Since I downsized my makeup and am going the natural/cruelty free/vegan route I have tried two mascaras: physicians formula organic mascara and this. This mascara is probably one of the best I have used, it is natural yet the brush provides a LOT of definition and volume. Smells nice, and the formula isn’t too drying. I have used this mascara every day so I will be able to use all of it up by the 3 month recommendation. A bit pricey but I see it as worth it, especially considering I am buying a lot less makeup nowadays. This is my HG I hope it doesn’t get discontinued anytime soon. Ps I buy this mascara from a local Pharmasave, however it is also available on Amazon

I bought the vegan formula a few months back and absolutely fell in love with it. The brush is nice and fat so it coats and separates the lashes nicely, giving a nice plumping effect. It also has a pleasant smell from the vanilla in the formula. This stuff definitely errs more on the natural side though, so if you’re looking for “va-va-voom” lashes you’re better off shopping at Sephora. I also like how easily this product is to remove: just a little bit of water or a swipe with a makeup wipe and it’s gone. Not great if you want waterproof mascara, but awesome if you’re sick of pulling out lashes while taking off your makeup. No irritation, flaking, or clumping with this mascara. It’s an absolute godsend for those of us in the vegan makeup community. One downside is the price: it’s on par with most boutique mascaras and because it’s natural it may not last you as long, but it’s definitely worth it.

I didn’t expect a natural mascara to be so good! I switched from Clinique and I will never go back. This is cheaper, works incredibly, and never clumps. My lashes look great using this — I’ve gotten more compliments using this than other mascaras. Love it.

If I buy something twice, then I really like it. Yes, I have bought this twice and am now going for a third.
-Like another reviewer said, and my sentiment exactly: it darkens the lashes in a natural looking way.
-No clumping whatsoever, and because of this I can really have fun with it finding lashes I didn’t know I had (resulting in a great look).
-It does not bother my sensitive eyes.
-Formula lasts a fairly long time and does not dry out (I use for 3 months and toss).
A great, everyday mascara. It’s a bit pricey – but at least it’s less than Diorshow — with natural ingredients.

Best mascara I have ever used!! Doesn’t clump what so ever! You couldn’t get it to clump if you tried! It doesn’t smudge or flake just like what’s said about it. THIS IS THE BEST MASCARA OUT THERE IM IN LOVE WITH IT!

A good, simple everyday mascara. Only available in black, for a reason to do with the manufacturing process being raw and with no cooking. Fine with me, I like black mascara. It’s a decent lush black. No scent, using only iron oxide for colour, and ticks various boxes for likely compatibility with sensitive human skin and eyes.
Lovely old-fashioned brush. Applies well. No clumping. The brush may need a wipe; twisting it on the way out of the tube helps. But not much accumulation, not enough to be annoying. Usually I apply at least a couple of coats to the upper lashes (inc on their upper side), down to the roots, without combing through or waiting between coats. Then one coat on lower lashes. If done rapidly and smoothly, no combing through needed. Sets quite fast.
The company’s own verbiage and other bloggers often use the terms “glides,” “silky,” “weightless.” I agree. Feels like you’re not wearing mascara. Feel and finish: light, natural-looking and -feeling. Feels like Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara, for these criteria. I used to use and love that mascara; my reason for stopping buying and using Clinique was an ethical one–nothing to do with product performance. A word of warning: I have not done side-by-side testing of the two mascaras, this comparison is based on my memory of Naturally Glossy. I wore it daily for quite a long time, but that is now some years ago.
The Raw mascara stays on well; I tested it overnight too. No smudging, smearing under the eyes, or flaking. No eye irritation. Lashes do not become brittle or crunchy at any point but stay soft. Removes with oil.
YMMV, as my eye area is more dry, not prone to sweating & oiliness; but I wear quite oily moisturiser and sunscreen there, so that’s probably a fair test of a product’s oil-resistance.
The formula is very similar to the old Honeybee Gardens mascara (now discontinued), so if you liked that, might be worth a try. Some other similar ones–unscented, waxy base, no clay, decent preservative; but no beeswax and not raw; and often not just using iron oxides for tint–would include Beauty Without Cruelty Full Volume mascara, their Ultimate one, Mineral Fusion Lengthening mascara, and the *outstandingly excellent* Herbanluxe Waterproof mascara (c/o Etsy). With beeswax: Green People. See further down for comparisons.
Reduced lippies as not great for staying on with glasses: smudges off lashes onto lenses.
