   This is a quite good mascara, but just like so many others before it, it fails to stay smudge-free on me. I must have impossibly oily eyelids and undereye area (though the latter is also dry, so not the easiest combination) because the majority of mascaras will smudge on me. If I have a bunch of eyeshadow on my eyes (on top of primer, obviously) I’ll be more or less okay with eyelid/browbone, but basically no undereye product will stop it from smudging there.

   If you usually don’t have a problem with mascaras smudging, then chances are you’ll really enjoy this mascara. This is completely budge proof as far as water go – scalding hot showers, pouring rain, swimming… It’ll stay right where it is. Obviously as far as oiliness go, not as budge proof.

   The brush is thin and short-bristled, but still does a pretty good job at separating my lashes. It adds length more than volume, and though I personally have very curled lashes to begin with, I would imagine that it would really hold a curl on straighter lashes as well. The formula is quite wet, and it’ll cause some mascara mess for me despite the small brush. I know everyone keeps saying you should let rouge mascara dry before removing it with a q-tip or something, but don’t do that with this one. Remove it instantly or you’ll have to really fight to get it off your skin.

   The packaging is pretty great, I love the high shine, bright turquoise tube. It certainly stands out in my makeup collection!

   I have quite sensitive eyes, and I haven’t experiences any irritation with this mascara. It removes fairly easily with eye makeup remover for waterproof makeup (I use Lumene’s own). And lastly: it’s cruelty free and vegan! If it wouldn’t have smudged, I probably would’ve repurchased. As it is, I won’t.

   EDIT, 21/1 2017: While all the below is still true, I ended up with a reoccurring allergic reaction from this mascara.

   I am ridiculously impressed by the performance of this mascara. It’s like a touch of fairy dust for lashes in a tube!

   I have medium but very straight lashes, so my lash curler is like my extended arm. I do need waterproof mascara as I do a lot of my work outside in all types of weather and I do a lot of sports. I do not like an extremely volumizing mascara – I prefer a more natural look, and a mascara that can build up for the occassion. I like my lashes individually defined with a durable curl, and little elongating effect never hurt anyone…right?

   So, with the above in mind: I have been on the hunt for THE mascara for forever (like everybody else), and feel pretty comfortable saying that I have found it. And the best thing? It outperforms all the high end mascaras I have tried….for half the price.

   The brush doesn’t look very impressive once you take it out of the tube. At all. It is a very short combed plastic brush, but holy smokes it works wonders! And the size makes it easy to work your corner lashes. It seperates my lashes perfectly and the product goes on very smoothly and dries very fast. I find that sometimes a little too much product might go on to the lashes, but if you just keep combing, it will even out and dry to a very flawless and natural finish.

   I find that this mascara both holds the curl forever AND adds lenght to my lashes. So how about the waterproof aspect you ask? Well…as and example, I wore this mascara out sailing in the rain for hours – it did not budge. The curl stayed put too.

   I experience no clumping, smudging or flaking with this product. Application is very painless too. All I experience is the thrill of having found a mascara that I really-really like. Wearing this mascara for my spring wedding for sure!

   This is a great mascara, especially for the price. As Lumene is a drugstore brand, it doesn’t break the bank to try their products. Some I love, some I find mediocre… this one I love.

   My biggest problem with mascaras is generally getting them to hold my stiff, straight lashes in a curl. This mascara holds! It holds them better than most of the more expensive mascaras I’ve tried.

   The brush head has shorter bristles than average. I don’t mind this, and actually sort of like it, but if you are into the biggest, plushiest brushes ever, you might not love this one. I find it very tidy and neat to apply with. The brush head is also oval instead of round.

   I do not get fallout and umanageable clumping when adding extra coats. Nothing that can’t be easily combed out. Adds decent length and volume, and just makes my eyelashes look separated and pretty. No smudging, no melting.

   I’m a bit tired of throwing money at mascara and not finding much difference between cheaper and expensive brands, so I’m pretty pleased that this one works so well.

   Will definitely repurchase.

   edit: I have to add onto this. I just watched a 7 minute long video of the most heartwarming dog and puppies rescue ever, and cried the whole time. No mascara on the tissue when I wiped my eyes after. I seriously do not think I will ever buy another mascara.
