It doesnt do much for my lashes except its very good at separating them. The color payoff isnt there so this is a dud for me. This is just one that didnt work for my lashes. I think its the fact that i personally dont like spikey type of mascara wands and i dont have many lashes so the separation i dont need. I prefer Le Volume de Chanel, if im going highend. I use to love the diorshow too when i was younger but not very budget friendly. My point is there are many different selections drugstore and highend out there!

Did not like this at all!
The good: the formula is ok – if used with an alternative brush
The bad: I hate the brush! I “stabbed” my eyes with it trying to get right to the root of my lashes and found that it really didn’t coat very well, or comb our clumps. The brush does not assist in getting any volume, length or separation.

This is bad. The brush was really uncomfortable with really long spikes that constantly poked me as I was trying to get the brush close enough to my eye to get mascara at the base of my lashes. The formula is also terrible. Really dry and did nothing. Made curled lashes stick straight and was neither lengthening or volumizing. I usually stick it out and use up the tube but this one got tossed almost full. Thankfully it was a mini/sample size! Don’t waste your money!!

I bought this because it was appearing on a lot of ‘best mascaras of 2016’17’ lists. I have to admit I tend to lean more towards quite dramatic mascaras and even They’re Real (which I can admit is good) is too natural for me.
This isn’t a ‘oh it’s a good mascara it’s just too natural for me’ moment, this mascara was totally unbuildable it barely did anything to my lashes. The bristles of the brush don’t seem to pick up enough product at all it was hardly noticeable on my lashes. Will definitely not purchase again.

I find myself in a very small minority here — I love this mascara. It doesn’t make me look as though I’m wearing false eyelashes, it doesn’t make my lashes look spiky and spidery; it just adds volume and length in a subtle way. Nor does it clump on me the way so many other people have complained it does. I have about eight mascaras, and this is my favourite. Maybe I just have weird eyelashes…

I don’t like to be one to look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth but…. I received a decent mini size of this mascara at a Sephora VIB event and was really excited to try it since I have so many other Nars products I love. The tube itself looks nice and stylish and has that nice red top to the lid. And I guess the brush is red too, though you can’t really tell since it is coated in mascara (I think….it’s kinda hard to tell from the less than thrilling results I got). The nice look of the tube is where the liking ends, I’m afraid. This really should be called Audaciously Disappointing Mascara. I realize I only had a mini but that shouldn’t affect the product or the brush application. Both of these were disappointing, and I’m someone who actually PREFERS a more natural lash look but I wasn’t seeing much of anything on my lashes and then, when I finally did see some results, it was mostly clumping and uneven application and generally inexcusable poor quality from a mascara that sells for $34 in Canada. As someone else said, the brush really was painful to the rims of my lids and while I’ve got other mascaras with similar plastic bristle brushes, none of them hurt performed as poorly. It actually looks a bit like some vicious battle club from the Middle Ages! I’ve had drugstore mascaras that cost under $10 that work better than this stuff. I am glad I didn’t actually spend my own money on this.

Hmmm. I don’t hate this mascara quite as much as the other reviewers, but that’s only because 1) I haven’t experienced any flaking (I certainly would not classify the formula as dry, and I’m a person who likes drier mascara formulas), and 2) I can think of at least two mascaras that were worse than this one. So, this one gets at least two lippies as I now reserve one lippie status for the absolute worst mascaras (those that irritated my eyes, those that broke off eyelashes, and those that had a formula that separated and leaked out of the tube… yeah, those guys). Anyway, like I said, I had no flakes. I got this in the sample size the the annual mascara kit you can buy from Sephora, so perhaps mine was extra fresh. The formula was neither wet nor dry – middle of the road. Nonetheless, the mascara was nothing spectacular. The brush was pokey, though I’ve experienced worse. It lengthened okay, but there are MUCH better lengthening mascaras out there. It did nothing for volume. There are tons of better mascaras out there.

Is this mascara amazing? No. Is it okay? Yes. I find that this mascara gives me more volume than anything else, it also separates nicely and adds a bit of length. However, it flakes like crazy. By the end of the day, there are flakes all around my eyes. Also, I find the brush can sometimes hurt when you apply it, since it is such a spiky brush. Overall, an okay mascara, but probably won’t repurchase.

I can’t add too much to the already-large list of negative reviews. Suffice it to say, they are accurate.
The absolute worst mascara I have ever (EVER) tried. Hands-down. The strange red brush was painful to use on the lashline, as it poked me. The formula itself was runny, yet clumpy at the same time. And nothing special, in terms of making my lashes fuller or longer.
I received deluxe samples twice through Sephora/GlossyBox, and then a sample in the 2015 Lash Stash. So I have tried to make it work three different times. No luck at all. I gave a fourth one away immediately.
Total fail from NARS on this one.

Got a sample of this, and when I tried it, the wand head was just so massive (tiny asian eyes) and the formula was a bit clumpy and difficult to brush out. It also FLAKED, SO MUCH, killing my eyes, and because I wear contacts, that was added pain and suffering. It might just be that it dried out and a fresh mascara might not have the issue, but…I’ve had other mascaras for longer than this and they’ve never flaked on me.
