This is great synthetic brush with dense bristles and a flattened top. I use it mostly for buffing in concealer, eye primer or diffusing cream shadows.
It gives a very natural finish when I spot conceal. It quickly buffs products in, or sometimes I use a patting motion. I also like to buff it along my crease and brow bone when using cream eyeshadow.
This washes very nice and doesn’t seem to hold onto product. I do have to carefully reshape the bristles, but it does dry nicely after reshaping.
I enjoyed this brush so much I bought the dual ended travel version as well.

My foundation brush for the rest of my life! I’d never thought I would love to return to a makeup brush for my foundation but I did. I read people use this for foundation instead of contouring. This made me curious since all of them loved the result which you can achieve very quickly.
My experience:
I put some dots of foundation on my face. I take this brush at the very end (try to avoid the pink area) because it makes blending much easier and avoids harsh, streaky, uneven results.
I don’t do the swirling motions, rather I prefer a soft stippling motion.
The result: Smooth. Kind of natural, yet better than my real skin. With every foundation. An orgasm for makeup lovers. (Ok, I stop here before it gets too hot.)
With soft and careful stippling motions you also avoid that the Sculpting Brush sucks foundation at a high rate. Whenever I’m finished, the white bristles are only stained (because: It ain’t a Silisponge.). When I try to remove it with a tissue, nothing is seen on the tissue. But you can remove it easily with soap and water. The bristles have very good quality and are very soft, yet dense.
The design is quite cute, I love that pink color combined with deep black.
Overall, this is a brush which has Highend quality. The price is very good, considering you get the best quality for a long, long time.

I bought this about a year ago for contouring. I never really liked it because I felt like it just left a stripe on my face and I had to go back and blend with a kabuki so this sat in my brush roll. I randomly remembered seeing people saying they loved it as a foundation brush so I tried it and I agree it’s great at that! I’ve been using sponges for the past two years but this makes a little foundation go a long way and go on so full coverage. The tip makes it easy to go around your eyes and nose and even brows (I do mine first) so dense but soft. I’m glad I tried it for this and would definitely repurchase again if something happens to this one. Love real techniques.

This brush is supposed to be for contouring, but I absolutely fell in love with it as a foundation brush. It is *so* dense and soft, leaves a perfect finish, and the pointed tip gets into your eye & nose corners like the tip of a beauty blender would. I got it in the contouring kit (I think it’s actually called the “sculpting kit”) and the rest of the kit is a dud. But this brush rules.

First off, the brush appears very nice with a comfortable hand and looks quite pretty. I also like how it matches the rest of the Real Techniques brushes.
The brush is soft but for some reason does not pick up any product. I tried to use it to contour my face but I had to be quite aggressive in order to pick up any powder with it. I used it with both my Revlon Contour palette and my Nars Blush/Bronzer duo so it can’t be due to poor powder quality. It just took forever to pick up product and apply. The shape of the brush is ideal to properly get into the cheek hollows too!
Will not repurchase and will be looking for a better brush.

I wanted something for contouring, but I find that is too dense and can make the bronzer look harsh. It is more effective to use as a foundation brush because it blends so nicely (I saw this on Tanya Burr’s Youtube channel, so I gave it a try). I won’t repurchase it because it is not something amazing. Really affordable, too.

To the reviewers who said this was great for foundation: thank you! I bought it for that purpose after hearing that, and I love this more than I love the expert face brush at this point. It’s softer, yet just as dense if not denser. It gives a flawless finish, and gets the maximum coverage out of each foundation I’ve used it with. No streaks, no patchiness, just a really even and flattering application, and a quick one at that. I simply adore this brush!
I don’t use cream contour often enough to have much of an opinion of it as a contour brush, but it does its job there too. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be used with pressed/powder bronzers as well? For that I personally prefer fluffier brushes.
But again, can’t recommend it enough for foundation! HG status.

I had nearly completed my real technique collection and this was one of the brushes I needed. It was quite pricey but it is very soft and the brushes are very long lasting. I tried it out and it perfectly fir under my cheek bones. I created a nice subtle contour. I think if you want a more cut look then I wouldn’t recommend it because it is quite a dense brush. The packaging is lovely and it feels really nice.

I know this is sold as a contouring brush, but it works amazing as a dense foundation brush. I absolutely love using this for my base foundation. Since I have terrible skin the foundations I use are full coverage, so that means I need a brush that can blend well. This brush delivers. I especially like using it for foundations that set quickly and require me to move fast to blend.
If I lose this brush I will definitely buy another. I’ve had it about a year, and I wash it once a week. It’s held its shape, and hasn’t lost any bristles. You can’t beat the price of this brush and the quality is fantastic. The only other foundation brush I like as much as this one is IT Cosmetic’s Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7.

I think this brush is too chubby for contouring, but it does a great job as a foundation brush. It is fluffy, dense and bristles are so unbelievably soft. If you like to really buff your foundation into the skin – this is the best tool to do it with. Plus, since it is slightly angled, it kind of embraces “curves” of your face and glides like butter.
