In my experience, this gives you more length than volume. You get big lashes alright, but it looks a bit too clumpy sometimes. I find the brush clumsy, because it’s big and the bristles could be more defined. It looks just like an old school brush. The formula is dry as with most waterproof mascaras, but overall I do like this stuff. I like that it’s waterproof, holds curl and lengthens, but the brush could be nicer and I’m not too excited about the clumps either. It only cost me €2.69 though, so the price is right.

Lots of mixed reviews on this one- I was so pleasantly surprised by it! I find the big brush easier to use than I expected; It doesn’t flake off; my lashes don’t look clumpy. I find it a little hard to remove at the end of the day with my gel-based eye makeup remover (it usually does OK with waterproof). For 2 or 3 bucks, I think this one is a “try it”. If you don’t love it, it hasn’t been a big cash investment. 🙂

Looks great when first applied. Separated my lashes very well and holds a curl on my asian lashes. The look was very full and dark. I love that this formula is not sticky what-so-ever.
However it starts to flake after 5-6 hours of wear and it tarts feeling uncomfortable.

I have Asian lashes and usually when i look for a mascara i would like to have lengthening, volumnising properties as well as holding the curls for a good period of time (at least 8 hrs preferably or longer).
I have used its original formula, the one in a pink tube and it was great. Worked amazingly at a cheap price. I decided to purchase this since this claims to have waterproof properties and great for “pool parties”.
Pros:
+ didn’t flake at initial stages
+ doesn’t clump my lashes together
+ gave my lashes an even coat (this only happens if you take out the wand and remove the excess first!)
+ my lashes looked more fuller (lengthening not so much, but i could still see the difference on my asian lashes)
+ the colour is extreme black which was what i wanted
+ most importantly, it still holds my curl!!!! (i use Shu Uemura eyelash curler fyi)
Cons:
– Smudges after a few hrs (not extreme like racoon like, but visible if you’re talking to me up close)
– the flakiness will only appear after a few hours, esp under hot and humid climate conditions
– not waterproof! lol
Overall i was a bit disappointed, even though the price range for the original one and this is about the same (at least in my country). I think its better to stick to the original one instead cos i felt like it performed better and definitely no smudging or flakiness! I will use finish this tube, but i would not repurchase again.

I decided to try this mascara after I saw a youtuber do an all waterproof makeup test and said that this brand’s waterproof mascara was better than some prestige brands’. So I picked it up at Ulta and decided to give it a try one night I was going into my friend’s pool.
It was a little difficult to apply at first but it gave me a nice amount of volume and length. As for its staying power it definitely worked for being waterproof! However it flakes SO BAD. By the end of the day I had to actually pull over in my car, on the highway, to rub out some flakes that fell into my eye. UGH. I couldn’t wait to take it off at the end of the day. Maybe another formula would be better from this brand, but I’m sure there are better waterproof options that aren’t a safety hazard!

I’m red head any many people things that we have curl super volumizing eyelashes. But I don’t! I know packaging is too cheap like cheap toy but formula is wonderful! I have stragiht and stubborn eyelashes and only works on me quick dry formula because when I do eyelashes curler if I use wet formula they straight back again but this mascara it keeps in lock! But if you have small eyes wand is so huge for you. Wand should be change but formula is great. Also Essence is cruelty free but not vegan… I’m searching formula like this mascara but in vegan way. I hope I’ll find…

The mascara is decent, but it smudges. It has a huge wand that can be hard to use without getting mascara everywhere too. It does look good on the lashes though. It adds a good bit of volume and some length and it keeps a curl. I wouldn’t wear it in the summer if you’ll be sweating at all or working out in any capacity. I might try it again in the winter.
