulous. I actually look like I have falsies. It also doesn’t make my mascara gray, which I love love love.
So if you’re Asian like me and frustrated about lashes and mascaras, try this one. It’s worth it.

This is the best, i think I’m up to my 4th tube and bought 4 more tubes when I was in Japan recently. I prefer the straight brush to the new curved brush, and i prefer the white base to the black base. If you are luckily enough to have access to this definitely buy it.
My tip: It gets better over time, so don’t give up in the first weeks of using it.

I do not wear mascara without primer. (The rare exception might be if I’m in an enormous rush or just swiping on one coat of waterproof for the beach). As a result I get compliments on my lashes frequently. They are dark and maybe a little above-average length naturally but nothing that would get noticed. Primer is the key! This one is my favorite. I used to use lancome cils booster but it is a very wet formula and has a major tendency to clump. It felt really wasteful to have to wipe the brush every time I used it, especially at that price point. Not necessary to do with this guy. I think when it comes to mascara the Asian brands just know what they’re doing.
So yes – using this is like getting lash extensions. You can make the effect as exaggerated as you want and it will never shed. One tube also lasts forever because of the texture of the stuff. It’s just fibers in a greyish gel that adhere to your lashes. I’m honestly a little hesitant to spill the secret but it’s only fair since I rely on makeupalley reviews so much… If you’re trying to look like you have borderline false lashes without actually using falsies, this is the way to go. I will update if I find anything I like better in the future. I know shiseido’s primer is supposed to be good too but I haven’t tried it yet.

HOLY GRAIL LASH PRODUCT!
Every single mascara of mine tends to smudge because I have oily lids. It doesn’t matter if it’s waterproof, every single one I’ve tried from drugstore to high-end, western to asian, fat wands to skinny wands, always fails the smudge-proof test.
UNTIL… the entrance of the KATE mascara base.
Translucent and magical, now even comes with fibres for extra-length. Use a proper oil-based eye makeup remover, or better yet, invest in a mascara remover (I’m using the Heroine Make one) and this will go on on your lashes effortlessly, making it lengthen and separate and stay curled all day long until you rub it off with a good remover.
Without this, I would have chucked my recently bought MAC mascara to the bin already. How I wish I found this earlier so it could have saved countless others. It doesn’t really matter what mascara you use over this. It transforms your lashes!

Omg !!was not expecting such a great mascara base.first and only mascara base and solution to my straight asian lash that doesnt hold a curl.No joke,for once my asian lashes stay curled for 10 hours even in a humid country.

I just finished a tube of this base, and I must say that I absolutely adore this. I abandoned this for a while as it would have made my eyelashes look over the top paired with the mascara that I was using at the time, but I’m so glad I rediscovered this and used it religiously until it was all done. I would definitely repurchase this soon.

i bought the product in japan together with the kanebo kate mascara in black color, the price is so much cheaper rather than my origin country so im thinking why not trying both. I found it quite good to holds the curl which is last whole day and the fiber did make my lashes longer, the only thing bothers me is that the fiber keep falling into my eyes. I’m wearing contact lenses which is make the pain even worse, once i had to pull the lenses out to get rid of the fallen fiber. I used little eyelash’ brush to avoid the fiber being too much after applying, it helps a lot

Great product! Adds volume and length really well and it makes my lashes stay curled even without eyelash curler. The fibre stays as well and doesn’t stick out in weird directions like some other products I used previously. Come off easily too. Overall great product but if I find a mascara that can do all this on its own I won’t buy this again, more convenient that way.
Edit: ok. I have found my HG mascara – the japanese Heroine mascara. It really doesn’t need this. Still awesome product though.
