Mascara is such a personal choice it’s really difficult to read a review and decide, so all I can do is comment about what I prefer and if it matches…all good!
This mascara actually does exactly what it says, it lengthens my lashes, separating and refining, making them so pretty…really lovely and it lasts all day retaining the curl. I must add that I have the shortest finest lashes known to man and when I applied this to my lashes, especially the bottom lashes, I realised Why everyone is obsessed with beautiful lashes.
Marc Jacobs and YSL also have a similar and slightly different effect, so I can say this is one of the triad of favourites.

This is just a good decent mascara but nothing extraordinary. When I invest in a high end mascara, I usually expect a better performance than just a very average volumising mascara. I actually find it tends to give too much definition and separate the lashes in a fifties style, which I’m not really a fan of. Overall, a pretty wet not buildable mascara that I regret buying and needless to say won’t repurchase. There’s much better for half price at the drugstore.

This is not as good as any of the other Hypnose mascaras, but it’s not as bad as They’re Real. It gives a row of even lashes without much length but it makes a good top coat for other mascaras.
Update: I should explain that this is the only truly bad Hypnose product. I absolutely won’t use it again when I have an array of great mascaras in my makeup drawer. I experimented, it proved to be horrible and gummy – this is an example of the new obsession with a sticky, lacquered formula. There is no way to make it work. It is almost as bad as the other gluelike, fake looking mascaras that are flooding the market. It bears no resemblance to the other mascaras that Lancome makes.
