Better than Mac 217. And cheaper ! I wish I had bought this before the 217 that has frayed on me

I love this brush, I use it everyday for a variety of looks, it’s my go to for a natural look and I also love to use it clean for blending. Personally, I do not feel like it’s similar or a dupe for the 217, I have both and this brush is much fluffier. I do not use them the same way and they are not interchangeable as far as application goes. I use the 217 for more precise crease blending and I use the #27 for larger transition blending or for highlight, lid, crease for light washes on “natural” days. I don’t normally write reviews for products unless they are one extreme or the other and I do truly love this brush and feel like it’s one of my *must have* staples. I’m extremely picky about my brushes and I’m kind of a brush “snob”…. I’d also like to point out that this brush is indeed natural hair bristles…I’ve seen several reviews on Sephora and MUA that state it is synthetic. It absolutely is not synthetic so if you’re vegan or try to stay away from natural hair bristles, this is not for you. (I suppose it’s possible an older version of this brush maybe synthetic?)

I use this every day at work and it is a great brush, but not quite as amazing as my MAC 217. Still worth having for sure though.

I just got this brush today after reading temptalia’s must have brushes. Got home and tried it immediately. It is one awesome brush, soooo soft and blends gorgeously. It’s way cheaper than a Mac 217 and it comes with a plastic brush protector! Unlike the Mac brushes. I love looking for cheaper alternatives and this is one purchase I do not regret!

Lots of beauty gurus rave about the M. A. C. 217 blending brush in their blogs. I don’t understand what all the hype is about. IMO the bristles are the perfect length, density and cut. It is the fact that they are goat hair that makes me dislike them. They are so prickly and scratchy on my lids that I find them frustrating to use. I already own a few of the Sephora PRO line of brushes and feel they are of excellent quality and a worthwhile investment. I just knew they had to have something similar to the 217 that would save wear and tear on my poor eyelids! The Sephora PRO #27 is of very similar size and shape to the 217, but has synthetic bristles that are very luxurious and feel supremely soft. The #27 applies and blends shadows perfectly and then washes up beautifully, without the splayed bristles of the 217. Yes, I do use brush guards, but with synthetic bristles you can easily reshape with your fingers and they will dry and be just as perfect as they were before washing. Long story short, I think the #27 is the perfect substitute for the MAC 217.
