This is my favorite mascara. I have super oily lids, and also have to deal with pretty harsh weather during winter (watery eyes guaranteed). Most mascaras smudge like crazy on me, so I prefer tubing mascaras. This is slightly more cost effective than Blinc,and wears like iron. The packaging is unintrusive (has been redesigned, so now it is dark gray instead of gold), the skinny brush is straight forward to use. It is not a very dramatic mascara, but adds enough length and a little bit of extra volume that is perfect for work. Unlike Blinc, that rolls off the lashes easily with warm water and a little pressure, I normally require makeup remover to take away this mascara, but it comes clean with a cotton pad with Micellar + washing my face with warm water. A little bit more effort than Blinc, but still reasonably easy to remove without much tugging, and removes without any residue, unlike non tubing mascaras.

This mascara is bulletproof! It doesn’t smudge on my oily skin. It doesn’t run from my teary allergic eyes. It even survived a swimming field trip with 90 splashing fourth graders. This mascara goes on pretty wet so I find it slightly difficult to apply but it holds a curl and lengthens beautifully. It removes nicely with Marcelle makeup remover wipes but I’ve found some other removers won’t even take this mascara off. I’m not crazy about the $25 price tag but with this staying power it’s the only mascara I’ll buy from now on.

I hate to have to leave a less than glowing review for anything by Lise Watier, a company in which we Canadian makeup lovers can take a great deal of pride, especially now that the actions of the leader to the south are causing many of us to “buy Canadian” (well, at least it has really encouraged me to do so). I needed to spend a bit more to put my purchase up over $50 (for bonus Optimum points) and as I knew this mascara had very high ratings, I figured I’d buy a tube and give it a try. I don’t like the results at all. It gives me spidery and clump-y lashes rather than the natural but slightly darker and more defined look I prefer from a mascara. Perhaps because this is my first “tubing” mascara (so far as I know), I also find removing it more than a bit problematic and time consuming if I want to avoid bits of black all over my under-eye area. I also find the brush confusing – I realize there are 2 different “sides” to it but for the life of me, as it’s coated in black mascara (and it’s not yellow, as in the photo), I can’t tell which side is which for the purposes of optimum application and results. To give this its due, it doesn’t smudge or leave a black shadow under my eyes as the day wears on but that alone isn’t enough for me to repurchase this.

This is a really good tubing mascara with one annoying quality; removal. Normally it is very easy to remove a tubing mascara from your lashes. Some warm water, a little bit of light pressure and the tubes slide right off. Not this formula. It is like a coat of armor for your lashes. Loads of water and a lot of rubbing will remove some, but not all of the tubes. Using a gentle micellar water or any other makeup remover will help though. All that aside, this mascara is wicked good. I was able to get a good amount of BOTH volume and length and my lashes looked smooth and clump free. They do feel a little stiff but there is zero flaking, and as expected from a tubing mascara there was no smudging at all. It lasts all day and night and is very comfortable to wear. An unexpected bonus was that my lashes remained curled – usually my lashes fall immediately after applying mascara, nothing holds the curl. Maybe it is the stiffness of this formula that helped keep my lashes curled and lifted: regardless the reason I am thankful because I have hooded eyes and any kind of lift or openness is much desired. I have used a number of other tubing mascaras and this one is my favorite so far. It is similar to Blinc in the sense it makes my lashes long and smooth, but less expensive and better in my opinion. Blinc provides length but zero volume. L’Oréal Double Extend (good), Revlon Mega Multiplier (okay) and Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge (horrible) all made my lashes look sort of clumpy , whereas Lise Watier is very smooth. I wish it was more affordable but right now the price is not a deal breaker for me. Unless I find another better, more affordable tubing mascara I will most certainly be repurchasing this one. I’d deduct half a lippie for the PITA removal if I could and rank this 4.5 out of 5 but since I can’t do half lippies I will round up and leave it at 5/5.

