This is a very good mascara and does exactly what it claims to do. It gives me long, thick lashes and does not smudge under day-to-day activities and weather. It removes very easily. The only reason I finished the tube and didn’t return it was because I like the ingredients PUR uses in their cosmetics and I am a fan of the rubber brush as it separates my lashes and prevents any serious clumping.
This does not hold a curl (it seems like only waterproof mascaras do).
I think this mascara really isn’t worth the price tag. There are plenty of drugstore mascaras that can give the same effect. I have never been one to spend more than $10 on a mascara. My current favorite mascara is the No 7 Extreme Length mascara in the purple tube, and that mascara gives a very similar affect as this mascara.

This is my everyday mascara. I get great volume and length on my fine lashes. Lasts all day without clumping, Does not irritate my eyes. Easy to remove with my regular face cleanser. The wand coats my lashes evenly with minimal clumping. I use both Big Look and Pur’s Volume Vixen mascara. I get a lot more volume with Volume Vixen than I do with Big Look.

I love this mascara! It was shown to me a few years ago by a shoppers drug mart employee who raved about it. I have pretty short eyelashes but when I have this mascara on, they are so long they look like i have eyelash extensions! It doesn’t clump either, which is a huge plus.
It costs $25CAD a tube, so it’s not cheap but I would take this product over benefit’s “they’re real” any day. This is the best mascara I’ve ever used, and I notice that over time, my eyelashes seem to have gotten thicker and more voluminous.

I normally swear by waterproof mascara… I wear mascara everyday and my eyes tend to water quite a bit…. but trying Pur Minerals Big Look may be a game-changer for me.
My waterproofs would clump and dry and it would feel like I had rubber cement on my lashes. Big Look is soft, moisturizing, and I didn’t even have to curl my uncurled, short, straight, pointing-down lashes when I first tried it. I was amazed. At first stroke, it lengthened, curled, and darkened my tiny, thin, straight lashes.
So far, so good. I’d been on the hunt for a decent natural/hypoallergenic mascara and this was recommended to me.
I suppose if I really wanted to, I could apply a coat of waterproof mascara over it, if I fear it may run/streak.
All in all, I’m happy and refreshed by this crazy-good lengthening and NON-clumping masterpiece.

I LOVE this mascara, definitely my new favourite for my upper lashes. I am very picky with mascaras and in the past I’ve had to use sometimes 3-4 different mascaras to achieve the lashes I want. I bought this originally in a discounted set in TK Maxx (UK) and bought it for the other items so wasn’t expecting much when I used this. Pur is now one of my favourite brands so I decided it was about time I pulled this mascara out and used it.
This mascara makes me look my eyelashes are fake! They give you so much empthasis and make your lashes look HUGE. I could easily just use this mascara for my upper lashes but I sometimes add another one for a more volumed effect as this is more for lengthening IMO. It’s slightly expensive to buy at the original price but I do believe it is worth it and blows most of my other mascaras out the water.

This is a great Mascara – pitch black, creates nice volume for the lashes without clumping at all, and though it isn´t waterproof it has great lasting power – it never smudged or flaked on me, even after really long and/or hot days. Now you may think it would be hard to remove, but no – it comes off clean and without problems. The only reason I give this “only” a 4lippie rating is, that the lengthening effect could be more intense for me.

