My thoughts on this product are less then impressed. I owned 2 tubes of this, and while I thought I liked this mascara I think it’s truly just crap. Having used it today because I am in a rush my lashes look so clumped together and so short looking. No volume nor length it’s also very hard to layer or comb out my lashes after it’s applied. Price wise it’s got a 5 because it’s affordable enough and isn’t breaking my bank at all. Packaing was a 5 because I am a huge stickler for the packaging of products. Overall not worth re-purchasing, or using for any reason. Also not good for lower lashes. Brush is a great one and is small too. The issue is the formula !.

I seem to do my best reviews after hours, so let’s give it a go!
I have the 24-hour waterproof version, which comes in a baby blue tube. I love the wand, the slimness of the tube, everything! On to the goodies inside!
I have full (but short) lashes. I couldn’t afford CoverGirl mascara at the time, so I decided to try this one out, and, at $3, my hopes were high. Let me tell you, this did not disappoint.
I always like to say that I’m a part-time mermaid because, during the summer, my Jersey hair and I cannot stay out of the water! For times like those, I require a waterproof mascara. This one stays put–no smudging, smearing, or flaking off. It is fabulous, and so was I. It survived an after-swim shower, too.
I’d say the only “downside” is that it is very wet and will get all over your bottom lid! Other than that, I love this product in ways you wouldn’t believe. Sheer perfection for spring and summer looks!

The wand doesn’t work for my eyelashes and the product application is so thin one must continue to apply to ‘try’ to build which doesn’t end up happening. I prefer to do one swipe and get results. In its defence it darkened my brown blond-tipped lashes to black but didn’t thicken them. This would be okay for someone who wants to darken lighter coloured lashes.
The product didn’t flake or transfer so I am giving it another star for stamina!

I feel like mascara is one of those products I go through so quickly that buying high end is sort of a scam. For the past year or two I’ve been using tubing mascara from either luxury brands at Sephora, or my newer found love – Boots. However when I saw this mascara advertised to last 24 hours, priced at about $3, I had to give it a chance.
The packaging is nice but the mascara itself is very low quality. I had a hard time getting this to coat any of my lashes. And to add insult to injury – it flaked off, which irritated my very sensitive eyes.
I have yet to find a quality product from New York Color. :\ I don’t know how this company stays afloat among all the awesome drugstore brands.

I really like this mascara. It’s non-irritating, cheap, and does actually works. I recommend!

I tried N.Y.C. City Proof mascara in Extreme Black a few months ago. I had good luck w/N.Y.C.’s City Curls previously so I figured I’d give City Proof a whirl. It’s really richly pigmented & has a slightly tapered conical wand w/traditional bristles not rubber ones.It grabs each lash well so I get few clumps. My lashes stay flexible true to the package’s claim. Speaking of packaging, I really like the skyline detail & moon & sun on the tube. Pricing is about the same as City Curls (about $2.50), which rocks. My slightly curly lashes stay dark, full, long, & up all day w/no smears or flakes! No irritation, either. Also, it’s easy to remove w/whatever face wipe or remover I’m using.

I bought this mascara as an emergency, the store didn’t have my favorite mascara so I decided to buy a cheap one as a temporary replacement.
After a while of looking through the complete selection of mascaras from different brand, I saw the NYC ones. I’ve never used them, never heard anything about them, so I was very skeptic.
But it was 2 dollars so I bought it (I’m going to buy “my mascara”). I tried it yesterday, and it wasn’t horrible, honestly I was a little impressed. It is a wet formula, so it does take a little time to dry completely, but it is manageable. It didn’t clump my lashes, always a good thing, and after 5 hours of wear and a nap, it didn’t flake of or left me a huge smudge under my lower lashes (it isn’t a waterproof formula). It did lengthen my lashes, not a huge lot but it was noticeable and I only needed 2 coats. I did a 3rd coat later in the day and again the mascara didn’t flake, it did want to clump a little bit, but a pass a clean mascara wand on my lashes and the little clumping was gone. The wand is a typical cone brush, and it isn’t to big so I like it; I can work with it perfectly fine.
As my everyday mascara I don’t think I would buy it again, I still love my other mascara, but for an emergency or as a back up, I might. For the price it wasn’t a disappointing product.

This is freaking awesome mascara. It’s 2 dollars, doesn’t burn, actually does exactly what it says, and after years of spending the GDP of a small foreign country on mascara and being disappointed, this actually performed better for a sixth of the cost. I’m sold. 🙂 If you hate it, it’s 2 bucks, but I think most of you (especially those of you with sparse, straight and generally hideous lashes that need more than one coat of mascara) will be pleasantly surprised!!

It doesn’t get crunchy, which I liked but doesn’t hold my curl. Drag queens get it.

So this mascara isn’t bad! It was on sale at Target for 2 bucks or so, and I just had this urge to try a bargain product since I’ve gotten lucky and found some good products that are better than the stuff I get at Sephora and ulta. So anyway this is more of a lengthening mascara, I was surprised that it stood true to its no clump claim, it applies really clean. The only reason I said I wouldn’t purchase again is because I like volume over length, but if you like a natural look with long, soft lashes this is a great product. When I used this I kept touching my lashes because it felt so soft! You really need to make sure you build and shape your lashes with this, it even says “buildable” on the front but i can already hear all the negative reviews coming in about how bad this sucks and they probably just slapped it on quick and because it’s cheaper they hate it lol. Honestly, I have tried the cheapest to most expensive mascaras, this really is wasn’t bad and would be a fantastic mascara for people who want the natural look.I think with most of these products people don’t have patience and think it’s going to look like the obviously enhanced picture lol, got to build and shape! I have short lashes and I was able to get them really freakin long after messin around with it. everyone thinks i have super long lashes I really don’t! Also, if you need an emergency tube of mascara or are short on cash give this a try! ^___^