This is the ONLY mascara I use. Since high school I’ve had small lashes (also an eyelash picker) and I’ve always been looking for something that DOESN’T give me raccoon eye, or something that flakes… I’ve tried everything in the drugstore… L’Oréal, Cover Girl, Rimmel, E-V-E-R-YTHING. Low and behold I came across the 24 hour glam when I was about 18… And I love it. Like it was something I was FINALLY thinking of that had everything I needed…. I’m 26 now so I’ve been using it for 8 years and won’t stop using it. It’s a bit pricey BUT it works and I recommend anyone to just give it a try ❤️❤️

I had recently read that ‘tube’ mascara would be a good choice for those of us with issues of mascara perpetually ending up under our eyes or flaking onto our cheeks (that’d be me).
I hadn’t heard much about tube mascara since it first came out – didn’t even know if they still made it as I originally thought it was gimmicky. I was really looking for an alternative to wearing waterproof mascara everyday as that can dry my lashes, so I looked into tube mascara and discovered that Lisa W had one that was on a few ‘top’ lists.
This product actually says it is waterproof, so I guess it’s not my dream come true that way. However I can say that I checked my face in the mirror at the end of the day and did not have one single solitary shadow, flake, or black dot on my face around my eyes.
The brush is square with two longer sides and two shorter sides (so it goes short, long, short, long) The enclosure mentions them and what they are for (shorter bristles to add volume, longer bristles to add length) but they don’t give any tips on how to use them in application. This brush reminds me a lot of Bourjois Liner FX Mascara with it’s scary but effective brush. You have to be careful not to poke yourself in the eye with the long end. With this brush you must have a steady hand and the ability to zero in up close to figure out what side you are using on the wand to get the most out of application. Perhaps if the two short sides and two long sides were side-by-side on the brush it would be easier to avoid getting poked by the long bristles as you try to apply product to the base of the lashes with the short bristles. A disposable mascara wand may be in order here.
It doesn’t add a lot of volume – however I’ve not mastered the shorter bristles. I’m always wary of volumizing mascara anyway – the dreaded fake-chunky-spider-leg look. What it does give me is lovely long tapered glossy lashes that I love, and it stays put all day which is incredible.
Because of the awkward brush combined with the price (about $26) I couldn’t give this 5 lippies but so far would buy again because it gives me the lashes I like best and gives me confidence as I go about my day I don’t look like I just woke up from a nap in my mascara!
Oh and my lashes stay soft after application! I love that. Haven’t tried using it with curled lashes yet.
To remove it’s so easy and much less messy than usual methods. Instead of smearing mascara all over your eye area as you remove it, you just bathe your lashes with some warm water on your finger tips, then roll you lashes gently and slide the tubes off. Very convenient.
I will continue to watch its performance and see if I can master a better technique to get the most out of this mascara, but so far I’m pleased with its performance!

Fellow oily-skinned makeup users of the world, prepare to meet your HG mascara. For as long as I’ve been using mascara (16+ years), I’ve struggled with smudging due to my extremely oily skin. I’ve tried pretty much every brand, price point, and formula; this is the only one that holds up all day with no smudging whatsoever. It’s said to be a tubing formula, but other than the fact that the oils in my skin don’t break it down over the course of the day, it doesn’t particularly behave like one. It doesn’t rinse off with warm water and pressure. It doesn’t leave my lashes looking sparse and thin. It’s generally easy to work with and buildable. The animal print bottle is a little cheesy, but the spiky, not-too-big brush does a great job of depositing lots of product in the roots of your lashes, thereby bulking them up and creating a nice illusion of thickness. It definitely works best on curled lashes; when I skip the curling step, I find my lashes are more apt to clump together in an unappealing way, but provided I take the extra 30 seconds to curl my lashes first, the result is always great. And it really does stay on all day. I’ve even fallen asleep in this stuff (nobody’s perfect, okay?!) and was shocked to see the product still intact, with no smudges or flakes to speak of. While the company claims that this mascara can be removed with warm water and pressure, make no mistake: You will need makeup remover to get this stuff off. I think the price point for this is fair, if not exactly budget conscious (it’s in the range of $24 CAD, if memory serves), but I’d rather pay a bit more for a product that truly performs, than throw my money at mascaras that don’t live up to their claims and leave me feeling self-conscious and disappointed, and leaving them to go bad in a drawer while I move on to the next, latest-and-greatest “smudgeproof” mascara. Additionally, as far as I know, Lise Watier does not engage in animal testing, which is important to me. This one’s an all around winner, and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it!