We all know that mascara is a very personal choice; SO many elements are involved with choosing a mascara, including one’s eyelashes, feature preferences and especially, one’s APPLICATION. And so I am writing my own experiences with Pur’s BIG LOOK regular mascara.
This is THE BEST MASCARA I HAVE EVER USED. I’m an aging beauty and have been using mascara for 45 YEARS. I go back to Maybelline’s original red & gold (straight bristle) and their white & gold (angled bristle) tube. Okay….I used their original cake formula too (with the mini-toothbrush applicator – but I was not one to spit in it as so many did!). I am not one to agonize over mascara application; I want quick and effective and lasting. But I’ve noticed, watching YT beauty videos, I apply much more mascara and a much more efficient application than so many of them.
BIG LOOK Macara’s features:
* It’s WET. I prefer wet mascaras, I can play with them more and all mascaras dry out with time; why would I want one that starts out dry?
* It’s BLACK
* It dries STIFF. Like I care if my lashes are soft?? If I want long, dark, thick, curled, SOFT eyelashes I’ll wear falsies.
* It HOLDS A CURL ALL DAY. A plus with stiff mascaras. And this is not the waterproof formula. When I curl my lashes and apply this mascara the effect lasts ALL DAY.
* It’s easily buildable but one coat is MORE than ample.
* It doesn’t smudge under my eyes.
* It has a BLOBBY TIP. I can quick-coat my lashes with the tip to blob on mascara old-school, side to side, then use the short-bristled plastic brush to apply evenly.
* It’s $20. I have enjoyed several high-end mascaras but never enough to use daily and repurchase repeatedly. THIS mascara is the first high-end (yes, I consider $20 h/e) that I want to use every day and WILL repurchase. This mascara affects my over-all makeup look that much. My life is quite dull right now, I work in a conservative environment, I’m not dating and I am the sole caretaker of my elderly mother…but this mascara makes me look and feel BEAUTIFUL. I want this everyday.
My application:
I curl my short, thick lashes, use the tip (not quite pointed but rounded and coated with product) to swipe on mascara from lash roots, focusing on my outer lashes. Then I use the plastic, evenly short-bristled brush to distribute and apply. I do strokes and wiggles upward….just beautiful. I was shocked the first time I tried BIG LOOK; I received it last year when I ordered Pur’s SOUL MATTES palette! I wasn’t interested, never even read a review, I just tossed it in with my stash. My sister gave me QVC’s mascara sampler last year and I’ve been using those tubes all year, which includes Mally’s, IT Cosmetics HELLO LASHES, etc. HELLO LASHES has a similar brush but the mascara as a whole is NOTHING like BIG LOOK!!! Nothing at all, not impressive at all.
In short….I ADORE THIS MASCARA!!! I’M UTTERLY DELIGHTED WITH IT!!! If we share the same mascara preferences – wet, stiff, holds a curl – please try this one! *That’s me in the photo above, with one coat on my left eye. How do you guys take a pic of your own eyes?? I’m such an amateur!

I received a sample of the regular version and I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s a little too wet for my liking (I guess because of the Argan oil?) and it smudges like crazy so I always wear a waterproof mascara afterwards to “set it”. I like that it gives length and it’s not clumpy or flaky or spidery. It’s not very volumizing but it’s ok because it compensates with the lengthening. Overall I think it’s an OK mascara, the wand is weird but it works if you wiggle when applying. I don’t think I would purchase the full-size because I have other favorites for the same price or less, like the Clinique High Impact and High Impact Extreme (both awesome and cheaper).

I got the waterproof version of this mascara. When I first applied this mascara, I loved it. It was black, it gave my lashes length and volume, and it didn’t flake or smudge. I wore it through the day and it kept a curl. The problem was when I went to remove my makeup. The box says “rain or shine, take your lashes to the extreme…” Let me say that it will definitely 100% hold up in rain and shine and blizzards and floods and everything else you throw at it. It is ridiculously hard to take off. If you’re looking for something that will stay on your lashes when you’re sweating or maybe you’re going to the pool, this is for you. I, however, am looking for a mascara to wear daily and the removal was a deal breaker for me. Maybe the non-waterproof version is better, though.

Got the waterproof version. The regular version might be better. The waterproof version clumps and flakes. Feels heavy on. Not actually waterproof.
Edit: After receiving the regular version, I can say it’s a really nice mascara. The waterproof was just flaky, whereas it’s non-waterproof version is conditioning and nice to use.
