When I bought this mascara, I wanted a natural mascara that performed as a waterproof mascara, but this product does not work well for me: it does not hold the curl if I use an eyelash curler, and if I do not use it, my eyelashes look straight. Furthermore, for a waterproof mascara I would not expect it to smudge on me, and this one does smudge within a couple of hours. Since it does not perform as other waterproof mascaras, it can be very easily removed with coconut oil. It has a traditional brush.
