One of the best and cheapest mascaras I have tried and am now on my 4th! The only thing I find is when I remove it at night, there is always a bit that shows in the morning!

I was looking for a mascara that would create a natural look and help with my very straight lashes. I’m pleased with it because it not only serves my needs but it also stays put and I don’t get black under my eyes and the end of the day.
P.S. The “not waterproof” version of this mascara has many and better reviews but I think they apply to this one as well.

I realise why brushes are so important now – having tried this mascara and Max Factor’s 2000 calorie mascara recently, this mascara wins hands down.
The brush loads enough up to coat lashes & you can build it up, so you have a less subtle look and it also holds the curl in place.
*update* This is not waterproof – I applied in the morning, looked fine but then went to a spin class and by the end it had melted off and run down my eyes!
If you are looking for a mascara which is waterproof and can cope with humidity this is not the one.

Easily one of my favourite mascaras ever! Gives long non clumpy beautiful lashes! I would say it gives similar length to that of ‘there real’ without the spider leg effect at the ends (and comes off at night wayyy easier that there real, oh and is a lot cheaper!) Can’t say I have tested how waterproof it actually is as I just wear it as an everyday mascara. Lovely stuff – recommend 🙂

I don’t know about defying clumps, but it’s not a particularly clumpy mascara either. The formula is a bit thinner, while also being on the dryer side. I like the consistency, because I prefer a slightly dryer formula and I like that it isn’t too thick. It provides a really pretty and natural look, but has the tendency to get “spidery” after two coats. It does tend to clump a little and requires a quick comb through with a clean mascara brush. This could be because I naturally have rather thick and full lashes, but other thicker formulas don’t need this extra step. It can be a bit of a nuisance and prevents me from reaching for it as frequently as other mascaras I own. It not only does not hold a curl, it actually drags my lashes down after I’ve thoroughly curled them. Also a nuisance. It is not waterproof, but it doesn’t turn me into a raccoon if I wear it out on a rainy day, which happens frequently where I live (in a swamp, basically). It can be crumbly by the end of the day, but not always. I find the wand is very scratchy if you really want to get in close to the base of the lashes. For the price I paid, and the quality I received, I won’t be repurchasing.
And might I also add…what on earth are these mascara manufacturers thinking with these massive mascara tubes? I hate this chunky packaging, although it’s not just Max Factor that does this, it’s basically all the drugstore brands. It’s as though they’re in competition for who can create the most over the top packaging for such a simple product. It takes up an unnecessary amount of space and makes this not travel friendly.

This is the worst (waterproof) mascara from Max Factor I have ever used. Since my favourite mascara is the Max Factor False Lash Effect Waterproof – the ‘non-clump-defy’ version of this one, I really thought this would be my new favourite mascara of all time. But unfortunately it ended up in the bin. This one cost me 17 euros, broke my heart.
It makes my lashes heavy and they immediately are going back straight and down. I always curl my lashes before I apply mascara but that does not work for this one. Curl them afterwards neither works. It is useless. I would not recommend it to anyone with Asian eye lashes (straight). My sister also used it and it had the same effect with her lashes.
