This mascara doesn’t smudge and or flake, which is great for my puffy under-eye area and my contact lenses. I agree with the reviews below that you can get spider lashes if you lie face down–a big surprise after I got a massage with this mascara on and saw my face after lying in the cradle–and that the strength of this mascara is length. Although not advertised as waterproof, this lasted through my father’s funeral with no running and very minimal clumping (it was pouring rain in addition to me crying). I have already repurchased a couple of times.

No flaking! This is the only mascara I wear anymore because I have an eye condition and cannot tolerate any foreign objects flaking near or in my eye. Only drawback is if you nap or place your face in a massage table pillow, your eyelashes will bend and stick together like Tammy Fay Bakker (GenX reference). To take this mascara off, simply wet your lashes with warm water, wait, rewet, then the tubes will sliiiiiiiide off easily. Really great if you have dry or easily irritated eyes.

This product definitely didn’t smudge. It added length, but absolutely no volume. It was cool to see the “tubes” come off, but it was a bit difficult to get them off. I personally didn’t have a problem with hiding the white of the primer. I won’t rebuy because I’m looking for something with more volume.

I have been looking for a tubing mascara to try and was hoping to find a drugstore option because I am cheap like that. This one is double-sided with a white lash primer on one end and the mascara on the other. Wow!! I love it. My lashes appear doubled in length and I look awake. It isn’t goopy or particularly thickening, but I have realized I prefer that because it looks more “natural-yet enhanced” to me. I did not notice any flaking or smudging. Washes off easily with water, another big plus. I ordered from Target for $8.99 in “blackest black.” Very happy with this one and will buy again!
EDIT: I am amending my original reviews comparing this one to Snapscara. I decided I don’t love Double Extend after all. This mascara is okay for special occasions but I noticed my eyes felt irritated (contact lens wearer here), like there were tiny flakes in my eyes. Also, after applying the primer and mascara, my lashes feel sort of bulky almost — and it is very annoying to be so “aware” of my lashes. Snapscara, OTOH, feels like nothing, doesn’t flake or smudge, is cheaper, and makes my lashes look like I have great ones naturally.

This is my HG mascara. I have fairly straight lashes and refuse to curl because I don’t want to weaken them or lose any more. Every other mascara I’ve tried, including waterproof and those that claim they won’t budge, smudges on me terribly in short order. This does not. I’ve tried using it with and without (when in a hurry) the primer. I think the primer helps get some more length going and also makes removal a little easier. But that’s the other thing I love about it. Easiest removal of any mascara. Just hold some extra warm water on the lashes for a few seconds and then gently wipe away. All the tubes slide off and you wash them down the drain! The end. Even easier in the shower where they pretty much remove themselves. One tip for getting all the white primer covered: wiggle the brush when applying the top coat. For a drugstore mascara and drugstore price, this is the best.

I have very sparse, very short, very thin and very straight lashes. Dry eyelids. I normally define my upper eyelid with black liner, because most mascaras aren’t even visible on me. This was so different!! I lashes were thick, long and grazed my brow bone. They “grew” twice as long and three times as wide! The only drawback is that I have to layer the black mascara part multiple times to hide the white mascara primer. It’s annoying, but I don’t mind “paying this price” to have visible lashes for once. I literally look like I do not grow lashes at all in general. But I have doll eyes with these. The texture did improve as it dried over time, because I found it too be slightly too goopy for my taste at the beginning. I would have deducted more points for the goopiness if it didn’t make such a huge difference.

I love this mascara for summer time and for use at work. I do not have to be checking the mirror every 30minutes to see if it is smudged under my eyes or on my eyelids.
It is the ONLY mascara that does not smudge under my eyes.
I have oily skin so I guess this is why all mascaras seem to smudge around my eyes, including waterproof and no matter how expensive.
It gives both volume and length, enough for every day.
It is easy to remove just soak with some warm water and they slide right off. Do not rub and try to scrub off like waterproof mascara!!
The only negative I have noticed is that by evening it does start to flake and can get into your eyes but this is only after having on all day since morning (after more than 8hours of wear). Otherwise, I never have flaking throughout the day.

I tried using this 2 or 3 times throughout the years and remembered why I quit purchasing it each time after I try it again. The wand is fine however the primer being white, is awful. I’ve seen my daughters and myself with missed white areas on our lashes and I’ve also thought they looked grey instead of black and looks awful. I’ve also heard similar complaints from friends. Why wouldn’t they have a black primer instead?
Another pet peeve is the cleanup of all these fibres (unlike ANY OTHER mascara with fibres) in the shower or in the sink which are VERY difficult and ultra time-consuming to remove each one of the pieces on the acrylic showers especially once they quickly dry on there like crazy glue. I REFUSE to allow my girls to use this product unless they remove ALL traces of it using cotton pads BEFORE hitting the shower and ensuring the sink is free from stragglers. I’ve honestly never had an issue with cleaning anything in the bathrooms anywhere with the exception of this mascara.

I like this! It doesn’t smudge under your eyes or flake off throughout the day. It can get a smidge clumpy if you don’t brush it and can be a little hard to remove. But it lasts FOREVER I slept in it once (oops) and usually when I do that my mascara is smudged badly, but with this one it didn’t look like I slept in my mascara at all. It didn’t look freshly applied but it still really surprised me how good it looked!

Gorgeous! This mascara wears beautifully and is a great fit for someone who wants lasting drama in a waterproof formula, without a harsh removal process. I usually avoid waterproof mascaras, unless absolutely necessary, since removal is a pain and I usually lose a couple lashes in the process. This mascara is a fantastic example of a tubing mascara. Beware when “melting” off the polymer tubes though, they come off in strands and look at first as if your lashes are falling out! Warm water and your regular remover do the trick easily though. I love the lash building primer layer. Pricewise, it’s a little more than other L’Oreal formulas, but not terribly so and duly worth it. I will definitely repurchase- especially for sweaty summer months.
